Funnily enough, even DICE seems to think that Recons using the snipers as shotguns are in no way balanced. That's why it won't be one-hit kill even in close range unless it's a headshot.

DICE guy is Kevin O'Leary, producer at EA for FPS', and it's obvious he hates Wookies as much as most people do. No scope, 360 chocolate sauce my ass!
