Was going to say something... similar I guess lol. Sudoku is by far the game I play the most on my iPhone. Number 2 would be Bejeweled.... And I am very proud of this. Why, cuz its what I do and I really like myself.

Not sure why women would get mad about this list if it was as stated based on legitimate input. Of course it does not represent all women... they didn't get input from all women. I don't understand what the big deal is about different demographics having different tastes. One is not better or worse. If it makes you happy, fuck everyone else and let them cast their weak ass shade (if they even do) while you live your best life.

Fortnite's player population is 73% male, which is actually pretty low. Even Overwatch is 80% male, and games like DOTA2 are 95%+. Warframe is probably about that number.

Women don't play these games, period, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I would personally love to see more female fighting game fans it's just not going to happen, i think it's safe to say that most male gamers want more women playing, but it should happen organically and we shouldn't have to change our hobby to try to make it more inclusive, which hasn't proven to really work anyways judging by this list since they still won't play AAA games in any significant number

No matter if it was in primary, middle or high school, college or work life in general. I've literally never met anyone in the real world who gives any sort of shit about what games a woman plays. If she likes casual mobile stuff that's cool, if she likes Dark Souls and The Witcher that's cool, if she likes fighting games that's cool, if she ask to join a party every group I've ever been a part of has been welcoming and nice to them.

It's not really clear to me why this would be problematic at all.

The only thing I could think of is like somehow it's important that AAA games appeal to women and since those listed are not AAA console games it's giving those AAA publishers and developers a "pass".

So it allows, say, the developers of Hitman to say "listen women aren't really our audience" and so they can ignore feminist criticisms etc.

What I don't get is why these kinds of folks put videogames on a pedestal? As if videogames are the trendy new thing and developers are like rockstars and if games just have the correct politics they could change the world.

Its too much.

You can't even admit that statistically most console owners and frequent game purchasers are male. While a lot of female gamers play on their mobile device.

Is it because certain interests want to force developers to develop games in a certain way? Then an admission that the vast majority of female gamers are playing well away from the AAA console space makes a lot of the "feminist critique" irrelevant?

Hate to say it but MOST women are not hardcore gamers like men. MOST. Heck, my wife only plays Peggle! Abby from GB plays Nancy Drew and the Sims. It's not sexist because it's pretty accurate. Many women LOVE COD but most don't. Heck a lot of interviews with women they state their favorite game as Pac-Man. Most women like chill, non-violent games. But people can't handle the truth and get triggered.
