Batman v Superman - New Official Trailer

Lets not forget that Doomsday being the third act villain to unite the trinity is going to be a problem itself (if he is the third act villain). Because it really means this final act is dedicated to set up the justice league film, and due to this, the superman / batman conflict was forces to resolve by the end of second act.

That is something that some people has been criticising Marvel movie for and it seems DC is doing it with this movie

Got what?

I kinda want 3 older Batman Affleck movies.

Dude looks good.

Has anyone got confirmation if this trailer was Snyder approved?

Nope, I think this trailer was cut for the mainstream audience and not for the fans like the comic-con trailer.

But a shame that movie studios think they need to reveal everything to bring people in the movie theatres.

Goddamnit, BATMAN is enough and you also have SUPERMAN in your title. No need to reveal more than that.

Fair enough. I guess I shouldn't have presumed that no-one would be stupid enough to be saying this!

I stand by my statements. I have lost interest.

Unless I'm completely wrong, I pretty much know the three major acts of the movie. The trailer also suggests no real consequences to the heroes. Having to pick a side was exciting. Now we know we don't have to.

Compare this trailer to what we know about the force awakens. Both movies should be advertised with the premise, no need to reveal the plot.

Jurassic world and Terminator genesys also had spoilery trailers. I didn't watch them in theaters because of this. I don't like it when movies are outlined and then we just have to fill in the details.

This, so many times. My fav trailer was the Dark Knight one, 2nd or 3rd trailer i think, coz it showed a lot while still keeping away a lot of plot points and suprises for me when i actually watched the whole movie

You didn't know that a movie called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was going to end with them being bros? Did you expect one of them was going to die or something?

I didn't expect the marketing to suck the wind out of the conflict

The conflict of a movie called Batman V Superman

Maybe you can show us where someone said this? It's one thing to think a trailer spoils too much of the plot. It's another to think that there's no need to see the film having watched the trailer, and I don't think anyone is suggesting the latter.

I don't even need to see the movie anymore

I'm sorry, I didn't intend on discussing in this thread because I knew it would come down to people just trashing on the movie. But I found it kind of ironic and funny that it showed up just a few posts after yours, Triggerhappyfel

Oh boo hoo. A trailer spoiled the most obvious conclusion of the movie. Even the damn books featuring those two fighting is a couple pages long and then shit goes back to normal. The only time a conflict between them really lasted any serious amount of time was Injustice.

It's not like you know who wins. You don't even know if there is a winner.

They still should've saved the part where they work together for the film rather than show it here.

It would be like showing Iron Man and Captain America having worked things out at the end of a Civil War trailer, it deflates all the tension.

Yes we know they will reconcile, but we don't want to see it until we're in the theatres.

Another example, it would be like showing the heroes of Force Awakens getting medals for saving the day in a trailer, sure we know the good guys will probably win but don't show us.

I mean this is only the official synposis,

Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Who could've known that they would need to team up?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how seeing what you already know for a fact is going to happen somehow ruins the experience. To me that's about as absurd as seeing the credits and saying "Aw fuck, this movie ends? Waste of time now."

It seems like they fused Zod, Doomsday AND Bizarro into one

im surprised we havent gotten any memes of Clarks "who's that?" look when Bruce gets out of the car

heads at an odd angle and he looks pretty funny

To my knowledge, the primary characters were never ones to hide their identities anyway. Captain America was always known to be Steve Rogers, Hulk is known at least to Government as Dr. Banner, Thor has no secret identity, and Iron-man I'm pretty sure was commonly known as Tony Stark. I'm no comic book expert but from the bit I did read growing up, I don't think those characters went to the lengths to hide their identities like Batman or Superman. Clark Kent is as much a part of the Superman character as anything else, if you're going to do away with the secret identity he'll only exist as Superman and clearly they'r not going to strip away half the character.

Depending on the comic book continuity:

1) Steve rogers had a secret identity if I recall, he used to work as an artist
2) hulk yeah sorta
3) people have forgotten Donald Blake lol
4) iron man was supposed to be tony Star'ks bodyguard if I recall

I don't know. I remember when people swore up and down there was a Bat symbol hidden in Jor-El's armor in Man of Steel. That was obviously nothing. Seeing things that aren't really there.

But that thing is there, in full hd. Bizarro is a terrible character that could be easily fused.

Just looks like fucked up skin to me. Even if it is a backwards glyph it's likely nothing more than an Easter Egg. Like the "Keep Calm and Call Batman" poster in Man of Steel. Which interestingly enough that building turned out to be Wayne Financial.

Has this been posted? Affleck introduced a 2 minute version of the trailer on GMA today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8Sn535mvhU

I think it's better imo.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the cut for TFA. They slimmed down the SDCC trailer when I saw it in theaters.

What is that supposed to be?

To me it just looks like a battle scar, like superman just hit him with heat vision or something and DD is pissed, getting ready to shoot him back.

One thing bought up in that Double Toasted review was the impression that despite the perceived antagonism between Clark and Bruce, there is a fear that it will fade away with the introduction of Doomsday.

I mean, "I thought she was with you?"

That is some "Man from UNCLE, Adam West shit" as they pointed out.

Let's just hope that bad blood and mistrust remains between Batman and Superman.

I'm sure they'll bring it back up at some point like Infinite Crisis, but I really would like it if the league were more professional than the avengers. I want people be friends for the most part. At the very least Hal & Barry, Shazam & Cyborg should be pretty close. There's a lot of really good DC universe villains and I'd rather they not squander it on hero v hero. The only hero v hero I'd like to see is Shazam vs Superman for a couple minutes, and that's just because it's such a historic rivalry.

Premise is completely ruined with that trailer. They should now rename the movie to "Batman & Superman".

[insert poorly photoshopped redux of Batman & Robin poster here]

You seriously thought the entire film was going to centre around Batman vs Superman? They're not natural enemies, it was always going to result in them joining forces.

Well yeah. I never read the comics so I never knew a) what their feud was even about or b) if they really stay pissed at each other.

Why? And how long can they keep the animosity between each other?

Yeah...Shazam Vs Superman needs to happen on the big screen.
