Getting a Shovel Knight amiibo is going to be impossible. Even when I think I'm catching the news and acting fast online, I've been unable to secure one.

sigh...

Are they hard to find? There was a handful at a Best Buy I went to last week here in Chicago.

Which ones are rare nowadays?

I actually just checked this thread because I saw a bunch at Best Buy and assumed the Amiibo craze was over.

They will but inventory numbers aren't looking pretty. Your luck will vary depending on your local Target.

As a precaution, if Target is your main plan of acquiring Shovel Knight, you might want to show up early.

After seeing Amazon was sold out I was going to bite the bullet and pre-order one from Best Buy for pick-up since it doesn't look like they'll go up for shipping anytime soon... then after adding it to my cart and selecting a store it said the closest store with a pre-order left was over 75 miles away. Nope! I may just get one from a 3rd party seller on Amazon if there's Prime shipping.

But seeing how the AC amiibo are in good supply (and the Tom Nook amiibo is well below $10 now on Walmart) I can't help but wonder if it's better to wait for Wave 2 to go on sale instead of pre-ordering them. Thoughts?

It's a possibility, as I didn't have any issues with finding the 1st wave a couple of days after they had launched. I say hold it out for a bit and look for some swell deals.
