This thread is going to be a dumpster fire, isn't it?

Probably. In any case ...

I hope she wins in California so that Bernie doesn't think he can take it to the convention. That + winning NJ + the delegate math...

I align more with Bernie than Hillary but the way he's handled his campaign has been shit. I also think Khaleesi is more better suited to beat Trump (and help the Dems win downticket races). I need to see a blue Senate (somewhat likely?) and House (pipedream :( )

I dunno, seems like a cheap way for the media to declare her the nominee before the California results. Almost like they don't want people to come out and vote for Bernie.

And no, don't call me out for being a hurt Sanders supporter. I know he won't be the nominee.
Almost like we're all sick of people pretending Sanders has a chance

Cool. I was down for Hillary or Bernie.

Voting Bernie tomorrow, but was down for either for the general.

The SCOTUS is what matters to me. That and fuck Trump and Republicans.

lmao these reddit comments are delicious, and I was originally for Bernie, but fuck his crazy ass supporters.

I won't get in trouble for posting some crazy ass comments people were saying, right?

Sneaky plot by the Sanders campaign. Announce Hilldawg's win the night before the primaries to hurt her supporter's turnout /s

Chimps and humans have 96% shared DNA. Pretty much the same, right?

Hillary is a hawk that has supported the Patriot Act. I am having pangs of conscience over voting for her. Sanders has been losing my confidence as well over his increasingly paranoid attacks on his peers.

I think both will do direct harm, so I have trouble voting for either.

Maybe I will, in the end, but the interest isn't there right now.
I'm sure the people who suffer under Trump's malevolence and incompetence will be glad to know that at least you didn't have to feel bad by voting for the person running against him.

This is true, and I feel the same way about voting for her, but she's better than Trump on both economic and social issues. Significantly better. Look at it this way, Hillary can be a capable, center-left steward for the country until we can get someone more ethical and progressive in 2024. The country will be much more to the left then, and with a friendly court, there's no telling how much we can accomplish.

That's a win for me.

Controlling the supreme court for the next 3 decades is the single most monumental thing that's been possible in a presidential election in decades.

I'm sorry, but if you don't vote for Hillary because she doesn't align perfectly with your worldview, and this is from someone that dislikes her vehemently, you're a hypocrite and don't care about progressivism in this country.

Didn't know there were so many Bernie haters on Gaf. Oh well, maybe next time we can get a more liberal president.

Ultimately we're not going to see the more liberal policies we want until people stop throwing up their hands and instead ensure they vote in down ticket races and governorships.

If you're going by voting record, she was 11th most liberal Senator during her time in office - and she has been criticized for flip-flopping even further leftward since that time period.

There are more liberal Democrats to be found, but any suggestion that she's not well within the mainstream of American liberalism is misguided and/or disingenuous.

But she doesn't stump for free college and healthcare (and isolationism and the dismantling of global trade but hey).

Good.

Now get out Bernie.

Who am I kidding? He's staying...

Give it a few days, Clinton was allowed a few days before a concession speech in 08, we owe him the same. Now if he pulls a Jerry Brown 92, then you're allowed to rightfully scorn him.

So AP called a bunch of superdelegates until they got until the magic number and declared Clinton the victor huh?

Does that make you angry?

I was mad at her for holding out back then too.

SAN FRANCISCO – U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ spokesman, Michael Briggs, on Monday issued the following statement:

“It is unfortunate that the media, in a rush to judgement, are ignoring the Democratic National Committee’s clear statement that it is wrong to count the votes of superdelegates before they actually vote at the convention this summer.

“Secretary Clinton does not have and will not have the requisite number of pledged delegates to secure the nomination. She will be dependent on superdelegates who do not vote until July 25 and who can change their minds between now and then. They include more than 400 superdelegates who endorsed Secretary Clinton 10 months before the first caucuses and primaries and long before any other candidate was in the race.

“Our job from now until the convention is to convince those superdelegates that Bernie is by far the strongest candidate against Donald Trump.”

What if Obama says "Psych" and pulls his supreme court nom?

That was always his intent. His nom was never real it was all just to show how idiotic the current house and senate are to try and get the american people off their collective asses to fix it.

I have doubts, judging by the apathy of many progressives now that their golden boy lost, that it'll happen.

Meh. Will vote for her if it looks close and if there is any distinct possibility Trump might get in, otherwise I will vote for Green.

"Thanks buddy"

Right, because he should totally go against his morals and vote for Her so another person that goes against his morals doesn't win.

I mean I'll be doing that if need be, but I'm not enough of a jerk to tell others what to do with their vote.

Donald Trump won fair and square though.

This could be avoided by simply using the popular vote.

Maybe so. In which case Hilary has an over 3 million lead in popular vote anyways, so nothing changes. Or do you honestly think Bernie has at getting over 3 million more votes than Hilary gets in tomorrows results and DC?

If he won California 90 to 10 and took the lead in pledged delegates they would have too. The optics would be terrible and it would completely fracture the party.

Not saying he's going to win Cal 90 to 10, but a situation where the super delegates handed the nomination to an individual who did not have at least a plurality of pledged delegates would completely destroy the credibility of the party.

That's my point, he can't win the popular vote, Hilary is ahead by over 2 million primary votes. Superdelegates who are mostly establishment dems aren't going to abandon the will of the voters who selected the long time party member for a person who joined the party a few months ago.
