Batman V Superman TV Spot 1

I don't get this. Batman gets up, looks Superman dead in the eye and threatens him. Superman doesn't entertain it, flies away. Batman finishes his rhetorical line, which he would've done anyway; also which Superman still probably heard.
It's a joke man. I know that Superman probably heard it but the way the scene is framed it makes Batman look like a bitch when obviously he was manning up against Superman.

That was as bad as "do you now what happens when a toad gets struck by lighting?"

Maybe even worse.

Batman should have ended it with "Yeah you better run...little bitch..."

Batman- "Get your ass up out of here..."

Batman wasn't trying to run him over, if you watch carefully Superman literally stands there while Batman is drifting a corner so he would catch him off guard when he kicks the car.
Why would Superman kick his car, look at him in disgust and then fly away

I detest BvS threads on GAF. So much stupid. Go watch the movie or don't but pretending you somehow know it will be awful is getting tiresome.

Is it fair to say a trailer/tv ad is the short impression of the movie they are trying to sell? Why are some of yall so hurt and surprised if we hate the trailer, thus having worries about the movie? It goes hand and hand. Maybe the movie will end up being great. Doesn't change the fact that BvS keeps releasing bad ads. Now that is tiresome.

You seem to forget that these things are subjective. For example, I find them funny. A lot of people do too. Would you prefer Batman to wise crack about making an omlette instead?

Don't even try that. AoU was wretched.

I'd prefer no wisecracking at all, really. Some out there find Adam Sandler funny too, doesn't mean every movie needs to stoop down to that level.

He's upset about something. What is he upset with? Well, that's the whole point of the TV spot :), you'll have to watch the movie to find out what they were talking about or what the context of this attack was

The marketing for this movie so far has been REALLY bad. Like almost sabotage level bad.
Hopefully it's a case of bad marketing -> good movie. Snyder has so far also made really horrible trailers for this, which is strange because he usually makes top notch trailers.

Not great but ok. Should have shown the door being ripped off. Seems they are trying not to show new scenes and I like that.

Well with the dream, that and the second trailer, looks like total absolute hardcore shit.

Which is why I'm sure the movie itself will be fun.

It's the opposite of other Snyder movies. Hype then disappointment.

Here you go in thinking it's absolute shit, then you're like "hey it was alright, fun time !".

I've never seen so much hate towards a movie since fantastic four.

I get the feeling it's going to get worse.

People are hating it for good reason. The marketing department keeps going up and down with the trailers. They release a really good trailer, then follow it up with a real shitty one. They aren't consistent to the tone either.

Can't be doing that when Starwars just had one of the best marketing campaigns in modern history.

Ah, entertainment culture. Everyone gets so hyped about something, then when it comes out, it is forgotten quicker than you can say "well, that was meh".

Except the lightning in the very last shot being bad (and/or crushed blacks) thus rendering Bats as some derpface - very fine tv spot. Don't really know what you guys are on about. This is a comic book movie.

Looks ok I guess, hope it'll be better in the movie. They need to stop showing that Lex scene though.
It's embarrassing to watch.

I get the feeling this film is going to be hilarious in a manner completely unintended by Zack Snyder.

Superman has literally no character motivation in this film, so it's going to be Batman being an arsehole to him out of nowhere - Supes is minding his own business and Batman is hitting him with a car, sending him kryptonite in the mail, hiding his glasses.

Holy shit, that would be a great scene.

Clark Kent arrives at his apartment to change for work, goes to get his glasses and instead there's a note from Batman.

"I thought I'd borrow these

- Batman"

Panic and hilarity ensues. Supes would probably have to go into work with tourist sunglasses, or covering his eyes with his forearm.

Why would Superman destroy an expensive military satellite and gloat / threaten about it right in front of a General?

Why would Superman eviscerate a man's truck with telephone poles simply for clandestine revenge?

Why would Superman take Zod away from empty farm fields and fly him onto Main Street Smallville to fight him there instead?

Why would Superman take the time to kiss Lois in the middle of ground zero for the destruction of Metropoplis while dozens or hundreds of people must have just minutes before died all around them, or may still be buried alive?

Yeah, in case you haven't noticed by both his actions and his looks of disdain, this Snyder's Superman is really kind of a dick. If I were Batman I'd want to kill him too.

Because the drone was trying to locate Superman and thus reveal his identity. He crashed it in front of the General to make a point.

Why would Superman eviscerate a man's truck with telephone poles simply for clandestine revenge?
Because that same man sexually assaulted the waitress, threatened Clark and then poured beer over his head.

These are silly, nitpicking points that invalidates your argument to be honest.

He doesn't know how to resolve anything with words, which is one of the things the Superman from the comics tries to do first.

He's a dude who thinks he can punch away all his problems. Hopefully Batman changes that and makes him beg.

The concept of Batman trying to run over Superman and having the Batmobile bump off like it's a toy car is so fucking dumb, let alone Superman tearing off the roof like "wtf are you doing bro".

I really, REALLY want this movie to be good, and I want it to be cool. But some of this stuff is just... I'm not sure about this.

It doesn't invalidate my argument that this Superman is a dick, quite the opposite actually. The historic Superman is above doing things like those, he is the classic "better than us" hero and isn't supposed to stoop down to petty human revenge / inconsiderate behavior. I understand the reasons for his actions I listed above, but the fact that he takes such actions (like kicking the Batmobile while being vastly more than able to simply GET OUT OF THE WAY) is evidence of this incarnation of Superman just...being a Super Dick.

This TV spot is just the latest and greatest evidence for it.

Superman Kicks the batmobile.

That was hilarious. Not sure if intentionally hilarious or unintentionally hilarious. I burst out laughing when Superman just gave Batman the look and flew away.

This would be amazing.

Comments like this are so asinine - the purpose of these trailers and TV spots are to sell us the movie, if they aren't doing a good job of that, people will voice that.

Yes, let's blame the trailers for the carnival of stupid dozens of posters display every single time a new BvS thread is made. It's been the same thing for close to two years now. there is no discussion to actually be had about the movie when the same people come by every single time and post how awful the movie is, or how awful it will be, or how Marvel is better. It's so fucking tiring. It's sad that anyone who wants to actually talk about the movie has to go into the community thread just to avoid the carnival of stupid. There is no blaming the trailers, you can only blame the people who make every BvS thread completely unbearable.
