Anyone order RE4 from gamestop and still not have it?

Recieved this in the mail today:

are currently having issues with the delivery of the Resident Evil 4 Collector's Tin. If these
issues are not resolved by January 21 we will follow up via e-mail with further options.

Reading threads with people just walking into gamestop stores and just buying them. I've been patient, and i haven't been too bothered as WoW is taking a massive chunk of my free time, but this is getting out of hand.

How would you react to this? I dont want to cancel and i can't go into a store (i'm from Australia). Gamestop has been seriously shit the last few orders... in fact, i think the only order to EVER ship on time was my NDS.
 
The thing is that they giving priority to all americans (I live in Sweden) before they ship this Collectors Tin outside the States. The same thing witb EB and their exclusives.

I pre-ordered my Collectors Tin back in october 2004, and they didn´t shipped it at all when it was supposed to be shipped. I received the same mail as you did, and even one before (just checking what was wrong with my order) saying:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for writing to us at GameStop.com

This item(s) is currently backordered. GameStop.com will search through our stores and attempt to find the game for you. For rare used video games it may take longer. Keep in mind we do not charge your credit card until the item(s) ships to you. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Your GameStop.com Customer Service Agent, Tress

I sent an e-mail back to them:

Hi there!

How come the game was backordered for me, when I pre-ordered it back in october? The fact is, that the money is drawn from my account already when the order was "processing", so I hope you won´t try to charge me more when the actual order will be shipped. Is there a chance I wont get this version of the game at all now, even when it was pre-ordered long time ago? :(

Yeah, they actually took money from my account, without shipping.

Still no answer from them, but then I logged on to their site and saw this:

I talked to someone at Gamestop today about my order and they told me they lost a shipment of like 480 of the collectors tins and it was likely they would not be found. Don't know if they were blowing smoke up my bum or what but that's what was said. I cancelled the order and thanks to my totally awesome luck they let me keep the soundtrack for my troubles! Yeah, they were originally going to make me send the soundtrack back, which I would've gladly done since it's JUST SONGS FROM THE FRIGGIN MOVIES?!?!1111onezerz.
 
Then i received this:

I got my RE4 the old fashioned way; Drove to EB, walked up the counter, said "RE4, please," gave them my cash, went home happy. It's not the collector's tin, but I have the game and that's a little more important than some freebie that'll end up in the closet collecting dust. :)

Not that I don't dig freebies. *gazes over at his Donkey Konga shot glass*

Same here, woo. I logged onto their site last night to see that the order was listed as shipped, and then I received two emails from them today confirming the fact. Should be here by Thursday. :)

Well, first of all, where do you live? And for the second part...did you get the soundtrack as well? It was listed as "cancelled" for me.

My order looks like this:

I got the soundtrack today. It isn't even a RE4 soundtrack, it's just a disc with a bunch of shitty metal bands on it. I think it has something do to with the latest movie... :mad

Hasn't this been widely known by now? I would have imagined people would be more informed of these things!

Yeah, I know about the content on the soundtrack, but did you get it with your Collectors Tin from Gamestop? And the picture on the cd-case is Leon, right?

I live in the U.S. I got the soundtrack yesterday, when I was expecting the game.
