Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

Right, getting cod killed is just not fun, there's no need for ammo or medics or repairs

I also hope they can add some player weight/momentum to give that added possibilities

That said, i only played 30mins of cairo before logging off for work

Doesn't BF games get sales 3 months later? Probably will buy a copy during the Christmas sales 🤪
COD and BF both get sales after sometime. it depends on how popular the game for it to have a sale.

This year however, I am not excited at all about COD, mainly because I didn't like Black Ops 6 much if at all. And 7 sounds like a DLC to the game same way MW3 was to MW2 released the year before. I have already quite COD half a year in because I just couldn't get my self to play it anymore.

Next year will be IW game, I believe. so that game ill keep my eye on. But this year It's BF for me. I actually enjoyed what I played.

At least I didn't get frustrated. which is something that happens often with COD. I found myself 90% of the time on the top 3 players.

the hit reg is very wonky, basic you die constantly in 1 frame, but enemies are basically sponges, i can hit 7-8 times at sub 30m and they can instantly 1 bang me. this is how it is 80% of the time for me

This has been my experience as well. I could take a peek at an enemy and I am instantly dead from a barrage of bullets, but when I shoot at an enemy I can empty my clip and he just doesn't die despite constant hit sounds.

I played a bit of Battlefield 4 as well just to compare, and it wasn't like that at all there.

I did no code yet :messenger_crying:
Maybe try their official discord, I'm sure they'll have community engagement people there that might be able to help? Strange there aren't any reps here handing out codes. Hope you get one.

Would be nice of EA to spend less on influencer cokeheads and more on grassroots engagement, but I guess that's not really that cool anymore.

Enjoyed this last night. For a network test/beta whatever its excellent but definitely has some issues. General thoughts.

The graphics & sound design are excellent. For an unfinished build its very polished.

No issues getting into matches, apart from a couple of times it got stuck MM and had to back out and re-enter.

Netcode doesn't seem that consistent but my connection isn't that great just now either so can't really comment.

Ran great on a 5080 laptop, +100fps. Think I had 1 CTD yesterday.

Movement is good.

Drag to revive should be in every game going forward.

TTK is a bit too fast, my preference would be a tad higher but its not lightening fast.

Balance is off, shotguns lol.

Some of the maps play horrid in some modes but much better in others. Domination on Liberation Peak is disgusting for example and the smaller maps don't play too well 32 v32. May they the need to drop a squad from each team on these smaller maps?

Saying that I think 3 or 4 of the launch maps are on the medium to large size? So not really concerned about the maps right now tbh.

Decent foundation, like I said had a great time with it last night with a couple of mates. Bigger, better maps and the usual balancing required and I'm in.

Edit Nade's look and feel shit to throw. I get why they have an orange dot for visibility but it just doesn't work for me.

There are videos out there showing what to change all your settings to, i used WhosImmortal and my experience definitely improved... i dont know why default settings are such ass in this game???

*Also, some sort of menu glitch happening even if i completely reboot the game and i have NO idea what game mode i am loading into haha
link it, my n-word

Well, that is a bollocks stat. Everybody is on twitch because if you watch a streamer for 30min they will give you early access to the beta. I have never seen that before. It massively inflated the engagement
What? Publishers do that all the time these days to hand out access or with other types of rewards lol.

I agree that it inflates engagement but bit odd that you have "never seen that before".

I only played one and a half round so far, I think it isn't terrible but I don't see what's so great about it. Will play more during the weekend, but so far the map I've played and others I've seen in the beta seem pretty bad to me. Most guns are like lasers without recoil, it feels more like CoD in this regard. Destruction is improved, but still nowhere near The Finals.

Veteran battlefield player here.

Maybe I'm just getting old but I was getting completely fucked, TTK is quite low. By the time I seen some enemies I was dead, seems I need a lot of practice or these are just too fast for me now.

tried it 3 times. Stuck and crash. Its not working

after ever match we just had to quit to the main menu and find another match

its annoying because at first it worked fine, so got to play all maps in rotation, now its coin flip if you get into a game that halfway through or a new game, and what map, think i had like 5 games in a row on that small town map, when i really wanted to play the large mountain map

yeah no server browser sucks. I only got to play the bigger map once in 7 hours...

There is a new mode to play: King of the hill. 16 players, fast spawn, COD HQ style, but without spawn restrictions. I love it.

weird. i had this issue once yesterday, but its not letting me play this time
Had a couple of issues yesterday. Once it said I needed ps+ to play (lol) but a reboot sorted it.

I think I also had the issue you describe, VPN related I think. but again a reboot sorted it.

I'm not sure how I feel about it so far. I'm not a fan of conquest on the maps I was playing. They felt too constricted with odd choke points which left little room to apply real strategy with snipers basically sitting everywhere in the buildings. I miss some of the bigger maps from BF3 and 4 that gave the player way more room to move around and find different ways to attack an objective. Hopefully the full release includes more big maps.

They need to find tune sniping a bit in my opinion, the glint from scopes is fucking outrageous and makes no sense, tone it down a bit so anyone zooming in can actually see the sniper to hit them. In addition the glint is annoying for snipers since anyone and everyone can see them as soon as they ADS. Take it back to basics like in the older games.

When I tried Breakthrough I was having a much better time. The attack and defend gameplay on one of the maps (some snowy 'ridge' map or whatever) was pretty fun and I can see classes playing a really important role (the spawn beacon in particular is vital).

It's a Shame that most players I came across don't revive or at least try to play the objective, they're all scared of being killed when they should be rushing the objective in numbers. It seems the beta attracted a lot of COD players which is annoying, I hope they either play the game properly on release, or just fuck off back to COD.

I'm also a bit disappointed they didn't include Rush in the beta as this is one of my favourite game types in Battlefield these days.

Performance on PC and PS5 Pro is really good, no complaints there, but there are quite a few bugs that need ironing out before release. The ones I came across I'll list below.

  • I got hit in game and the camera bugged which resulted in the camera staying still but I could see myself and move around in the distance, had to be killed for it to fix itself.
  • Scopes bugged out and there was a weird swirling texture whenever I ADS that wouldn't go away until respawn.
  • The in-game map is weird and buggy, it would just zoom in and out randomly when selecting spawn locations.
  • Options menu is really buggy in that sometimes it works, sometimes you cannot scroll through options at all or whilst trying to select options the menu gets stuck and you have to close and open the menu again.
Oh and the most annoying issue on PS5 is that I couldn't find a way to disable adaptive triggers, which feel horrible in this game to the point it's clearly a disadvantage. I had to disable it through system settings.

All in all I was hoping I'd go into the beta really excited for the full release, but I didn't. It's not to say I don't like what I played, it just didn't meet my expectations following what they showed.

Finally played on the medium sized map after 7 hours lol. This is why we need a fucking server browser... Liked it a lot more than the other 2. More maps of this size and bigger please
It has to be a bug right? Last 20 games were those shitty city maps

How are there so many people with free time to play this so much. Home working should be banned!

Rush is next weekend.

Agree on the maps.

The players not not playing the objective or reviving is par for the course. I expect it'll get a bit better as time goes on.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm not feeling it. The maps suck, the performance is bad for how ugly the game is, and the controls feel sluggish compared to BF3/BF4/BF1.

There is a solid foundation here for something that more resembles an actual battlefield game but I feel like none of these maps are actually really great for conquest. They feel like more tailored to breakthrough and rush. But these small maps are not good for 64 players. Too many choke points, not enough ways to go above, under or around. Need to give the players more options for creating paths and flanking. As it is currently it is WAY too restrictive.

Yeah this does feel more like CoD Ground War than anything else.

Cairo might legit be the worst maps they have created in recent entries.
Create a chokepoint on A, C and E and there's nothing you can do, no space to flank, nothing. Just need to spam engineers to stop tanks and supports to heal and revive and that's it, the game won't move at all.
Absolute dogshit map design.

I've been playing battlefield since 1942
I'm old and don't like fps games anymore.
But This felt like they hit a home run.
They can only fuck this up with disasterous post launch content and cheaters.
Mark my words this will dethrone cod this year.
Runs like a dream on series x and looks good too.
Also needs atleast 2 to 3 large scale battlefield maps for launch because the ones in the beta are very small
