If it actually looks like that, I give up. Someone at Sony needs to be fired for approving that shit ass design. While the console is obviously better than the competition it's so hilariously ugly and huuuuge (trump.gif) that whoever designed and approved the design needs to be let go. Jesus christ.

Looks fine to me. I wouldn't give the design an award, but I can't think of a console I ever really loved visually.

When Nvidia shell out a minor GPU upgrade or Titan variant costing north of $1500, nobody bats an eye, But somehow console manufacturers has to give us the latest technologies (or close to it) within the cursed $500 or we riot. I think Sony/MS are unfairly squeezed here.
Don’t know where you’ve been but people are constantly complaining about NVIDIA’s prices.

Man im in day one and like the design it's grown on me over the years now! But a December 6th release date WOW why so late!? So many people will be trying to get this for holidays and get screwed. No time to find one before holidays and I'm 100% eBay will have them at $1200.00. This holiday it seems Sony is for the PAYERS.

You are simplifying the related costs alot here. Its not simply "larger SoC" or "slightly faster memory"
There is huge R&D that have been poured into designing the internal HW plus testing the cooling and the functionality.

Im not saying PS5Pro should be $1000+ , Im saying we should apply the same standard to everyone (PC, Ninty...etc)
Wait till they see the 399.99-450.00 Switch 2 with 5 year old tech and 128gb storage.

didnt ps5 debut with digital version 399 and disc version 499
Back then it was to push the all digital future so you opt for the digital version.

But now? I am yeah sony will fuck you with pricing but when its already 600 for discless no one will pay 700 for the disc version.

I call this fake. Release date for sure is fake. Only november makes sense to me with a black friday push.

Me neither, but compare the PS5 to the XSX or the One S or even the PS4. The difference is staggering, to be honest.
I could understand the complaint in terms of size if someone struggled for space, but in terms of design the One S looks bland to me, like a random dvd player and the series X looks very awkward, like it doesn't know if it wants to be a fridge or a sound system. For the record I also found the PS4 extremely bland the the PS4 pro looked like somebody joked about ductaping two PS4 together except it wasn't a joke.

As for how it looks... well that's subjective. I personally don't like the look of the PS5, then again, I don't like the look of any curved Playstation.

As for the size... have you noticed that GPUs have also gotten a lot bigger? There is a reason for that.

Since the Slim was released, there is pretty much a $50 price difference between the base SKU and the one with the disc drive attachment bundled in. While the disc drive attachment costs $80.

They wouldn't price the PS5pro in such a way that it costs less to buy the disc-less SKU and then buy the disc attachment than to buy it with the attachment bundled in.

100% it'll look like this. They are tied now with the removable disk drive it'll have to marry up with any future PS5 revisions, could you imagine the uproar if the standalone disk drive didn't marry to a new design PS5 console.

I could definitely see 599 and 699. Wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Now, do i buy a pro or stick with my pc? I’m thinking pc as I won’t be buying plus again. Still… shiny new thing is shiny.

I have the ps5 amateur already but I’m trying to go pc only but consoles are just so easy to use…

Do you wanna make a bet? You underestimate Sony fans
Agree, as gamers have gotten older (like myself) there are plenty of us with lots of disposable income who can afford pretty much any price for anything we want. I do not think Sony will have a problem selling it at all, even if it were up around $1k. I don't think Sony's target market here is going to be kids who must rely on their parents to buy things for them. If you still live with your parents and are middle age and cannot afford the price then shame on you, you have much bigger problems coming later on in life than the cost of a game console.
