Dead

well not really...yet
Funny he would say that, since editing was some of the biggest complaints I heard people have problems with, I would hope that they would have fixed that much.
It won't change the minds of people triggered about Lex's portrayal or those with strange hang ups about the Superman character and dumb shit like that.

I can see it making a difference for people annoyed at the terrible editing and pacing, as well as the lack of characterization.

Of course. Anybody thinking this will improve the movie is kidding themselves. Probably be worse.

I imagine it will. What I take his words to mean are the folks who get heated and bluster about their hate for it won't change their mind. In broad strokes it's the same story that's ideally told better. If you hated that story, don't expect an apple to turn into an orange.

I enjoyed BvS so more of that will mak me happy no matter how much the internet mocks it.

Good action.

June 28th can't come soon enough.

Watchmen regular cut was alright.
Ultimate Cut is GOD tier.

I don't expect the same reaction.

That said I somewhat expect it to be a better movie... fleshing out character motivations like Clark looking for his mother or the Steppenwolf scene that builds out Lex's paranoia.

BIGTIME TV MOGUL #2
The only thing that will help this movie is the Flash time traveling to the past to warn WB not to let Goyer and Snyder make MoS.

As mentioned above, it got a 12 rating in Germany, so it sounds like needless eating by the MPAA or whoever, not necessarily because there is a bunch of hardcore content.
I mean, The Hobbit was a weak R too. The point is that these films are actually approaching the R-rated territory, which is absurd in itself. This has nothing to do with protecting innocent children, either (although you could make a case that selling toys and merchandise to kids for R-rated films is a little weird), it just speaks to the ineptitude of the two directors. The fundamental issue with these films is that they are stupid, noisy, and unnecessarily violent, and given the opportunity to correct their mistakes the two directors offer... more violence.

This.

This looks to be included in the UK BR release (unless they found another 30 minutes somewhere) but I'm a little confused with the 12 rating. It's a hard 12 rather than a 12a (which it must have been at the cinema, as I took my 10 year old daughter) but surely there can't be content that would be R rated in the US and only a 12 in the UK?

We're getting a cut version, aren't we? :(

Nope - it's just the MPAA are being prudes in this case by being the only board (along with the Irish) to give this cut a higher rating. BBFC, German FSK and Australian boards all kept the same rating as the theatrical cut.

And a 12A rating doesn't exist for home media. That's for cinema only.

I'm one of the weirdos that enjoyed the theatrical cut. You better believe I'm hyped as hell for this!

Plus Snyder has a good track record with directors cuts. I didnt like Watchmen theatrical too much but I absolutely loved the Ultimate Cut. Hopefully this will be similar.

Looks interesting, a ton of new scenes.

The editing for the theatrical cut was awful. With more time here I'm hoping we get a better vision here.

Alfred: "So falls the House of Wayne"

Jesus, overdramatic much? I mean, it's Jeremy Irons but still...

I was hoping Jena Malone would be Hunger Games-level attractive. Here, she just seems sleazy.

"Dumb shit" like two of the film's three principal characters, yeah. Why would anyone care about them anyway.

The Watchmen Director's Cut was an improvement on an already rad movie so I have faith

The reason being that Watchmen is basically a trace over the novel, the directors cut was more of the same, that is why it was so good. Even Zack Snyder couldn't fuck it up because he couldn't alter the story with his usual jank, thank god for David Hayter's script.

This will also be more of the same, hot garbage.

Even the one that he flew through two brick walls is okay.
Ha

The trailer already seems to make one thing clearer. That Superman didn't just show up out of the blue to save Lois, but that he was already Africa bound. This and Clark's Batman investigation should improve the film greatly. They cut the hell out of Superman for the theatrical.

More than anything, the film just needs some scenes reshuffled and edited better. The additional scenes hopefully will flesh out some said scenes, but the whole Martha angle will still be there, along with turning Superman from pivotal character development piece to plot device.

Superman clashing with a missile and the terrorist smiling....
Is it implied that this is the way Supes got framed ?
Like, he hit the missile and the remains of it fell to the village ?
