Thanks for the heads-up, was going to watch that tomorrow but I'll hold off until the information is revealed in the show. I like that she's this mysterious character we know nothing about.

If they put a clip of the end of the interview without that information, I will post in here. They just came right out and were dropping the information like it is normal info, with like no build up. They are hilarious together though. And the clip they showed of the two of them on the show was great.

Episode 2 was equally great but it missed that Raimi charm. The amount of blood spilled was hilarious, I love it. The
fork scene
was pretty gross, holy crap, haha. Not sure about the cop plot though, but maybe it will tie together later on.

Fuck that rating news though. :(

wow - just started watching the first episode. It's amazing. really hope it gets picked up for more seasons and has good numbers.

though the cg doll was expensive and shitty

how are other shows ratings on starz? im not familiar with any other shows on starz

I just saw the interview from the Colbert show and not the whole thing, but the info they gave has been in interviews, unless there's more to it than what I saw.

I hadn't seen the other interviews, so they maybe have been openly talking about it for a while. It doesn't bother me at all, but I know how sensitive people on GAF get with anything spoiler. Just look at any Star Wars thread for proof of that.

Really enjoying the show so far!
...Also loved seeing Bruce Campbell do his best Colbert impersonation hahha

Yeah what they said during the Colbert interview has been talked about for a while. They openly mentioned it during the comic con panel before the show even started for instance - it's not supposed to be a big secret I think. Won't spoil it here for people who want the be surprised obviously.

Enk

makes good threads.
Lol at Bruce's Colbert impression. As for the spoilers and the clip they showed, they haven't really been all that secretive with Lucy's character since the first Comicon panel a while back. Once you
know her last name
it was pretty much a given. The clip they showed though seemed like something that's going to happen much later on in the season with some extra characters we haven't been introduced to yet and possibly
at the cabin
.

Any link to the clip they showed?

New episode tonight!

Books From Beyond

A mysterious woman stumbles upon the devastation at Kelly's parents' farm, while Ash, Pablo and Kelly continue to search for the Necronomicon; and Fisher faces a terrifying, inexplicable scenario.

Just finished watching the third episode, great use of CGI and practical effects, I loved the book part. Now I want some more Lucy Lawless.

Good episode. Pablo is becoming an actual character. I don't think they have had much good fight scenes since the one at the end of the pilot though.

Do we know any numbers for StarzPlay ratings? I'm guessing that page gets a lot of traffic from Ash Vs the Evil Dead, especially with them putting the episodes up early Maybe that and the social media hits have been enough to make Starz feel confident in the shows future.

How did you see it so early? Am jealous!

New eps go up on StarzPlay and OnDemand (Comcast OnDemand at least) at 12am on Saturdays before it airs.

If this show doesn't get a second season (I know it technically got "renewed" but that doesn't mean it'll happen) I will be super pissed at all of the people watching this illegally and I know there are a lot of them. Some people in this thread even had the balls to admit they want to watch this without paying for it. I bought a Starz subscription specifically so I could see this show. If you don't want to pay for Starz fine whatever pirate it but you better buy the damn Blu-ray when it releases to support the show. We're not going to get an Evil Dead 4 so I want this show to ride as long as possible. Don't ruin it for the rest of us, pirates.

easily the best episode so far, this is a legit good show and definitely recommendable at this point

some great ash quotes, too and the
demon looked incredibly good. sfx have improved a bit, also loved the animated book. only bummer were the glass shards

Easy_D

never left the stone age
The design
on that demon was really fucking cool, seemed very inspired by Del Toro's Paleman, but cool none the less

Fuckin' Bruce Campbell is killing it

The third episode is fucking great! Nice intro to Lucy Lawless' character (well, again). Great Ash dialog and hilariously bone headed logic that leads to more problems. Think this is my favorite episode so far.

On demand viewership figures aren't released to the public, but we do know that the second episode rose to 566K viewers in L+3, which is up from the 276K who watched L+SD.

The second season will happen, barring a major actor death or something of that nature. The show is performing decently for Starz and they've never retroactively cancelled a season that was already ordered.

Saw the first 2 movies today, prefer the 2nd. Did they try and reboot the series? It starts out like the first movie never happened, save the necklace gift.

Another fantastic episode to a fantastic show. The quality has not dropped at all so far and it continues to really impress me. So excited for more! :D

This thread has died down a LOT. Did most of you guys lose interest in the show already?

I thought this episode continued the awesome! The creature was creepy and awesome and I also liked that those things in the jars started to come to life which added to the overall creepiness of the episode.

Damn, that was great. That demon was freaky as hell. Great design.

It was. I loved how the kept the mouth stable while the body vibrated.

Also am I the only one who who the thought the demon was like the ghost that killed the camera lady in the House on Haunted Hill remake.

So if the show continues with comparable numbers to this, could we eventually expect a season 3 (your guess)?

Show is still going strong. That monster design was way above average for television.

Ash suggesting the demon updates his picture made me laugh out loud too.

Not as funny as the previous 2 episodes, but the horror factor was amplified by the demon design. Another really good episode in the end though. I hope they keep the balance of horror and comedy that they have had so far. I have no doubt that they will though.

The on demand being posted that early makes it really hard to know how relevant ratings are. Also the torrent numbers are insane. That said Hannibal also did well on P2P sharing and we know how that worked out.

Gotta say I think it would have done better 5-10 years ago. There were just too many false starts with shit like Ash vs Freddy vs Jason that I fear some people moved on. I'm gonna pissed as fuck at Starz if they pull season 2.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Cool demon design, the only sore spot in the effects were those glass shards. I'm so glad Lucy Lawless is in this show, I can't wait to see more of her character. Plus, you know it will be great when she finally meets up with Ash.

Is this show enjoyable if you don't have a cue about any of the IPs involved?

The show stands well on it's own for newcomers. I would recommend watching the movies because they are awesome but you can jump into the show without having seen the films as they quickly summarize the events of the movies early on and allow new views to enjoy the ride without having scene the films.

Also Ash losing his hand... I bet he's going to be getting some sort of upgrade or something coming up. We have nearly NO footage of later episodes. So I'm expecting some wild surprises coming up. :)

Such a badass character. Her scenes in this episode cemented her as an awesome character for me. Glad we can expect more or her in the later part of the season and season 2.

It's way too early to really say and it's hard to take a guess like that without knowing the total viewership that only Starz has access to (also, you'd have to take into account budget, network expectations, how their other shows are performing, and the variety of other things that Starz cares about). Possibly.

I thought the third episode was the weakest so far. It was just missing the humour for the most part and the writing was noticeably really bad by comparison to the first two. The conversation in the car especially was incredibly poor. The demon had a cool design though.

I'd like to see an episode where they don't fight anything and just give us some lore and character building. I liked the book of the dead stuff in this one but it seems like they feel the need to put demon in there to fight for Ash to fight. So far the last two episodes have felt exactly the same where they arrive at a location, talk in the car a little bit then fight a demon.

Still enjoying it but if they do this again next episode I'll start to worry if there is any meat to the story or just monster closet fan service.
