Well even the steam deck is managing steady 30 fps on low. Either this game is well optimized or the benchmark isn't representative of ingame performance.

Wtf this thing is horribly optimised.
Has to run at half rendering res to get high fps.

Will wait for a deep sale or when they optimise it some more.

Can only imagine what it will look like on PS5.
lol come on. We are finally getting a next gen game that looks like a next gen game and taxes the GPUs like a next gen game.

If you are maxing out settings then of course its going to run poorly. RT is the only thing thats unoptimized and you can turn that off and still get Epic's own software Lumen for realtime dynamic GI, and great FPS.

With RT off and everything else maxed out, i was getting an average of 55 fps at 4k dlss performance (1080p) on a 3080. You NEVER play at max settings on PC. no one does. Im sure once i set them to high, i will easily get over 60 fps. PS5 will likely use a mix of high and medium and should look fine in the 30 fps mode. 60 fps might drop to 720p internal but thats just like every other next gen only game, and they dont look nearly as good as this.

4090, 32GB and 7800x3D. Have everything maxed with DLSS , 4K, Super Resolution at 75, Ray tracing at Very High. Average is 70. Maximum at 85 and Minimum at 60. Looks like my 4090 will brute force another one. Only test I've done so far.

4090ti??? How 😂😂😂

Have you tried Medium? From my understanding, Cinematic is a tier even higher than Very High. PS5 could get by with Medium and FSR Performance Mode at 1440p and DRS. Won't be great but should be alright.

Medium settings, no RT, no FG, 4K DLSS performance (50% resolution scale).

DLSS ultra performance (25% resolution scale)

And here's what the image quality looks like with the 4K DLSS performance at the medium settings. The PS5 version will look amazing ;).

btw. guys, DLSS quality at 4K is 66% or 75% resolution scale?

Exact same specs as me, ill try your settings.

Nah man our PC cost insane amounts of cash I would expect to be blowing the doors off most games for the next 5 years or so. To think that a 2k GPU isnt running this at 60fps native is ridiculous frankly.

I know they dont optimise for the top end but come on that is a bit silly.
I will have a go without the added RT to see what it visually looks like but I bit the bullet to get top end features.

Oof, trying to run this benchmark had my 3090 wheezing for air.
Native 4K with all max settings = 7 fps
4K with DLSS @ 50% scale and max settings = 26 fps
I'm assuming the ray tracing is super demanding and unfortunately Ampere doesn't have frame generation
I need that rtx 5090... Ampere is showing it's age

5800X, 4070 Super, 16GB of RAM, did a few tests with all the graphical stuff set to Ultra.

4K, DLSS + framegen, no RTX: 80fps.
2K, DLSS + framegen, RTX Ultra: 70fps.
2K, DLSS + framegen, no RTX: 90fps.

Kinda weird that there's barely 10fps of difference from 4K to 2K, and that RTX on ultra only takes another 10 frames. I could swear the difference was much more noticeable in a game like Cyberpunk.

I also wonder why they don't show any fights here. Hopefully the game's able to keep up those framerates when all the particles and combat effects are on screen.

Game's a looker but man, it also seems to demand a lot from the hardware. Wonder if it might be worth to wait a bit more in case they keep optimizing it after release.

yeah, i was getting 22 fps average on 4k dlss performance and only 27 fps when i downgraded to 1440p dlss performance. i wouldve expected something better than a 25% uplift when reducing my gpu load by 100%.

Oh frame gen works on FSR. I got 107 fps on high with fsr quality and frame gen but who knows how bad the input lag is

Enough of this maximised horseshit. Let's see what potato mode gives me:

I could probably get faster if I could be fucking bothered to mess around with the default card settings :messenger_tears_of_joy:

time to throw this rtx 3090 in the trash

Set Super Resolution to 50%. Also note that Cinematic is most likely for future GPU's/CPU's, not current gen. New GPU's/CPU's are out this Fall per usual yearly release. Set your graphic settings to Recommended but keep your resolution the same OR set to 2560 x 1440p. It should be playable 40-50fps I'm guessing.

If I set Super Resolution to 50% and turn on DLSS then my average frame rate goes from 7 to 26.
I didn't plan to buy the game anyway but was just curious how it ran and looked maxed out.
This does make me want to upgrade though lol.

There is a side by side of RT on/off in this video, this is gonna be a tough sell and i'm an RT slut.

I remain convinced that RT is mostly a scam designed to sell graphics cards. It's largely fucking pointless in a majority of games, with even the ones that do effectively use it not really being that much different to justify its existence.

Well this was a nice surprise.
I wasnt even going to bother with the benchmark on my 1080ti after seeing the results here but i thought what the hell.

I can get 60fps at 1080p, Medium, with textures set to very high. Res set to 75%.

If ilock to 30fs i can play on High, textutres very high, and res 100%.

If i lock my tv to 50hz, i can get 50fps on High, textures very high, and global illumination set to medium.

Quite a surprise after the results here. Ray Tracing must be a killer in this game!.

Also for people on lower PC's, Global Illumination is the big killer here. Keep it on medium, or low, and you may be surprised by the results.

I think the resolution scale in this game isnt working correctly, because when you start changing it, you can get totally different results even with the same settings.
