phandroid finally has their review for the S6 up. Like most reviews, great phone, disappointing battery: http://phandroid.com/2015/04/15/samsung-galaxy-s6-review/

I left work today with 100% battery. I really love wireless charging.

Once I can find a good portable battery pack that supports Quick Charge, I'll be getting that for when I actually need to use the battery for extended periods.

But yeah, the battery life is definitely nothing to brag about on the S6.

There's more rumours floating around about the one plus 2 having a fingerprint censor. Rumours for that phone are creeping into too good to be true territory but it's something to watch for.

Can't believe the 3 y/o phone I recently discarded, Nexus 4, is receiving 5.1 while my brand new Note 4 is still thirsting for Lollipop.

Sammy gonna Sammy
i had Lollipop almost 2 months now. i mean, even my friend on Verizon got L like 2 weeks ago.

real talk. even regional carriers have L on the Note 4

speaking of this... can they make it work on Verizon via VoLTE yet?

I'm glad that Oneplus have the sense to name it Oneplus Two instead of whatever the hell HTC is doing. Then again, HTC is literally releasing the same phone over and over again every year with some specs better and others worse, so maybe every year's new HTC One being named HTC One is the correct naming scheme.

It always bugs me to think that there are people getting paid tons to come up with shitty names and a team of designers that basically did nothing the last year or so lol.

Sprint GS4 should be holding dat L next week

they should name it TwoPlus Two and call the low end version TwoPlus One

People thought the first one was too good to be true as well at the price point it released at. It was a top of the line phone at the time it released that beat pretty much every other phone out at half the cost.

Bro even the Note 3's Lollipop is out. Not sure what your hold up is xD

It's freaking T-Mobile... officially the last carrier to release Lollipop. I mean, I can update through other means, but that would compromise my warranty, no?

At least you don't have a droid turbo. My brother got L last night on his note 4, my family has it on their S5s and it was released for the G2 the day after I sold mine.

That's true but I think this time will be a bit different. I don't think the main flagship (with supposed metal frame and fingerprint sensor and more) will be sold for 300 bucks base like the current OPO. That's probably why they're doing 2 phones. I still expect the more premium one to cost less than any other phone but not rock bottom prices.

I'm guessing 400-450 (or 350-400 if they really want to impress) for the premium and the cheaper one will retain the current price point if not be cheaper.

Reading XDA it seems like I'll be running 4.4 for a while and might in fact never "upgrade" to Lollipop.

Battery is paramount to me, especially since I started playing Ingress.

the s6 should be holding the L for being such a copy of the iphone

It is an entire industry of small rectangles with touch screens and cameras. We are at the point where any innovation is likely to be little more than a gimmick.

That said, I must have missed the iphone unveiling that had dual curved glass, heart rate monitor, true app multitasking, and wireless mag stripe payments.

You do realize the turbo is getting 5.1 while most those phones could be stuck on 5.0 indefinitely.

Does anyone here use Google Inbox? If so, how do you like it compared to Gmail?

I downloaded it yesterday and I'm not sure how I feel about it. First thought was to go straight back to Gmail, but I figured I'll give Google's new way of thinking handling email a chance. I really don't think Gmail was broken, so the motivation to stick with Inbox isn't very high unless it drastically improves the email experience for me :p

I really wish the iPhone had wireless charging support so that I can just have a common wireless charging pad at my desk for my phones. I had to buy a stupid USB to lightning adapter to reduce the amount of wires on my desk thanks to Apple's proprietary bullshit.

I don't think the S6 and especially the S6 Edge look anything like the iPhone(except for maybe the bottom of the phone). The back of the iPhone looks more like the HTC one than either of the S6 models looking like the iPhone.

I'm really tempted to go with iPhone after I am done with my z3c. The iPhone is truly a beautiful device.

I think the S6 Edge is easily the best looking phone ever, IMO of course.

Very nice G4. I just hope they make more versions of the official backs. I would really like a textured plastic/rubber back for grip.

Does anyone know how reliable Vizileaks is on their rumours?

"Sony's going all metal with the #Z4. Iconic power button getting a refresh too with a built in touch finger print sensor. Out September"

Hmm. Interesting idea, but that button is going to have to be significantly bigger to get a fingerprint sensor in it.

Like a thicker phone.

But I absolutely think that there shouldn't be any Android phones shipping without a fingerprint sensor by 2016.

Lollipop is horrible with all the dumb shit they decided to do. I don't think I'll update again until at least 5.2 if they ever decide to fix it.

Do any of the alternative browsers support swipe to go back, like safari on ios? Would be nice to have one that could smoothly whoosh through a long page on GAF without stuttering too.

Edit: hmm, none of the suggestions seem to be super smooth when scrolling. Habit seems nice and quick - Maxton seemed quite slow when opening the mobile GAF menu for instance. And habit lets you map swipes to forward/back. So going to try that for a while, see how I get on. UI is quite busy though, and I can't work out how to get the address bar to pop up.
UC browser. It's fairly smooth with the scrolling, although seems to have a slight hitch when you initiate the scroll.

The seam in the middle can't help me think it looks like a football. LOL

Also my SO got the G2 lollipop update. She has had no real problems so far, but they changed shit so she is like wtf they have to go and change shit.

She does this anytime there is a UI change. LoL

If they had just skipped that ugly ass seam in the middle it would've looked great... Hopefully, since it's most likely gonna be removable, they'll make backs of many different kinds of materials that you can hot swap.

I mean, the leaks had a ton of different styles for the back, so as ugly as this is, it's probably not gonna be the highest selling version.

Sure, but all leather versions had the seam. If they'd make one without it, it would be great. And different materials of course.

I don't think it looks too bad, what would deb annoying is using it on a table. The rounded back is already not good for that, the stitching down the middle would just make it worse. There are multiple backs to choose from so it doesn't really matter.

If they keep the removable battery and sd card you're going to see a subset of Android fans jump into their arms, they're practically the only major OEM that still has those two features still.

This is why I have a hard time giving OEMs shit for not backporting their new UI designs to older devices. The majority of people will wonder what happened to their phone, not think "Oh yay!"

So google buys softcard and instead of updating the app create an entirely new app for the same purpose

Now i'm stuck with softcard on my phone and it can't even be used or deleted

Another thing about my resolution problem on my Nexus player. even downloaded shows (in 1080p) refuse to play in the actual resolution they're in and are incredibly blocky....what the hell is this problem? it's seriously baffling me why it won't work when neflix and google play movies are fine.

I'm not really digging Flipboard as much as I did with Blinkfeed.

Is there any way to make Flipboard show only gaming news, for example?

It's hard to even find a gaming category, and it requires you to at least have 3 different favorite topics.

I have yet to find anything that I would say I like as much as blinkfeed. I think newsrepublic is the closest that I have gotten to my blinkfeed needs but flipboard is pretty meh
This is where the s6 takes another L.

Yeah Blinkfeed is pretty awesome. But only cause you could seamlessly swipe into it like a home page.

Sucks you can't use without the Sense launcher. I also gave up and just started using Flipboard with my Nova Launcher. I set it as a swipe up on the App Drawer icon for easy access.

The home page should show only the topics you chose. Didn't know it required 3 topics though. Gonna be a pain to set everything up again when my Edge comes in
