I'm not at all convinced that Nintendo doesn't give a shit. They have potential for universal appeal across the planet, including China. Things change.
10 million is huge even if it was a souls like, but is not from what I've seen.
what a bunch of reeetards![]()
They about to ban the game over there![]()
Whats with the emotional outburst?
It's not a fair assessment and comparison if you compare the success of this game to games like Hogwarts or Elden Ring. Context matters. If Elden Ring's millions of sales number came from one specific region like Japan, then it wouldn't have been impressive like other games that sold millions all over different parts of the world. The same reason why I rarely don't give a rats ass about CoD's sales chart because it's only skewed towards one specific region every year. If somehow CoD blew past millions of copies sold in Asia, miraculously, then I would consider it as a success.
All due respect, no.
140 devs (not including support teams) and 5 years is absolutely AAAAA or whatever. The only difference would be the rate of payment to the devs, which would be cheaper just by exchange rate and local wage levels.
efore.
I really don't think the Chinese game market deserves our sudden respect because of one example.
Chinese workers have cheaper salaries compare to the other countries. What I mean with Wukong is that a bunch of newbies make an AAA that is several times less costly than the likes of GOW or Spiderman, while being of a similar scope. Western studios are pushing the narrative that they need 400 people to make a great AAA game, which Game Science proves wrong. Most gaming studios are overstaffed.
It's not an emotional outburst, just a genuine point. Are we going to put a big asterisk next to BMW from now on because the developers are from China and a lot of the customers are from China even though it's still clearly a big success internationally and still growing in awareness? It's literally their first game. Have we done that with Japanese developed games? Should we start doing that with all games that aren't developed in the US?Whats with the emotional outburst?

Equivalent to $39.99, the price point helped a lot for the sale. How much does this game sell for in China, after converting to USD?
At least half of PS5's in China...Congrats! 7 Million on PS5?

There's no fat mentally ill they/thems in the game. Can someone tell me why the devs are horrible according to the purple place? Is it because they are Chinese?
But also consider the game only cost ~ $60 million to make with a 140+ team, still impressive as fuck.OK that really does put things into perspective for its successful numbers. It's like half the cost of a typical AAA game, so selling 10M is more like selling 6M.
Still nothing to scoff at of course.
lol getting banned at era would directly correlate with a game's success at this point. publishers should put it in accolades trailers![]()

Pieces of shit. Brainwashed internet basement dwellers that have never washed a dish by hand and are trying to dictate what's right and wrong.Resetera comments are top notch as always

I don't think GTA6 beats these numbers.
There we agree. To be fair though, I don't even think game publishers or hardline gamers actually argue that we need 500 person permanent teams of one game. That sounds more like the devs who whine on social media about layoffs. What I mean with Wukong is that a bunch of newbies make an AAA that is several times less costly than the likes of GOW or Spiderman, while being of a similar scope. not before we get HDR and a Sharpening filterCan we please have difficulty settings now?

Thought that was kinda debunked. But content creators are the fucking worst and will say anything for a buck and anyone listening to anything they say thinking it is a legitimate reflection of their thoughts is an idiot. I mean even the term is bullshit - content creators - when the 'content' part is almost universally made by other people and they are just showing or recycling it and making dumb jokes.Guys what do you think about the fact that Black Myth: Wukong Marketing Team Offers Content Creators a Steam Key but they have some sort of Do's and Don'ts that are kind of idk, weird
Damn, I didn't think about that part. I just saw this stuff in a YouTube video from a YouTuber, and he looked a little annoyed. But I think you're right. The part about not being able to mention COVID-19 and quarantine is the part that gets me. The others I understandThought that was kinda debunked. Whoo went on a bit of a rant there.
I heard they're planning a black myth trilogy, this one is action, next one will be a strategy game and the third one I don't remember what people said. The next game from these guys is gonna be nuts. Putting this out as your debut is such a wild accomplishment. I wonder what they do.
A sound one. What the hell is this logic?![]()
False equivalence. BMW is already an established brand, unlike Black Myth. Even if you use chinese car brand like Chery as your argument, it still don't hold water because their car is one of the best selling cars in their domestic market, but has almost 0.1% market share on rest of the world, even though they actively export their cars. It's not an emotional outburst, just a genuine point. Are we going to put a big asterisk next to BMW from now on because the developers are from China and a lot of the customers are from China even though it's still clearly a big success internationally and still growing in awareness? Regardless of where it was developed and where a majority of the sales are coming from, I'm having a ton of with the game just like I am any Fromsoft game or any other Soulslike. Do I wish Stellar Blade or Lies of P had similar success? Sure. But you're talking about one of the most well known Mythologies ever here with Wukong, not just in China and the developers did it justice. It's not perfect by any means, but it's a great game. If the game was utter garbage and selling this way, I could see the argument for nationalism and whatnot, but that doesn't hold water here.

Amen.I wish we could discuss the game success without having to bring up the purple kingdom. We are a better community than they could ever aspire to be.
Same here.Wow.....this brings back memories. I got banned there during the Cyberpunk variation of this.
I dont go over there myself but i did enjoy that thread. Some of the takes were literally insane.Amen.
Same here.
To me they just don't exist.
It's so much better than hating them![]()
