I should get on watching Louie since I've heard so many good things. Also got The Town in my Netflix list so I'll give it a watch this weekend.

American Hustle is just... I just don't want to watch it lol.

The Town is good. Very good. I had doubts going in considering the director, but it was very good. Argo was good as well... very tense climax.

Once I saw Batman
stop superman's punch
all I could do was

I hope this movie does good and it should but damn Snyder is trying his best to kill this for me.

Same reaction I'm having to this post right now. Have you never seen Superman depowered?

oh damn how did i forget evans. knew somebody was missing, yeah i'd put evans just below renner.

if you want to watch renner when he's actually "on" check out the two-parter louie episode into the woods. he's fantastic in that, really funny too.

and the town and american hustle (boring movie tho)

Have you seen Evans in Sunshine?

Gone Baby Gone is Affleck's best still. but the town is a pretty fun bank robber movie. Plus affleck and renner are cool in it.

dude was swole as fuck btw. i can only imagine how beastly he looks now as bruce wayne.

edit: yeah i saw sunshine

Thought Evans was pretty good in that. I like him a lot as a dramatic actor actually.

this being his first reaction to kryptonite he probably doesn't know what happened to him if anything at all. then batman blocks the shot and he's thinking...oh shit is this forreal.

I've said this before but Affleck looks like a goddamn refrigerator. Dude is so fucking big.

I wrote this before. Superman isn't that strong in Man of Steel.

Also, this kryptonite probably makes Superman human, but not weaker than that.

"It's time for you to learn what it means to be a man (human)"

Yeah but can you imagine losing the ability to bench press a planet without noticing"Hey I feel weak"? It was a great look for a trailer though.

What if he noticed he is getting weaker and hence threw that punch with plenty of power to conmpensate? In the first scenes he looks to be toying with Batman at some point during the fight something happened and it made him get serious, so he threw that punch but it was too late kryptonite or whatever has already done its job and he is totally depowered and human.

I think Greg Miller is right. The projectile Batman shooting at Supes and he catches it like a boss is release some sort of kryptonite gas. And the other scene where Superman strafes forward is full of that gas.

Also, it's all on the same location, because both scenes feature the broken batsignal.

He withstood and overpowered a terraformer that was generating Krypton radiation, gravity and atmosphere by flying into it. The movie shows him so off the charts indestructible, it's kind of hard to believe that he turns into a human with normal weight and have penetrable skin, even if Kryptonite is involved. His power over gravity alone is stronger than anything on Earth. Magic would have a better chance by transmuting Supes into a terran.

Would be a neat twist if Batman's mecha suit was actually enchanted

I think that gas he comes out of is actually smoke from some kind of explosion, but could be gas.

Definitely kryptonite gas out of that harpoon thing though.

Day off, BvS and probably BvS again.

So goddamn good. When you can punch a guy so he front flips and his head goes IN THE FLOOR, I'm a fan.

Superman looks good to me too. Batman was always going to be the one to shine, especially in the trailers. Superman redemption will be in the final act, and his solo movie.

i forgot about those twins. mainly talking the whole avengers 1 crew (which does have some pretty good actors in there no doubt)

ruffalo >= sam jackson > rdj > renner = johannson >>>>>>> hemsworth. but yeah lmao that kick ass kid is prolly worse than hemsworth. i liked him in black hat and rush at least.

ATJ's monologue to Ultron is so, so baaaaad. Like, not mediocre or forgettable, it's downright terrible.

I'm not so sure it's kryptonite that depowered Superman. He has an adverse reaction to that in the comics; it's more like it causes his body to shut down than it depowers him.

He looks like his power were drained, which typically happens in the comics with red sun radiation. In The Dark Knight Returns he is partially depowered by a nuclear ash cloud blocking out the sun's radiation, so I'm intrigued as to what happens in the film, as it's likely not that.

Then again it could just be a case of him being hit with a low dose of kryptonite and still trying to continue the fight, I guess.

Id say it's kryptonite just because the audience will be more familiar with it. It'll make more sense initially at least. "Oh he uses kryptonite? Okay I can see that"

If it's based on the kryptonian atmosphere that weakened him in MoS, that stuff should cause him direct harm as he becomes depowered.

We've seen Kryptonite in the trailer, so its probably that. But this is weapons grade stuff, based probably off Zod's physiology. It may not have the same noticeable side effects that the pure atmosphere did.

Also I saw someone point out a detail; the dude who Batman punches into the ground has a knife stuck in his leg.

Batman has no more fucks left to give.

I was just thinking of something....

Is the previous trailer making it seem like Luther uses Zod's body to create Doomsday, but there's only an insert shot of Zod's body without showing where he is exactly.

Will Batman use Zod's body to help with the creation of the Supe Buster or am I missing something?

Yeah I think the bullet he catches in the trailer is a kryptonite pellet.

There is that giant red explosion in the trailers. There is a chance that Batman sets that up, and it does what you suggest. Did Superman gain power from the sun in MoS? I think he did, so the audience has been introduced to that aspect. That could be it

My theory is that he uses Zod's body armor to build the Supe Buster.

The Gamespot analysis touches on this. It's some kind of gas from the round that Supes catches. You can see the destroyed Batsignal and rainy rooftop in all those scenes. So I'm guessing it's some kind of synthesized kryptonite gas

Nice to see that Batman planning in play. Making Superman feel overconfident due to the ineffective gunfire, then shooting at him as Supes catches the bullet with bored ease. It's the "Hawkeye's arrow explodes in Loki's face" moment of BvS

Good thing this Supes can't bench press the planet then

In the comics he can. I realize it's hyperbole for a movie. The point is he's as strong as anything has ever been in that universe. Did you see when he was fighting that terraforming machine in MOS? That was strong as fuck.

He's strong, probably the weakest a superman has been portrayed on screen still. He struggles holding up a metal structure on the oil rig in MOS which was probably around 100 tons. Routhman lifted a continent. Also, he got pretty shook by mere explosions, and bumps. But I get your point.

No, he adapted to those conditions. It depowers him without causing him harm. Or he would have been in pain the whole time he was strapped down but he wasnt.

Yeah, I could see that happening.

Batman starts throwing shit from his utility belt at Superman. Superman starts clowning Batman. Batman throws a smoke pellet at Superman. Superman flies through it, unaffected. Batman shoots a second pellet at Superman. "Another smoke pellet, didn't you just see m- PSHHHH uggh uggghhhhh ugghgh i can't ugghh oh stop ugggh i can't breath hurgh ugghh".

He got a wicked nosebleed, remember? He adapted eventually but the actual powering down process was clearly unpleasant.

He was completely contained in that environment though. In BvS he's still out in the open in our planet's conditions. Snyder himself has said he hates kryptonite so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he changed what "kryptonite" is and how it effects him.

Another thing to look at is Zod. Zod adapted himself to our conditions and had no trouble going back and forth between them.

Updated the fight GIF with a few more scenes

I want to know how Batman survives being flown through a building. I mean, it's an armored suit but he's still just a man
