Amiibo Thread 5 | Because we didn't preorder thread 4

Guys... just imagine the super duper special limited and numbered amiibo edition when Zelda U comes out. It's already sold out.

The right thing to do would be to mass produce 1 amiibo every month. That way there isn't a shortage and anyone who wants one can easily get one in that month.

But then who is going to want them? Well I mean obviously some of the fans, but doing that there won't be nearly as many sales nor the amiibo fever there is now. Good for the true fans, bad for the money I would argue, and the overall health of the amiibo market.

I'm very close to cancelling my Super Mario Bros line preorders and saying fuck wave 4. The exclusives are really pissing me off and people buying amiibo in bulk to resell isn't helping either...

They were avaiable twice at an average at a mere 13 minutes, like another user before me mentioned not to bad NoA stantards.

Actually, it was 3 times. The first time was about 8 minutes, 2nd time was less than half of that and the third was about the same as the 2nd.

Wave 1-3 preorders online lasted DAYS. Not sure where this comes from.

Resrtocks don't last long no. So in reality this is the fastest selling Amiibo so far.

We've reached critical mass with these things now.

Yeah thanks for the heads up i edited my previous post, i assumed the 2nd time was just longer.

Silly rabbit, true amiibo collectors don't have jobs...

Lol i went based off the Majoras Mask Xl ,Limited Edition, Smash bros bundle and gamecube adapter pre order times

all 4 of these sold out within the same day if not minutes

No prob. :) Either way, way too short.

I will say, I am worried about wave 3. I have told 2 Gamestops to let me know when the wave 3 preorder opens up, but I'm afraid that it will close before I can get off work.

Not too worried though since you missed wave 3 pre-orders by months ;)

The same people that want them now minus the scalpers. Jesus, you're really starting to sound like one of them.

Why is this not a problem for Skylanders and Disney Infinity? There's plenty of those figures in stores everywhere, yet Nintendo gets treated like this sacred entity and its okay that they produce so little.

No its not the only way, you could buy them direct from the secondary market at a premium or wait for a restock.By buying multiple people are drying up the supply at a susbtantially higher rate leaving a big number customers who wanted the product stranded with nothing.

I was well aware that Rosalina was gonna be rare but i only purchassesd one since thats all i need,i rather another person get the chance of owning it.
Secondary market such as foreign or third party seller?
I'd rather all my amiibo be the US version and I don't plan on spending 100 on a villager.
Restocks aren't a guaranteed thing.
As a matter of fact, I believe only 3 amiibo were legitimately announced as officially discontinued: wii fit, villager and I honestly forgot the other.
With discontinued amiibo being a relevant aspect of consumer purchasing, no wonder people buy in twos.
You can't blame the buyers.
Unless they're scalping. F those guys

I have five gold mario amiibos on preorder using multiple email addresses. If anyone wants one at retail cost, let me know. I won't upcharge you.

Bah, missed out on Gold Mario. Forced to pay $55USD to a scalper. Why have you forsaken me NIntendo!

You could have waited a bit to see if a restock was imminent again but its your money look at the good news at least you wont be paying $100 plus

I wouldn't even think about putting money towards a scalper at this time, considering that it doesn't even come out for another month yet. There were three preorders for it today, I would not be surprised if there are more. And you might always find one in the store.

Try not to support the scalpers.

Posted my extra rosie and ddd for trade on Craigslist for a shulk and lucario. Got offers for both for two lucarios. Would it be easier to trade a lucy for shulk or Dedede for shulk?

I believe Marth is discontinued. But then we are supposedly going to get another reprint (just hope it isn't a damn card).

And I agree, F the scalpers.

2 left. Anyone else want the gold mario amiibo at retail cost? You just pay shipping.

Edit: And you have to live in the US. Sorry, forgot to make that distinction.

I understand what you mean, trust i know this is easier said than done especially considereing the current state of amiibos but when people state that they purchased multiple of an highly sought after item in an area where people cant even get one theres bound to be hurt feelings,i have no issues what people do with thier money but people should be aware of what thier tone of language may come off to other people.

The people who 'buy extra for trades ' get luaghed out the room for this sane reason, nany people view them as scalpers in denial.Whether they are or not is a totally diffrent discussion

By gunpoint.

Well then you would have been robbed, which is basically the same thing as buying one for $55. Seriously, it will probably go up again, you could have a chance of getting one in store, and an even better chance of trading a fellow Gaffer for one.

If anyone still needs a Toon Link or Sheik, PM me. I've got extras that I need to get rid of, since I preordered from multiple stores to play it safe. $12.99+shipping.

Well, if any one is well to hook a brutha up in Canada. I'll see if I can cancel.
