Android |OT5| The Sonic Cycle

My Xperia Ray (don't laugh?) is starting to go insane so I should probably change for something else.
I won't spend more than around 150€ so I guess it's a Moto G 4G...It would be a first gen one though. 2nd gen is around 50€ more I doubt it's worth it?

I guess future android updates would be out of question but it's probably not that big of a deal.

I don't use my phone for many fancy things, mainly as a web and shitty f2p machine.

Am I doing it right with that choice?
Sorry I hate to be that guy but I'm feeling rather lost with this.

i agree with everything osiris said as a fellow moto g owner

Z4 looking like literal fire with the 810 chipset.

Dust proof.
Water proof.
Not fire proof.
Caution: may cause burning with minimal usage. //If you own an M9 you're probably already suffering this anyway so come get better battery life.//

Its a decent choice as long as your OK with some sluggish performance and a terrible camera. It has fantastic battery life.

2nd gen has a better camera but worse battery life. You are better off getting a 1st gen moto x then a 2nd gen moto g.

Many thanks to you both! :D
Going for the moto G 1st gen then. I never use my camera anyway.

it been 2 weeks , and the phone doesn't heat to that level
even when the degree is 42c ( i play too much on it ) the battery don't drain that much

You can just dunk it in water when it gets hot then.

The Z3.1 looks like good old Sony, I mean I like my Z3, but nobody is buying them, they are not as available as they should be, but then they will still moan about low sales. Clearly something is wrong then if nobody buys your phones that all look the same! And no it wont help releasing a thinner new version each 6 months. Nobody will go and say "ooh its 0.2mm thinner now time to buybuybuy" or whatever...

As an Sony employee I would be pissed and scared, another batch of cutting jobs is probably incoming for another Sony flop.

Z4 makes me very happy I bought a Z3. Barely any change other than CPU - similar to the point of why bother spending money to make it 0.4mm thinner? Just ship it in the same chassis and save some money.

Wonder if they ditched the magnetic charger? That desk charger looks to use the now-open USB port on the bottom.

Thinking of buying a tablet, wish the Asus ME572 was available in Canada, anything similar as a successor to the nexus 7? Might just end up buying a N7 off ebay at this point.

introducing ,, the Z series for the next 3 years ( if the mobile branch doesn't close )

i really don't get it , why reduce the battery ?

Looks like its an S6 for me then....unless there is something else due out soon?
G4 is near future

After that is still Moto X, Oneplus 2, nexus 2015, Note 5. Then I think we're done? Unless I'm forgetting something. I am seriously considering supporting LG for possibly being the only one to put a 3000mah battery in their phone lol. Guess I'll see the rest.

I'm not sure I get the Z4. Sony just randomly announces it (though I would too if it sucked). It's just a Japanese announcement? This is what they have for the year? They're either completely out of money or they have another flagship for the rest of the world coming later.

And then they wonder why their mobile division is going outa bidness.

Isn't that One plus event thing today?

Yeah, it's not the 'true flagship'

received an Ascend G7, i will use as a secondary phone. Really destroys Moto G as a budget device around 150 - 200€, awesome battery life and 2GB of ram, LTE. Once you undestand the confusing EMUI UI , and replace its launcher, currently using HTC's Blinkfeed launcher, it is really serviceable: quite fast, doesn't lag very much, takes good photos
When it receives lollipop this fall it could also improve performance a bit if its 64bit SoC took avantadge of 64bit support on Android 5.X (it won't but....)

Also feels quite premium with its metal finish and slim design and it even comes with a case :)

I figured Oneplus would do away with invites by the time oneplus 2 comes out. Though it seems they'll still be doing it when the OP2 firs tlaunches. I guess now we wait for the Q3 phones after LG.

LOL at OPO playing everyone with hype. It works.

Anyone has experience replacing the digitizer on an LG G2? Mine took a two foot fall this weekend and cracked all over. LCD works fine though, but touchscreen works only top half, so I can't put in my pin code, lol.

This year just continues to disappoint.

I wouldn't say that completely. Samsung kilt it and LG looks like they will likely kill it overall. M9 disappointed.

Seems like this Z4 isn't really the flagship of the year for Sony. So there's still about 5 big phones left to go. Flagship wise assuming LG doesn't do something super weird we will be 2 for 3 in goodness.

I'm saving the real disappointment for motorola/nexus :p

IO better have multi screen for stock Android. Keep stealing OEM ideas.

I've been a bit out of the loop on phone stuff.

Have there been any rumblings on the next Nexus devices? Or word on if there are even going to be any further Nexus devices?

First the rumour was that Huawei was making it. Then it was LG. Then it was both of them.

LG seems like the safe bet. That's all so far, which is good news because it means one is coming. Good nexus leaks don't usually come until later.

Nice little update. That combined with the LG Watch Urbane (unless the 360 v2 impresses) might push me over the edge.

I do hate the way Google announce updates that arent out for a few weeks....grrrr

Is there a new moto rumoured for this year? I scratched the screen on my current one and getting it fixed is near impossible so might spring for a new one.

Yeah, the rumours flying about are all good too. Both switching to Snapdragon and getting rid of the silly little black bit. Also Moto Maker customs.

EDIT: Just found out that they added Moto Maker to the V1s too.

Nice the black bar doesn't annoy me as much as I thought it would but the processors lag is annoying. The first version of android wear was especially really bad.

Yeah moto maker for the 360 was out from last year I think not much options on it afaik

Think that TI chip was the cause of the battery life concerns as well.

The Urbane is going to be hard to beat for me though. It's looking great.
