You can continue playing after the story ends

Any tips for collecting feathers? I'm getting down to like two or three in each area and going crazy trying to mop them up.

I just finished the fourth main memory mission, but I feel like I've completed so much. I've totally upgraded the villa and have purchased all available upgrades, weapons, and armor. Completed every side mission I possibly can and am raking in 12,000 florins from my town every 20 minutes :lol

Got one question besides begging for feather help: I paid for long and two handed weapons training, got a message that said a weapon was unlocked for each one, but they haven't shown up in my mansion. Do they unlock later in the story or something?

Map and Screenshots of all the feather locations sorted by district

If you aren't aware, you can see which districts you are missing feathers in via the DNA menu.

AFAIK Training only unlocks skills, not weapons. Also AFAIK you can only get long and 2-handed weapons via disarming

Regarding districts, does the DNA menu break it down to the districts within an area? I've got 99 and am missing one somewhere in Venice.

Yes it does, it breaks Venice down to 5 districts

That is all.

The one that looks like a dress ? Dude Naw.
A simple variation of the base Ezio armor would have been much nicer

Quick question. I'm early in the game and I can't figure out why Leonardo isn't showing up on my map. I just
escorted my mother and sister to the next hideout/town
but even before that, I couldn't find Leonardo anywhere. He gave me my wrist blade and then disappeared. And I've got two codexes to show him. The map legend says he's an "L" icon but I don't see it.

He doesn't show up all the time. I'm about 7 memories in, and I've only seen him 4 times including the very first incident.

You'll be told to meet him in a story mission a little later on, after which he'll start appearing when ever you find a new codex page.

At the end of the game I just went and revisited all of the feather locations systematically by district using maps marking them off as I found them with an X, or with an 0 if I couldn't find one where it was supposed to be (from being stupid enough to collect some during regular gameplay). At least with this system, if I was still missing some feathers after going to all locations I had a narrower list to "revisit" where I wasn't sure if I just didn't find it or if I had already collected it.

The wise thing to do with collectibles if there are a lot of them is to avoid picking them up at all during the game, or at least have those maps handy while playing through to mark the ones you find as you go.

By the way I hate collecting bullshit like this in games, but at least the feathers weren't as bad as the shards in Infamous.

Has anyone been able to achieve 100% synchronization (I'm at 99.2%) and fill in the courier, assassination, beat up, and secret location sync markers?

I've done every possible quest available to me and scoured every map for something I might have missed. I've even done 3 DLC special maps (2 that came with my LE, 1 redeemed from UPlay), and it seems that I'm STILL missing something. (I have no assassination, courier, or beat up missions missing, but the general marker won't fill up. I am missing a secret location somewhere, and suspect it's that third DLC map that only came with select EU SKUs...)

Edit - Despite the lack of 100% sync, I did enough to get the game's Platinum trophy!

Hell no. I stopped with the platinum trophy, the rest is just filler. Good luck with your OCD though! If I was aiming for 100% and got stuck at 99.2 I'd probably have a breakdown too.

Have you picked up all the treasures? I did all the side missions/secret locations, maxed out the villa and picked up all the feathers/armor/treasures and I'm at 100% synch.

330/330 treasures (though there were actually MANY more than that in the game), 100/100 feathers, villa's at 100%. I've done every single side quest that has a DNA strand. The only DNA strand that is missing is one secret location, but I can't imagine what it might be, since I've scoured all of the maps and haven't seen any templar lair/assassin tomb icon indicating that I missed one.

"Secret locations" are semi-hidden areas with treasure chests within the tombs. I guess that could be it?

No, I don't think so. I think those locations and their chests do not count towards the tallies. Besides, those locations are not named on the DNA strands, so I wouldn't even know I was missing one, were that it.

The secret locations on the DNA strands are the actual templar lairs/assassin tombs, each of which is unique (and so has a unique DNA strand). One of them is dull in my game, meaning I haven't found it. And it can't be an assassin tomb, since I found all of those, got all 6 seals, and unlocked Altair's armor set. I must be missing a templar lair somewhere. Time to scour the maps again, I suppose.

The villa rate simply refers to collection completion.
If you pause the game, access the options, and hit up statistics, you can see Desmond's sync rate with Ezio. I think I'm just one map icon/marker shy of 100%, but nothing's showing up on my maps! :/

Well, I just gathered my last 13 treasure chests in Venice & my synch rate didn't even change a decimal. I'm stuck on 98.4% with one historical building left in Romagna apparently & two secret locations according to my DNA stats. I have no symbols anywhere on my maps now.The only Templar symbol I've ever seen was from that Uplay map (which sucked ass btw).

Secret locations are secret locations in the Assassin's tomb. The extra tombs don't count because only certain people with certain editions of the game would have 100% ...
When you find a secret location in the tomb there's a pop up saying "secret location found" and it should add up in your Villa's stats (or DNA, I don't remember where they are)

.

I've done 2 or 3 Templar Lairs, and they all sucked, IMHO. Some of the Assassin's Tombs were freakin' awesome, though. I'm going to look around after work tonight, and see if I can find one more missing lair somewhere.

Another way to check might be to hit up the database, the locations subcategory, and scan through each of them to see if they have any red, lit up icons on the upper left-hand corner of their pictures. That usually means that there's a secret location and/or glyph there. If the icon is greyed out and barely visible, that means you've found/completed it already.

Definitely not the villa. That's only for item/renovation collection. So if I missed a secret location within a tomb, I'm totally screwed out of getting 100% sync? I never found a way to revisit a cleared tomb... I thought that the tombs/lairs themselves WERE the secret locations...

You can replay any Tomb from the DNA strain.

I would rather poop in my own face than run around gathering all the feathers. But what exactly do you get out of it? I've heard you get a
hammer of some sort at 50 and a cape that makes everyone hate you
at 100. Is there anything else? Maybe I'll bother trying to get 50 if the
hammer
is any good. 22 to go.

What happens to weapons you lose in a battle? Just now I was fighting with the
Altaïr
sword, got disarmed and some guard picked it up. I kept killing guards but the dude with my sword ran off. Is it gone forever or can you pick it up again in your mansion? I'm done for the night so I just quit the game and it didn't save, but I'm curious none the less.

It'll be in your villa in the weapons room.

I got disarmed once. Killed the fool that dared to disarm ME, then when I stood over the sword and hit Circle to pick up the weapon, I regained it (vs. the temporary pick up of standard issue weapons carried by guards).

I got into a battle at one point where I lost both my sword and my dagger as a result of the CPU guards disarming me. I was dumbfounded... Especially since they were really expensive weapons. I joked with my wife that I felt like Johnny Cage in the first MK movie; "those were 500 dollar sunglasses, asshole." Thankfully I recovered both after leaving the guards lying face down in their own blood. :D

That's when you bust out the Hidden Blades and go for straight out counter-kills!
They'll all go down in one hit to a well timed counter from one (or both!) of those! :lol

They should be free, because they sucked ass.
As did the UPlay one (though at least that one had some nice story tidbits in it to make it worthwhile).

Oh yeah, I meant the Templar Lair that came with the EU white box. I was never as impressed by the PoP caves as other here & all you got was maybe 4000 florins as a reward for running through it :lol I already had close to 300k florins by then... The Auditore cave was better but still pretty bad. Something's pretty wrong if free dlc feels expensive :lol In hindsight, all the craze here about what version to get because of dlc was pretty pointless, imho.

Mejilan

It was rendered pointless back in Sept. when Ubi admitted that regardless of which SKU you buy, all of the "exclusive" maps would eventually be available to all.

But I agree, the experience was lacking (especially the Templar Lairs) and the rewards ridiculously nonexistent. Beat the game with something like 800K florins! :lol

The Assassin's Tombs were generally awesome, IMHO.

I guess the DLC won't be the
"missing segments" - 12 and 13
but more tomb stuff?

Too bad. I don't mind the tombs, but the timed tombs combined with the awkward platforming (jump forward, not diagonally, you asshole!) made them almost unbearable.

Mejilan

Really? I thought they were significantly easier than they should have been. Thought that the free-run mechanics worked very well and that the timing was overly generous.

I just beat the game and was pretty surprised at how awesome the ending was. Unfortunately I just realized that the game stopped giving me trophies at around memory 7, what a PILE OF HORSESHIT. What the fuck. How is this game coded so shittily that I can't even get credit for trophies. I was wondering it was a little odd I didnt get anything for beating the game and lo and behold nothing. Is this like a common problem or am I just fucked?
