Yeah the last couple episodes have been pretty disappointing and slowish. That being said next weeks episode does look promising:

Not sure why Ash VS Evil Dead trailers for new episodes are being yanked from YouTube but someone was able to bypass the YouTube copyright filter to post the trailer.

Just caught up on the last two episodes. Definitely weaker episodes playing towards the shows weaknesses rather than strenghts. Too much exposition, sort of generic character development, and not enough action and humor. Still had it's moments, but the show still needs to figure out how to make everything beyond Ash and Pedro kicking ass and cracking jokes compelling. Next episode looks to at least get back to what the show is good at though.

That missed chance to have ash say "groovy" at the end of episode 5. Omg how did you miss that?

As Enk pointed out, that whole scene felt like a missed opportunity. Adding a "groovy" at the end would not have saved it. That line has to be earned.

Indeed. End of Episode 1 was perfect for this. I don't want it overdone at all. It should complement a scene, not save it.

Thanks, looks like it dropped some but seems stable so that's good at least. Live ratings seem pretty damn good too (I think).

Agreed, you guys are right. It should be a complement not save it lol. Really hope they rev things into a higher gear in the coming episodes. Latest one just seemed like I was watching any other show on TV.

God damn this show is so good. Reminds me of early seasons of Supernatural with the rock classics, demon' hunting and travelling. :)

Hopefully Lucy Lawless' character plays off somehow by the end of the season.
I guess she went to Hell or made a pact with the Deadites? I think the highlights of the episode were Ash's cheesy attempt to get laid and using crushed diner mints with water as aftershave. Kelly's bit with the Deadite was also great. Thought this was one of the better episodes. I still think the one in the bookstore where they summon that demon is my favorite episode still.

I know it's 30 minutes. the intro was rushed . How Amanda just left with little to no emotion of what happened Lucy Lawless

Omg that kid getting shredded

More over the top gore please

I'll post my full thoughts in a bit, but as others have said, episode 6 was pretty great. The preview hype from last week did not let me down.

wow @ that fan kill. I was not expecting that.

I knew someone was going to get killed by that thing when it showed it spinning really fast. Still, didn't expect the kid to get killed by it like that.

And wow, this episode wasn't fucking around. Probably the goriest one yet.

makes good threads.
Much better episode than the last one. The gore moments were on point, and a lot of fun dialogue throughout (though Bruce's delivery of the "dine and dash" was cringeworthy). Something that is growingly irking me now that we are six episodes in is how boring the "Evil Dead" portion has been since the pilot. I've stated before that the deadites lack that insane flare that Raimi's had, and this episode continues that trend, but there was more than just the deadites in the films. No director has attempted scenes like a headless Linda dance, or a laughing room of possessed objects, or even the two headed Ash. There was a book attack in this episode but it was dull compared to what we got in Army of Darkness. Come on writers and directors! Shoot for the fences and have fun with the evil!

I'm guessing after the next episode the last three are going to take place at the cabin. I think after the next one I will just hold off and binge watch the last three and treat it like an Evil Dead movie.

No quick thoughts this time because of how straight forward this episode was. I did find it funny how quickly Amanda has come around to Ash's side.

Fan kill was the best. Enjoyed the episode although I'm more confused than ever as to what's going on with Lucy Lawless' character.

I enjoyed this episode. A lot of good scenes in this one (the whole bar fight was amazing, but I really enjoyed Ash vs the cop in the bathroom).

Not sold on the cop though. She seems kind of pointless to me. I wonder what's going on with Lucy Lawless's character (Is she dead? What was the Deadite talking about? Seemed like Lucy has some history there...).

Great episode. The ice skates to the head were awesome.

Glad to see the ratings are good and getting better in the long run.

Hey guys, the one who appear in this episode
is really really Evil Ash, right? That would be so awesome and a perfect opportunity to bring the plotline that Ash = Evil force.

Best episode of the season so far, best kills and one liners, and finally Amanda isn't chasing ash anymore which was such a lame plot point, but instead teaming up, an expected and more appealing point of interest.

Does anyone know what make Pablo's bike is?

Loving the show so far. Best one liner for me overall is "Shoot first. Think never." That made me laugh out loud

I feel like they're slowly going through it to be introduced, I have thought this too, but I also am reasoning it's because they don't want to pull all stops out in the first season. There's been a few moments, but they've been used sparingly (the best moment of this outside of the finale ironically I think is Ash's trip-out scene, specifically when Ash is in the jar and the doll return).

I also am almost 100% sure they're building up to a fight with
Ash's Hand
. But I feel that season 2 may get a bit crazier with what is thrown out them, I was kind of painted with the impression they're slowly revealing more about the Deadites this season and other 'core' elements, and will unleash more once the cabin plan doesn't work (come on, we know it won't work, there wouldn't be a second season if it did work).

This is what I'm wondering as well. It's been a fun ride so far but the Evil Dead part seems really toned done, which has been unfortunate. I'm hoping that once they get to the cabin they unleash the crazy. Hopefully the cabin won't just be another pit stop and they spend most of the 2nd season there where they are forced to come up with more interesting scenarios due to be trapped in one location.

Or maybe it does and the 2nd season is just everyone hanging out at the cabin, relaxing and having many wacky adventures. Series would probably be re-titled Ash vs Life (I honestly would probably watch that).
