Why's there so much hype for Guilty Gear Xrd?
It doesn't have too many entrants, and it looks basically just like a Team Stickbug with Bozac.
 
I wonder if Nintendo will use this tournament as part of their balance patch when Mewtwo comes in because, let's be honest, when you introduce a new character there definitely will be some rebalancing
 
I hope they don't nerf Diddy, but instead give other characters better KO power/setups. As much as people hate Diddy, he's actually fun to watch imo.

This always happens to Ken post 2007. Even on survivor he was ultimately disappointing. WHY DON'T YOU JUST WIN THINGS FOR ME KEN?
 
Watching 4 and melee next to each other just shows how slow 4 really is.

Not really...unless you mean matches are slow, which is only because everyone in Melee is made of glass and the old edge guarding mechanics made recovery a lot harder. I prefer the way 4 does things.

I don't know why so many of you want super quick matches. Get over Melee. Being different isn't a bad thing.
 
Please explain this Ice Climbers grab for the noob here

I was away for a while but was the Ice Climbers grab Wobbling?

It's an exploit where if you grab an opponent and position the Ice Climbers just right as to allow Nana to input F-tilt commands while you're pummeling, the enemy can't escape and you can pummel them infinitely into a kill.

Ice Climbers get a grab and they desync to have Nana jab (or Ftilt) while Popo pummels. For whatever reason, the jab/Ftilt stops the grab from breaking no matter what and it allows the Ice Climbers to build damage -- it's essentially an infinite but it takes some slight practice as you need good rhythm to do it (though it is easier to do than their handoff chaingrabs).

They can only rack them up to percent where they're guaranteed a KO (150%-170%) and then they have Nana do a Dsmash, Fsmash, or Usmash for the KO.

It doesn't differ, the same characters are good in Japan as here -- though not as many people are willing to just switch to Diddy on a dime afaik like in America. But the general top characters are considered the same.

The only difference between the two has always been rule sets esp. in Brawl where the Japanese had a 10 minute (!) timer and Final Destination as the only stage.

And why isn't that shit banned?

It doesn't make them OP, ICs have to work hard to get the grab and it's easy to prevent them from getting the grab. It barely makes a difference in the long-run for them. They haven't won any majors with wobbling unbanned and they're overall still good even without it.

It's a tourney-basis thing. The Big House has a ban on the technique, Apex has historically allowed it. The issue is the fact that Ice Climbers' grabs are generally not that good to begin with and actually landing the technique is immensely hard, so people are split on whether it's good or not.
