Are comedies dead?

There is a little movie called Hamlet 2 that is worth it if you never saw it. Idk what it is about Steve Coogan's performance that just makes me die sometimes. You may have seen previews and thought it was some kind of garbage musical, but it's so much more

Edit: oh also Louie CKs new special is a banger. He is relegated to the dark corners after the me2 masses went all out on him, but he operates independently now.

Steve Coogan? Instantly interested, going on the list.

Apart from Saxonage which was utter wank and an excuse for him to insert his fetish for cars, the majority of his work is pure genius. You could quote a line from Partridge and still get a laugh. His BBC online show was fantastic too, showed he hadn't lost his chops at all.

The Lynn actress was stellar too, how she kept a straight face for even the final takes is beyond me. Brilliant actress.

Take a watch of this. It might explain why comedy suffers in this day and age. New "anti-woke" comedy announced for BBC Radio 4. It was only announced and not a single script has been written, yet just by calling it anti-woke, it sent the Twitter attack dogs into a complete meltdown.

Never was a huge fan of comedies, but we're in an era of spectacle for movies. Youtube is full of comedy that is free for consumption, and I suspect that's why it's having a lull.

Comedy is dead because everybody is so freakin’ sensitive about every little thing these days. You have to watch what you say or risk getting “cancelled.” :messenger_grinning_sweat:
