iMac yes! Really hope there isn't an AMD switch like rumored.

What are we expecting for iPads? A8 is a given, probably Touch ID, what else? It isn't lacking in resolution or performance (RAM aside) and the form factor is good. Improved display maybe? Have the 12 inch tablet been taking of?

It will be. The Mac PROs are already using AMD graphics, and I'm sure they're going to want to keep it consistent along their product lines.

Good. I need to know what's in line for the iPad so I can upgrade my 3rd gen either to the newest model or to a cheaper Air.

New Apple TVs would be cool!

My friend has the last one and it's kind of a pain to use; slow, typing out stuff sucks, and randomly stops streaming and requires a reboot. The app for Netflix specifically is one of the worst versions of Netflix I've used.

Give it some Siri integration with the remote (like the Amazon TV thing) and that would make a difference.

Any other rumors for iPad upgrades other than the fingerprint scanner? From what I read this seems like an incremental update.

As for the resolution of the new Retina iMac, OS X Yosemite betas include references to 6400 x 3600, 5760×3240, and 4096×2304 resolution screens. Apple has been rumored to be working on a 5K iMac display for launch later this year, so perhaps that’s the direction Apple will take, and a recently introduced DisplayPort standard update could make this a reality.

holy... crap.

does Yosemite have the vector UI scaling turned on yet?

I believe there's been a few cases of them mixing between AMD and NVIDIA for graphics (or offering different options at different prices) so it's not impossible. Can't think exactly but I know at least one PC where they offered a choice and in 2009 I think they had an AMD and an NVIDIA model available before they switched to AMD for a few years and then back to NVIDIA.

fucking hell I just upgraded from an iPad 1 to an Air

Always a good idea to check the buyer's guide, Apple is pretty routine with these sort of updates.

You sure he has the "last one" and not the 2nd generation? I had two 2nd-gen Apple TVs and ran into that same problem - would randomly stop streaming and required reboots. I bought 3rd gens last month to replace them and it's been great. The 2nd gen, since it can be jailbroken and 3rd gen can't, gets almost double its original MSRP on ebay.

Even though I have the 3rd gen I'd still also like to see something new with the Apple TV. :D

If all else is staying the same, much better battery life, I would guess. 802.11ac MIMO as well.

I was waiting forever for that iMac upgrade.

I am assuming it is just the internals but that is cool with me.

This is fantasy but a price cut would be nice too!

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, the resolution-independent UI stuff in Mac OS X was shelved a while ago, in favour of the current pixel-doubling approach.

Yeah, it's tough to know when to buy, as it's not like they update them like clockwork at the same time every year. ;)

Those resolutions (at least the highest one) could just be like the higher than native resolution on the retina MBP, scaled down for more effective screen space. 5k would be pretty cool though.

You always think Apple can't go even thinner, and then they do.

Rumors banded about of a screen upgrade to 'retina' 5120 x 2880.

They should consider adding support for styluses even if they themselves don't want to include it. As a student, the Surface Pro is looking really good just because it comes with an awesome stylus, all the ones I have tried (from cheap to expensive Bluetooth styluses) have sucked compared to what Android/Windows offer. I am assuming because iOS doesn't have an API for third parties to use.

My ipad3 is still going strong but wouldn't mind upgrading it (finally) so we'll see what's being offered this time around.

Will probably stick with the Air model as I prefer it over the Mini.

if a 27” retina iMac is ready for this year, i don’t think i can hold out. i love my retina MBP, but I want my external screen to be higher res, too. I’ll probably trade up.

iPad 3rd gen is getting long in the tooth. Here's to hoping I can snag a mini Retina refurbished after this for cheap. Provided nothing in the new ones is must have.

Looking forward to this. My 3rd Gen iPad gets a lot of use, and it's about time I upgrade since it's showing it's age. I just need to see 2Gigs of RAM in the new Air.

If Apple are posting their Quarter results on the 20th, I bet they hope that their shares will go up.

What could it be? If they announced a black macbook pro, I think I would flip all my shit. I kinda don't want them announce it as I am happy with my 2013 retina MBP!

Yes! Can't wait for Yosemite. Also very curious to see how expensive a Retina iMac will be. Probably around 4k I'd guess.

I think it’ll be less. I don’t think it’ll be double the cost of the most expensive current 27" iMac.

I’m hoping for around $2500 or less but I wouldn’t be surprised if it started at $3000
