Beautiful Bones 9 - well that moved me more than I expected. I guess because I have my own family cancer issues. And it was nice to get at the main characters a bit more. I'm more interested in that than I am the cases.

Yep, all of the original characters will be present in some form, but there are also a number of new characters not shown before in the main story, like
Mayuri's cosplay friends, Daru's future wife, and some people from Kurisu's university
.

KyoAni has nothing to do with the new FMP anime. Unless you're saying that the publisher of the K-ON manga, Houbunsha, could order a new adaptation of the series from another studio, as Kadokawa is doing with FMP. That is certainly true, but do you want a K-ON anime from Ordet or Satelight?

That Haruhi spinoff wasn't terrible, so I wouldn't mind!
I guess I'm just waiting for KyoAni to enter desperation mode. The fact that there's more Free! has to be a sign.

Well, I say whoring inasmuch as it took so long for them to drag it out of mothballs. It's like CBS trying to make a new Star Trek show in 2016 long after Star Trek has stopped being relevant.

A sign of what? Free is a successful series that KyoAni owns and that the directors and animators at the studio enjoy doing. Given that they are both promoting their own IPs and taking on other IPs that they care about, including the high profile film adaptation of A Silent Voice, I don't see KyoAni entering "desperation mode" any time soon. Nor would I want them to, given their unique business model and operation in the anime industry.

Firehawk considers Sound! Euphonium a boring, rote sports series, which lacks any of the character drama he wants to see.

Kyoani won't enter desperation mode anytime soon considering how successful they've been. Let them do what they want as they create great shows.

Oh, that I know. It's just, maybe he'd have a change of mind if he'd actually watched any of it. Especially when he's looking for more K-On which, as far as I'm concerned, has way less character drama than Eupho actually.

Kind of feels like CR is playing catchup on Hulu since Hulu has a great back catalog and CR mainly focused on simulcasts. Jin-Roh was already on Hulu, as are a lot of their recent pickups.

Either way more exposure is great.

I'd rather they get more films than generic TCG cash in #4532.

Jin-Roh is a really seminal work that stayed with me for a couple of weeks after I first watched it a few years back. It would be cool if they got Perfect Blue because that had a similar effect on me.

Personally I really want someone to release Perfect Blue on Blu-Ray in North America already. The UK BD has been out for years already!

Yup my copy is sitting on the shelf to the right of me. I'm not overly fond of Anime Limited but they did great on that release. I'm hoping they might get Paprika in the future so we can get a similar release.

FMP fan over here, trust me you don't. The waiting period of trying to figure out just how bad the thing you've waited years for, is the absolute fucking worst.


Like straight up the absolute goddamn worst.

So this is the path to endgame, huh? Each Cure gets a multi-parter to resolve some issues and (presumably) awaken their respective castle. You can even see in this episode there's a light reminder of Minami's internal conflict, just to keep it fresh in everyone's minds while we finish with Kirara. I can dig it.

You're lucky! :p In North America all we have from Kon on BD is the Paprika release from Sony Pictures. It's a nice disc, honestly. First anime BD I ever bought, actually!
