If they really wanted to help, they wouldn't have even posted this list online. God, when it comes to issues of national security, people can be so stupid.

in theory, if Anon was right, and if the intelligence agencies hadn't caught this data, and if those agencies didn't trust Anonymous's evidence, this gives people an early warning.

However, I agree there are dozens of other effects to disclosing this if it's true.

If it's all fake it's bad in every way.

It is idiotic informing the masses about this. If the public knew about every single terrorist threat the world faced over the last few years there would likely be mass panic. Having the information in the public eye makes dealing with it much harder.

Like I think it's a little naive to assume the FBI or whomever already maybe know about this and this interferes.

I mean the guy behind the paris attacks was like known to authorities and was being watched and he was still in and out of that city multiple times and was finally killed IN Paris. Richard Engel likened it to Bin Laden being caught in queens shortly after 9/11 and I sorta agree.

So if if this is True then Good on Anonymous, because the authorities probably don't know everything.

If there is one man that can no-sell a suicide bomber is John Cena.

he was secretly Superman all along
ISIS then proceeds to shit their pants
seriously this is why i sometimes wish superheros were real
Superman would fix the ISIS problem in a day
once they realize bombs and bullets wont work theyll give up

why bother with cena? we already know the man for the job

FBI official: taking #Anonymous report about #Isis threat @ #WWE event in #Atlanta seriously @wsbtv #BREAKING

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/fbi-taking-anonymous-isis-threat-seriously-atlanta/npSN9/

ATLANTA — FBI officials have confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that they are taking seriously a report about an ISIS threat at a WWE event in Atlanta on Sunday.

The hacker group Anonymous said Saturday that it had uncovered information about Islamic State group attacks in Paris as well as locations in the U.S. According to an article in the International Business Times:

"Anonymous also said the Islamic State group is planning an assault at the WWE Survivor Series event scheduled to take place in the Philips Arena in Atlanta Sunday at 7.30 p.m. EST, as well as attacks at multiple events in Paris. "

Channel 2's Mark Winne spoke with the director of the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, Jim Butterworth, who said his agency is working closely with the FBI, the Georgia Information Sharing and Analysis Center and others in evaluating the threat on a Sunday WWE event in Atlanta reported by the group Anonymous.

I hope this isn't true.

If it is I hope the authorities are informed and will do something about it. I will inform my french friends just in case.

I don't quite agree.

They could feel like they have solid info, and they could pass that info on to the authorities, but if they aren't privy to whether the authorities believe and are acting on that information then I could see why informing the public would be the actions of someone really wanting to help. At this late stage it could mean disrupting a plan, and there would be the potential to save lives.

Why are you shitting on the FBI for something that happened in France?

Anonymous is not helping via engaging in these pointless twitter battles. All ISIS wants is more name recognition and fame among young people.

If they have really managed to uncover vital information, then hopefully the authorities can use it to track these bastards. But I am skeptical.

Umm I don't think ISIS needs more name recognition amongst young people after the Paris attacks. I'm pretty sure they have it in spades

This is where I stand as well. If they find info, give that to the FBI and let professionals actually handle it instead of causing a panic. Daesh wants us to live in a state of fear and panic.

Anonymous may mean well but really it's hard to win.

If they ignore Te reports and something happens there will be hell to pay. But if they take them seriously (which they kind of have to for EVERY report), it could just be misinformation which will dilute resources.

I'm pretty sure the CIA and EIA know more than these guys.

And are smart enough not to blurt it out to media.... If Anonymous miraculously found some new info, the correct action was to quietly alert authorities. For a group called anonymous they sure do crave public attention.

they might benefit from employing some actual security professionals. though I'm not sure what the Mil-Ind Complex would say about deputizing internet vigilantes to fight terrorism....

I understand that going public with it may cause more panic... But fuck man I should know if I'm in danger for going to such event. I'd rather avoid it thank you very much. I mean if the authorities knew and they didn't tell people about it, and the attack happened because they tried to deal with it undercover but people died anyway, what do we call that?

What I hope this doesn't turn into is a bunch of people standing outside of Philips Arena carrying a bunch of guns waiting to harass anyone that looks Muslim to them.

And I was supposed to go to the Falcons game tomorrow. Wonder how much security is going to increase for that?

fuck em. they don't deserve to use the name of Isis. and they don't deserve to use the word Islam. They don't deserve to be called anything they recognize, so fuck em and call them what you like.

can we call them the
Sandy Butt Alliance for Jackasses? SBAJ sounds super unthreatening.

Keep in mind there are hackers out there beyond what fbi or others can possibly do. there will always be crazy amazing hackers around that just cant work in office buildings or work for someone.

The goverenment obviously has more pull but they won't always have the skill or creative senses to detect everything. Don't think a hacker cant just cause you see some kids playing kill PSN and XBL

Besides, anything can be missed and picked up by chance by anyone.

Wwe and ffdp? I hope anon aren't throwing out troll targets for fun, kind of looks a bit that way.

Yeah. I question whether it's that or they just picked up some planted info from some terrorist, with the intention of scaring everyone or being a distractor. let's hope not.

The thing that worries me is how specific the locations are. im sure it might be BS but yeah, still a little concerning.

If this is accurate why didn't they forward law enforcement their information and not publicize it? Other than for attention I mean.
