Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

He's right though. It's not about defending some corp no one gives a shit about or likes. I completely get what you mean about toxic positivity in fandoms and starry eyed fanboys defending trash entries with their lives. I've been on the receiving end of that any time I've voiced criticism of any game before launch, and it's a huge peeve of mine.

This isn't that. How could you have an informed opinion on the game after minutes of gameplay? You don't see anything wrong with that? Did you learn the ins and outs of the maps? Did you test vehicle or heli controls/balance? What about weapon balance? Your criticism doesn't go past "it fucking sucked".

I go on the BF subreddit, and the top posts are all people giving constructive criticism on recoil, map size, heli controls, and more. It's not like the fanbase is adverse to that.
Well, I could write out about a hundred things that lead to me quitting and uninstalling the product in only a few minutes, if you have a healthy human brain this shouldn't be a problem, but you're right, that would constitute constructive feedback, value, but below a certain threshold of bad, especially in light of the previous game, Im just not interested in helping these actual clowns generate revenue on even a microscopic level.

Hopefully Portal turns out cool.

Don't know if this is fake or not but I'm reading reports that there are cheaters in the game already...

Have played a lot today and while its fun I am asking myself if it finds a spot in my rotation of games?

Not 100% sure honestly.

For me Portal will make or break it

If its like Fortnite Creative and lets people go crazy it could be amazing
Yeah, I think I'll have to wait and see Portal and the campaign.
Two of the maps are already tiring me out, the hitreg has been a bit iffy at times, the vehicle gameplay has not been particularly enjoyable for me as well so far.

We'll see how the next week Beta goes, but so far I'm leaning into letting a few weeks pass after launch and only join in on the fun after the comunity has settled and launch bugs have been fixed.

That was a great session. Been mainly using medic and reviving like a madman.

The sniping in this game is crisp, when I played recon on the map in the mountains I ended up pinned by a full squad at mid range. Peeked over a rock and drag scoped their heads off one by one.

Holy fuck when you're in a building and it starts collapsing, the vibrations are terrifying. I just burst out laughing the first time it happened.

It's good, has the potential to be really good if they give us a variety of maps and weapons.

I was so hyped for this but something is amiss for me.

Are the default weapons garbage? I'm constantly losing fights even when I get the jump on enemies. Feels like I'm using a fucking pea shooter. Gunplay doesn't feel good altogether.

Damage logs don't even make sense. I'm constantly hitting people multiple times, get hit once and die. I don't know any of the values in this game but if I hit someone for 22 points four times and they hit me for 18 once, I don't think I should be losing.

The preview from a few months ago felt way better.

Map layouts aren't great either and people are playing like rats. Probably came from CoD.

Can't believe I'm saying this, and I haven't played it in a while, but so far Delta Force is way more fun.

I'm sure they'll make necessary adjustments and I'm still more than likely buying this day one, but it's not doing it for me at the moment. Perhaps I just need to unlock better weapons/attachments.

How many maps are in the Beta? Only had time to watch a stream for about 30 minutes - and what I immediately noticed is that the 2 I saw seemed pretty small for Conquest.

Played for 3 hours today and I didn't enjoy a single minute. It pisses me off because BF has been my favorite multiplayer franchise since BBC1 now but yeah I think it's not for me. It's a good game though, not what I'm expecting from a BF game. Small maps, mostly corridors, choke points, very quick ttk, even quicker TTD, it's just a mess. Previous BF might have been similar to some extent but I don't recall that. Also, many great ideas from previous BF are missing. No more fortifications, no more ammo on teammates, the squad leader is useless, no more ammo stations, no more weather changes etc.. it's straight to the point and it works but it feels soulless to me.

As far as I can see each class only has one gadget in each slot, I would expect ammo and healthpacks in the main game. Also miss motion sensors on the recon class.

Also you can charge up an ability on support to automatically resupply your teammates in your vicinity.

I was having a decent amount of fun at first but likely a wait and see holding pattern for me as well

Like another just posted above (and several others in this thread).....the maps are tiny and people die way too quick. It does feel like a CoD game and not like Battlefield.

If anyone has any more spare keys could you perhaps send me one?
One of my buddies unfortunately wasn't able to watch a stream today...

When I do get killed, it shows me a little infographic showing were I got shot. It seems like you have different damage values for arms/torso/legs/head. Maybe it's a headshot or shotgun thing for you? I feel like people constantly light me up with like 4-5 shots just for me to dive behind some debris or a wall to heal. TTK is sufficiently high (I mean, everyone has pea shooters), and feels almost BC2 levels (I mow enemies lanes with LMGs just holding down the trigger, and it's a solid 5-6 bullets per person). IMO this feels good.

You might be right about map layout. I need to play more to really get my opinion set on this. I like all the ins and outs, with tons of connecting buildings and levels of verticality, but it definitely feels small. This is firmly in the "we'll see" category for me, but you may very well be right there.

Holy fuck when you're in a building and it starts collapsing, the vibrations are terrifying. I just burst out laughing the first time it happened.
Dude I had the exact same reaction as the entire building started caving in around me from one side to the other. Nearly shit myself. I tried to capture the clip on xbox but that seems to be shut off for the beta. It was such a cool fkn moment.

My twitch drops arent working for some reason, i'm stuck on viewing TimtheTatman and progress at 91% even though ive been watching all day.

Tried resetting browser and everything but it's just stuck.

Ugh.

Well that explains the small maps. Why would they put only the three small maps all the beta? Seems like a weird choice. I'm still apprehensive about this.

Mines has been slow as shit too. I've had it up for much longer than 2 hours, and I'm at 42% of 4 hours. It's creeping.

If anyone has a spare key for the early beta... I'd love it. My steam account got hacked and I got effed up. Needed to make a new one to play this but I want to try it now :(

I suggested its because they're trying to win over Cod players.

I think there will be 5 small/medium maps and 4 large maps. So hopefully the first season brings a couple more big ones to keep the balance. I fully expect Operation Metro by Christmas though.

I still get annoyed by folks that are horribly anal about their K/D in a BF game where sometimes you just need to throw yourself on points to help capture them, lol.

Yeah its frustrating. In a good game of rush, you pad your kdr as the defending team, and balance it when attacking

Gets better the more unlocks you get. The M4A1 is a beast at CQC against others with AR's. And pretty decent at mid range fights. Lots of recoil though so in mid fights you have to do controlled bursts.

Also the shotgun is very OP atm and it might be an idea to take it out in out in tight corridors and buildings. Can't beat a one shot kill with relatively fast ROF in those ranges.

I had a few suspicious deaths earlier which seemed to track me behind walls but still only a hunch. Isn't every game susceptible to the DMA hacks

Well, thats a problem for me. I was hpoing they to bring back BF3 experience, not CoD clone.

Lets hope for a more open maps in the open beta.

There is absolutely zero sense of teamwork in this game

I know they are vastly different but counter strike will forever be the GOAT for this reason alone.

Game is a lot of fun, most of the critique this far seems to be "well it doenst play like the shooter I am used to playing".

One quick question. Do you need to unlock the repair torch and supply pack? Been playing for about 2 hours now and dont see them as a selectable gadget but in the loadout they are shown as "signature gadgets". Also it says to pres the "6" key to select it...there is no keybinding on that key.

How is it a signature gadget when you have to unlock it -.- (I know other BF's did this as well and its still stupid, thats the first thing you should learn as a Support player).

You don't have to unlock it? It's just part of the engineer kit and support respectively.

Up on the d-pad on PS. No idea for pc though.

I don't like the CQC infantry focus so far. Don't get me wrong I think the gunplay is fun, but the maps are so small and the veichles don't feel "right." I hope they tweak this and add bigger maps for that real spanning battlefield feeling.

Played around 3 hours and something feels off to me, it's definitely not the Battlefield 3/4 reboot they once again claimed it would be. The maps are too small, the gunplay is too hectic, you can't engage tactically because it's just a clusterfuck everywhere. The best thing about 3/4 was being able to flank bases while the enemy was distracted elsewhere. It really doesn't seem possible in this.

Maybe I got lucky, but the squad I loaded into my first game was GOAT. Dude was constantly reviving my ass, the other guy dropping ammo, and we were always pushing a singular objective together at the same time. It felt good. We still lost lmao, but we would have lost a lot earlier if we hadn't pulled off some wild shit

This doesn't alleviate my concerns at all. The map description for Manhattan Bridge literally says 'engage in close quarters gunplay' which makes me think its going to be infantry focused despite having attack choppers.

The only maps that are guaranteed to be large are Firestorm (if its faithful to the original) and hopefully Mirak Valley. When it comes to Sobek City there's not enough info or footage out there to say one or the other.

2 large maps out of 9 in a Battlefield game (so far) is really not a good ratio.

Finally played on the medium sized map after 7 hours lol. This is why we need a fucking server browser... Liked it a lot more than the other 2. More maps of this size and bigger please

Imagine if consoles just embraced keyboard and mouse and leveraged the restricted hardware aspect to advertise the console as free of cheats for FPS and other games.

To be honest that's less on the game and more so on the players that you're playing with unfortunately. Well, and yeah, it's hard to compare teamwork in Counterstrike and Battlefield, I mean, they're entirely different scenarios with entirely different forms of teamwork. Battlefield has always had great elements of teamwork, that's why a lot of people love the class based gameplay.

Yuuuuuup, exactly. Plus with the traffic this game is getting you unfortunately aren't going to be constantly getting familiar BF vets or anything. Some are going to be new jacks that have no idea what's going on, lol. I saw people looking at engineers proning on top of tanks to repair all weird. I was like man, you haven't seen that before? We've been doing that for DECADES, lol.

So 1 more small map and 4 medium/large in the full game. Sounds good

I guess I'm the only one loving what they did to the smaller maps. I think the developers have achieved their goals of having the smaller maps play like COD after reading all the complaints here. The larger "Land and Air vehicles" maps will make you all happy again. I'm looking forward to trying out the larger maps when they are available. Loving what I'm seeing so far. But I'm still taking the cautious approach after being burned for the last 7 years, and will not be pre-ordering.

the tension in a high skilled game of CS where both teams are 20k+ rank and it's down to the last round is still thrilling for me. It's been that way for near 20 years. Such a great game, and so tight mechanically that it's hard to beat. The learning curve is wider than your momma.

does anyone has a controller settings to match whats like in call of duty ? i am finding the movement is a bit stiff when looking around ( not aiming down as I fixed that ) I also adjusted the deadzone. but it still feels a bit off

This is some fed up shit.. cheaters just ruin the game if it's true. I've had some questionable moments myself.

Anyways, has anyone mentioned if anything carries over? I doubt it but still curious.

Most people just have one account, displaying EA names and other consoles names shouldn't be on there to display they need to chill out with that
