Okay! That's good enough for me. =D
So I'll do a hard playthrough, 100% that, then go to new game plus. Phew.

It's doable but it's definitely more varied and forced you to think this time around.Montresor said:If someone answered my previous question, I apologize if it seems that I've ignored it. I want to be careful skimming the thread in case of spoilers. =p
What I really want to know is: how hard is the hard difficulty? Is it totally doable just like the Asylum game or have the upped the difficulty big time?

Ulgh. This is taking forever.
Yea, they respawn. I beat it by only taking out like, 3-4 of them, then going in on the main guy for the pounce. Takes some patience, but it's a great level.Epyon MX said:Are there infinite goons in the very last Catwoman encounter? Thank you!789shadow said:Two-Face will constantly call in reinforcements. Once you take out Two-Face, the whole thing is over.

:\
For combat you really want continuous free flowing combos. That's how Batman is most effective and how the game expects you to tackle massive numbers. You want to be jumping from one guy to another, constantly hitting with critical strikes and countering or dodging when necessary to keep the chain going.zlatko said:Okay cool. I always get confused when games have only an auto save feature built in and don't let me do a manual file as well.
Played for about 3 hours. I'm about to go hit up Mr. Freeze. Fun so far, but as someone who only played AA for like 2 hours and then setting the game on hard here I find combat to be a bit of learning challenge for me. I looked in the manual and then was greeted with this 2 pages of nothing. I checked the controls and saw nothing that was saying, "do this once you beat someone up a lot so they stay down."
I've found early on I'm just doing a lot of mashing between X and Y, and if I can get one enemy away from the rest then when I get him on the ground I can Left trigger + Y to punch him in the head.
Am I doing it right? Separate and conquer ?
Noriega said:LT+Y
wat lol
Well yeah, you hardly have any gadgets either. Plus all the fancy pancy combos are for the challenge maps anyways.
The combat is however mashy you want it to be. However, button mashing in challenge rooms won't even net you one medal. You have to be precise in your movements.zlatko said:Was that at me? Yeah sorry I was SMH at what I was supposed to do to keep enemies down for the first few encounters. I don't think the LT + Y to punch people on the ground tool tip came up for me until like I reached Joker's place. Up until then I was just mashing X and Y.
My one battle gadget I've been using right now is the electric gun thingy. Not having AA experience under my belt definitely made the first few hours hard, but not frustrating, which is great. I like a good challenge, but I'm hoping the combat is less mashy going forward.

Like hell they did. I thought they were pretty good and challenging in most cases. If there's one that seems impossible, come back later when you have everything and you'll probably figure it out... or think of a different solution. I was stumped on one for the entirety of the game when it just clicked and I realized I could've done it from the beginning.Sean said:This is my one big complaint, Rocksteady went overboard on the Riddler stuff in this game imo. hamchan said:LT + Y is kinda bad since it often amounts to Batman getting hit from behind. The only thing it's good for imo is during predator sections or finishing off a round in the combat challenges since it's worth 75 points. Much safer to just build up a 5x multiplier and then use Y+B to instantly take down an enemy if you want to clear a room quickly. Also yeah, button mashing can carry you through the game but you'll probably get hit a lot too. You have to be Batman, don't get hit the whole game!

Such a beautiful intro though. I would've been completely ecstatic for a full level of that.LiK said:yea, basically a challenge room. i was disappointed.
God forbid they add challenging puzzles with interesting mechanics that require you to think about how to solve them, amirite?Sean said:This is my one big complaint, Rocksteady went overboard on the Riddler stuff in this game imo. I much prefer the way it was handled in Arkham Asylum.

They're optional. Don't like them? Can't figure them out? Simple, don't do them.

The Ra's al Ghul one. That was so awesome! It wasn't that difficult, it was just really well done - trippy and surreal. It kind of reminded me of the test that R'as put Bruce through in Batman Begins, but amped up to an extreme more appropriate for comics or video games.

like, Im supposed to be saving hostages but I also wanna do story missions.
I dont want the hostages to die if I dont actively pursue these missions...
