The same "critics" that have Sharknado sitting at a 82%. We're supposed to take these scores serious.

Most be a bunch of hate for Snyder or maybe those critics expected a different movie. Or maybe cause Batman is a lot darker in this. Who knows. Just seems like senseless trolling at this point. User scores will be no different but I expected trolling from them.

Every movie is rated on its own merits and what it is trying to accomplish, not pitted against every other movie ever made in some sort of Movie Roman Arena. RT's % is an aggregate of a Yes/No recommendation, not even a score.

But sure, you can pretend everyone banded together to stick it to Zack Snyder if that makes you feel any better. It' won't ever make it true.

There's a lot of fake reviews on IMDB

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/com..._accounts_are_rating_batman/?ref=search_posts

Taking a look strictly at the 10/10 and 9/10 accounts, you can clearly see they are tons that are only a few days old with only the one movie review under their belts. I won't spam you with all the user account links, but here's an example of what I mean: http://www.imdb.com/user/ur65929724/[6]

I suspect something similar on Rotten Tomatoes. (78% of audience currently liked it)

Great read.

My earliest superhero memory that I can summon up with any clarity was watching the Richard Donner Superman with my dad, and there’s this amazing shot after Pa Kent dies. It’s Clark standing in a wheat field with Ma Kent talking about how it's time for him to go, to be Superman. My dad, in a not-infrequent moment of poignancy says "People say it’s the yellow sun, but if you want to know where Superman really gets his power, it’s those fields."

That's oddly beautiful.

damn, that gave me goosebumps.

Such vitrol.

People really need to get a grip over themseleves. They are making it out to be like its the worst film of all time. Going overboadr here. Why didn't they write this for Thor 2 or shitty Transfomers? Why pick on this film alone?
Batman and especially Superman are slightly bigger cultural touchstones than Thor or a yellow car.

Because the expectations for thor 2 and transformers wasnt the same as for Batman v Superman for reasons that if i have to get into them would be absurd.

And, at least in Thor 2's case, it's not a bad film. It's just a pretty by the numbers film that isn't poorly made and well paced. Just because it didn't excel at anything doesn't make it a failure.

I feel like you didn't even read the article. He's not reviewing the film. He hasn't seen it. He's just saying, "Hey, you're not obligated to go watch this thing if you feel like it's going to taint your perception of the character." It's super tame and a weird thing to get worked up about.

I mean, GQ said this movie will make you hate comic books. Now that's vitriol.

"People say it’s the yellow sun, but if you want to know where Superman really gets his power, it’s those fields."

For the love, someone get Clint McElroy to write a Superman comic stat.

You know, I predicted a 78-80% score, so this is certainly a huge surprise..to say the least. The thing that isn't surprising is the "Why not Marvel?" line that I keep seeing pop up..y'all are a trip. Just enjoy the movie. Whatever the reviewers think won't take anything away from your enjoyment of it..

If you want vitriol, watch the moviebob review.

Would you be making this argument about Sharknado if BvS was sitting at 82%?

Well, these are important icons to a lot of people. Poor or disliked interpretations of the characters sounds like the connecting factor. Batman commiting manslaughter, Superman being "wishy washy". Haven't seen it, don't know for sure, but a lot of reviews seem to mention that the film misses the essence of the two leads in some fashion.

Snyder's comments are not helping to dispel the notion that he really doesn't get these characters either.

This is very very telling. Poor guys.
