Ben Affleck Is The New Batman

NO MAN YOU MUST MOAN ABOUT THIS

HE WAS DAREDEVIL IN THAT FILM YEARS AGO HE IS SHIT IT NOT LIKE HE WON OSCARS OR ANYTHING
He was also in the Company Men like two years ago and was still awful. And the Oscars would mean something if they were ever for acting. But they weren't. Because most people recognize that acting isn't the mans strong suit.

I'm happy to have Bat-stubble or Bat-beard.

Seriously. Just once. If you're going to persist in making these things live-action, then just once... please do the mask right.

If there were ever a chance it will be done right then it's with Snyder in charge. He isn't my favorite director but I will be damned if he can't absolutely nail translating characters from the pages of comics to the screen. Watchmen is a good example I think of what to expect in terms of suit design.

Kinda surprised by the outrage to be honest. We could have gotten waaay worse than Ben Affleck.

But still .. he is a better director than an actor to be honest.

Bale wasn't even a good Batman. I really don't understand the nerd rage this caused. This isn't 2003 anymore.

He was a good Wayne and a good Batman in BB. His Batman seemed to get worse as the trilogy progressed. I'm not thrilled with Affleck the actor (hope he directs the solo films) but the outrage is a little much.

Was shocked to hear about it, but I'm pretty interested to see what he brings to the role. My major gripe is that everything is so soon after the Nolan trilogy

They did in Dark Knight:

That was the best attempt so far -- as Batman could actually turn his head for once -- but I still didn't think it was right. The mouth hole is too small and rounded -- it should be wider, more square, and expose more of the cheeks. I'd also prefer if the sculpting of the brows weren't so overdone.

It's entirely possible I don't understand the realities of adapting the mask to a real human face, though.

So you basically want Bruce Campbell's face to make up the mask?

Not only is my twitter / facebook full of people shitting on this but even my dad randomly brought this up and also thinks this was a bad choice.

Now that i've accepted Bale being off the table, I think Clive Owen would've been my top choice had I known they were looking in that Ben Affleck direction. Cool actor that dropped out of the spotlight for awhile.

"He has it all," says WSJ's Michael Calia."The shoulder-heavy jock's physique, the chiseled facial features set to brood, the experience playing a tough but haunted leading character. It's yet another example of competent and professional, if uninspired, Batman casting. ... (It's) better than Hollywood forcing another nondescript young hunk on us."

Film School Rejects disagrees with those who call the decision ho-hum, arguing that "Affleck as Batman in 'Man of Steel 2' is actually some pretty exciting casting news. ... (A)fter more than a year of rumors and speculation that he would be directing their Justice League ensemble (movie) and/or possibly playing the Caped Crusader in it, this seems to be an equally interesting announcement."

He's going to be a great Batman, way better than Christian Bale.

I look forward to seeing Ben Affleck in the role, I get a kick out of the outrage because it makes people look like idiots.

I'm completely okay with this. Definitely curious to see how well he does as Batman, but I don't have a problem with the choice.

Rather this than a fourth Bale movie. Haven't seen any of his latest work, so I completely refrain from judging his acting chops, but I had no problem with him being Daredevil.

Seriously, I don't get the uproar at all. I think Affleck is a fantastic choice as Bruce Wayne. Bale was much too brooding/emo to play the multi-billionaire lady's man.

Good things are gonna come! :)

I can understand people getting all huffy somewhat, we have had one actor as Batman for 3 films spanning 8 years, some people aren't very good with change so get angry and outraged and the whole thing.

I don't mind much, I will give anyone a chance to surprised me, I am a Doctor Who fan so having to deal with changing actors every so many years is an essential part of the show and something you get used to.

This all reminds me of when Daniel Craig was announced as Bond.

That was pretty ridiculous too, such rage, Casino Royale imo is easily one of the best James Bond films we have had.

We're gonna go through this bullshit outrage for every Star Wars casting too. That'll be fun...

Oh god, that's going to be awful isn't it, we're going to get an influx of actors for different roles that everyone is going to hate, unless it is seemingly Idris Elba as he is apparently suited for everything and the kitchen sink, and people are going to rage all over the Internet about it for weeks.

Daniel Craig was an awful choice for Bond. Casino Royale was awesome despite his shit.

The other two just showed he was as bad as Brosnan at his worst...no surprise their best films were by the same dude.

Affleck? I like the dude. I'm looking forward to it!

Mind explaining why you thought Daniel Craig was SUCH a bad Bond? Otherwise I could just say "Brera is an awful poster."
