All of Snyders Movies were improved with a longer cut. Yes, even Sucker Punch. Doesn't mean it's good but definitely better.

Because the Theatrical Cut was badly edited. Even if it felt too bloated many times there were several parts were it felt too rushed and many things didn't get explained properly because they were cut to make the movie shorter.

No amount of editing is going to fix the justice league stuff.

Well I am definitely going to watch this. The pacing and editing were my biggest problems as you could tell there was a lot of stuff cut out to fit the theatrical time. I'm not expecting the movie to suddenly be amazing after feeling very meh on my first viewing, but I do really want to see the full story before passing my final judgement on the movie.

Snyder continues to cut rad trailers.
Don't you mean "spoileriffic" trailers? I'm still salty about how much the BvS trailer gave away. I could basically piece every big moment of the movie with them with the sole exception of Supes dying but even then the mere prescense of Doomsday made his death predictable as shit!

Can someone explain to me why this trend of launching movies in digital days and even weeks before the bluray/DVD? What gives?

Also two weeks is a lot! Star Wars and Deadpool weren't even a week between digital and disc.

Get fans to double dip, especially on properties like this. Other films, I'm sure it's a way to prevent people from hitting up a video store (yes, they still exist out there) or redbox.

Yeah I actually agree lol. That's really something that should be cut out.

This looks to be included in the UK BR release (unless they found another 30 minutes somewhere) but I'm a little confused with the 12 rating. It's a hard 12 rather than a 12a (which it must have been at the cinema, as I took my 10 year old daughter) but surely there can't be content that would be R rated in the US and only a 12 in the UK?

We're getting a cut version, aren't we? :(

Looking at bbfc.co.uk it seems that they haven't rated the BD release yet.

German FSK gave it a 12 so it can't be too hard I guess.

Seriously weird how the Knightmare scene made it in before scenes of Superman being Superman shown here. I know it's a big IMAX action scene, but for the story it's a whole lot less relevant.

Hoping for less Lex and less Doomsday.
Trailer looks great.
Barbara Gordon wearing a wig. Trailer already is a 10/10.

The Watchmen Director's Cut was an improvement on an already rad movie so I have faith

The Extended Cut of Sucker Punch was also much better than the theatrical cut. There was a full sequence that established each of the girl's personalities and worked much better as set up than what was in the final cut.

I'm definitely interested in the extended Africa scenes and more Clark in general. One of my problems with the movie was that Clark's internal conflicts weren't highlighted enough. The theatrical cut definitely hints at them and prods the viewer in that direction but it doesn't spell them out for most people to really enjoy. Some pivotal scenes tend to suffer because of it like the "Martha" scene I think.

Though, I've only seen the movie once so my memory could be deceiving me. I'm just glad to be getting 30 more minutes of this story because I genuinely loved it when I I saw it. A lot of movies benefit from more time and I see no reason to doubt that more scenes are going to make the movie better.

Bats invading Lex corp where he takes the kryptonite and info on justice league.

I hope they also CUT a lot of things out. Just make a new movie. Use it as a second attempt to cut all the crap out.

They made a trailer for the BR?

Anyway, I can't let myself be fooled again. If someone buys it Ill go over and see it, but Im not spending money on that movie again.

Almost exactly what I was thinking.

I would watch it if someone loans it to me but paying for this movie? I haven't yet and I'm not about to start now.

Yeah, piggybacking off of what a few others said... If anything this movie needs a shortened cut, not an extended cut. All of those dream sequences and Justice League teases that have nothing to do with the movie?

This is the second unnecessary rated-R extended cut WB has put out in, what, a year? I can't decide what's more embarrassing, an R-rated Superman movie or an R-rated adaptation of The Hobbit. Maybe we'll get a hardcore X-treme version of Serkis' Jungle Book as well.

That's how I feel about this. With all this extra available footage, just take a second look at the entire movie as a whole and recut the whole damn thing. Not an extended cut, a recut. I think editing could make this film very different.
But I doubt that's what is happening. Expect the same bloated mess cut as it was, but now with even more bloat crammed in.

As expected:

Was getting caught part of your plan?
Nah, Snyder's said the theatrical cut of BvS was his call. He wanted it to play that way. That's the movie he wanted everyone to see.
Snyder and Peter Jackson - well, post LOTR at least -seem to have a length issue in that both will shoot heinous amounts of scenes than and still make weird editing decisions that don't make sense flow wise

As mentioned above, it got a 12 rating in Germany, so it sounds like needless eating by the MPAA or whoever, not necessarily because there is a bunch of hardcore content.

Sick trailer, I'll be picking this up day 1. I hope the flow feels better this time. I always felt this movie was close to being decent, just a few basic yet very important mistakes held it back.

Will they show Lex piss in the jar. That has to be the reason for the R-rating.

If it's there, I'll buy it... and I want to see Batman writing the email, selecting and changing the size font, typing with two fingers with his tongue coming out at the corner of his mouth, looking intensely at the screen.

I expect it to be better.

I do not, however, expect it to suddenly become good.

Pixar's "Up" told in 10 minutes a complete story of two children who fell in love, established their bond and connections, their motivations and interests, their personalities and flaws, and chronicled their entirely lives together through the highs and lows of a transformative marriage that ultimately ended with loss and heartache, giving both leads a complete, solid, understandable story arc to follow and setting the stage for the adventure to come in the rest of the film.

Having watched BvS, they weren't able to clearly do this in over two and a half hours.

Adding 30 more minutes might help, but the fact they couldn't do it the first time, and yet there was so many boring, dull, pointless shots and slow-mo in the first incarnation, just tells me they didn't know how to tell a coherent story with believable characters with nearly 16x the runtime of Up's opening 10 minutes.

That's what I mean though... time stamps are arbitrary. I good movie is as long as it needs to be. I have no idea what this new cut does to the movie so I can't comment if adding more scenes is the best answer (at best it fleshes out some stuff and adds more depth, at worst it adds more bloat).

Are those the white eyes or are we being misled?!

Is it a full 5 minutes focusing on that piss jar this time? I felt that moment should have been longer. Just in case some people didn't get it.

Have zero interest in this. They needed to remove 30 minutes from the movie, not add them. The movie needed to be more focus with less convoluted side-plots.

I loved Batman v Superman; and I'll gladly watch the Ultimate Cut. Wish the release date was sooner.

I loved the bit with Clark interviewing the gentleman, who happened to be dropping some knowledge on the Bat vigilante. And the African village scene appears to be a lot more elaborate than initially thought. Hype levels set to maximum.

I'm still salty about this post giving away major spoilers for the film. So glad I waited for the Bluray before watching...
