Best Buy gave me $200 for my iPhone 5 when I bought the 6, and I traded it in 2 weeks after launch.
And my phone was pretty beat up
Yeah. The event is on the 9th, pre-orders will go live 11th and the following week on September 18 it should release.

I really hope so too. You can buy a Verizon phone full price if you wanted to, but an actual unlocked phone has more bands in it for international travel, and costs the same amount as a full-price carrier phone
I'd jump in instantly if those were available day one, but generally they're on a couple-month delay

Verizon sent my parents both early upgrade e-mails, but to get the early upgrade, you have to trade in your current phone (5S), and then still pay full price under the new device payment plans.
So get the new iPhone 7 months early, but lose $200-400 from trading in.
Why would you do this when you could pay full price at any time? Are they removing the trade-in value from the full price?

Yes. Left Sprint last fall.
my understanding is that it’s tied to a serial number of a device. so it can be transferred to a new owner, but not a new device.

They sent me a similar email and my upgrade date is September 22, 2015. So, They are going to let me upgrade a few days early...but I have to give them a $400 phone to do it? How about no...

I saw BestBuys deal this weekend for an iPad mini 3 (16gb) for $299. I plan to use it for light work use and Marvel Unlimited. How soon until the mini 4 is out? Should I save my money and wait?

Mini 4 will probably be talked about on Sept 9th, but not released for a few weeks after that. Mini 3 has BARELY any advantages over a Mini 2 (it's all the same internals, just the inclusion of TouchID) and $299 is the cost of a 16GB Mini 2

Exactly. Using a Cartwheel deal last week I got a mini 2 for my wife's mom from Target for 199 plus another additional ten percent off.

I'm currently kicking myself because I bought a 16GB Air 2 thinking that would hold me over for like 5 months before the Air 3 when I could get a 64GB one, and then I'd sell off the Air 2. However:
A) I bought the 16GB Air 2 on discount through a work promotion, which I used up ON the Air 2 so I wouldn't be able to apply it to a future Air 3 for one year
B) Because I bought it through a work promotion I'm not supposed to sell it for a year, so I can't even sell it to lessen the cost of a 64GB Air 3
C) All signs point to there not even being an Air 3
So yeah, good decision making on my part

I'm on Sprint so my options are already limited, but I looked, and the only thing that comes close to a 5 / 5S are the Samsung Galaxy S_ Mini line of phones. S4 Mini would be perfect, but I don't get a discount through my contract. I'd pay $100 extra over a (soon to be free) 5S for a slower(?), less-supported phone. S5 Mini is a bit bigger and I don't think Sprint even has it. Same thing for the Sony Xperia Compact line, plus some of those are too big anyone as someone pointed out.
Dark horse candidate for the dozens of us who like small phones:
Update to the 5S line, exact same physical design (thus no leaks of new shells from factories) but with newer internals more in line with the 6 or other newer Apple phones.

Amazon doesn't sell iPhones. Some of their 3rd party sellers do, but most of those third parties will probably be charging scalper-prices for the next couple months. I'm not sure if you can use Amazon credit on 3rd party sellers anyway though.

We won't, as Apple don't announce the RAM, will need to wait until it gets into the hands of others next week.
It will. iPhone 6 was intended to have 2GB, they just had yield issues.
As it's one of the most watched conferences in existence, I too can see them do that. The timing for Nintendo's reveal are about right.
I'm not sure that Nintendo is big enough to be at an Apple conference, unless it's a Mario or Pokemon game.
I would love a full Pokemon on iOS btw.

Went from an iPhone 4s to a Galaxy S6 earlier this year..Really wanna go back to apple after how crappy the Galaxy experience has been for me. Might just wait till next year with the iPhone 7 tho.
No one should be buying a iPad Mini 2 or 3 if they care about multi window/multitasking. This is the most important feature that Apple has borrowed and unlike notifications, their implementation is near flawless. This is something that should also be on the iPhone 6+ because I have not seen them to anything to the software to take advantage of the size, which is just silly.
