Story in a game is like a story in a porn movie. It's expected to be there, but it's not that important.

It isn't a binary element man! There is a scale of badness! Too high on the scale (and not into the sobaditisgood section) and it will mean a less enjoyable experience for you.

Halo had a bad story and some call the games good. Uncharted has a good story and the latter games are bad. Then you have good games with good story (Oddworld) and bad games with bad story like GTA4.

Dalton was an awesome Bond. Wilson did another great script that took Bond in another direction and gave him some purpose outside of the usual role.

Certainly expected it to be better accepted in a post Casino Royale/Skyfall universe but it seems like it still gets pretty mixed reflective reviews.
