Haha, I know what you mean. A lot of my friends have some pretty O_O views on women / race / etc... but I like them because they're my friends, so I just try my best to avoid those topics.
For example, I have a friend who literally ranks guys by height. To me, that's just as "ehhh" as a guy that ranks women he dates by their bust sizes... but what can you do, right? Can't go around policing the whole world ._.
As a short (5'7" is short right, I've been called short before...) man I am outraged and I hope you introduce your friend to #notallmen.
I cut my friend some slack because we're from different places and just interacted/interact with different people. And he's not malicious about it. He's hardcore Libertarian, which isn't too bad as I just roll my eyes when he claims that the government has never done anything good before. But I will call him out when he stereotypes women.
He's not a hardcore misogynist or anything, but he'll just say things like no woman can think this way or all women are this, etc. I always argue with him on these points. it's funny how he still can't wrap his mind around the possibility that not all women fit into a stereotypical category, when he knows that Asians don't enough to make jokes about the stereotypes. And yes, I know that he knows they're not true. That's why the jokes are funny.
