With initial estimates showing that approx 15% of sales where on PS5 vs 85% on PC,
Yes it a big split, probably the biggest we've seen especially for a game that is currently only available on those two platforms
The problem? That's extremely low sales on Playstation, it's not high on PC despite being high on Playstation.
It's high on PC and really low on Playstation
So what is going on here other than Playstation owners thinking the game is shit or something.
Based on other game sales....that is the only logical conclusion... unless
and the fact that 75% of games are bought digitally on PS5, I am not expecting a huge bump in sales.
The 75% number is revenue from PSN, not Units Vs Units
And this includes stuff that's not available physically.
But this is a game by game basis, some games sell more digitally and some physically
So for some publishers like Capcom you see record high numbers for Digital with 90% being digital.
But Sony still sees 65% of their title selling physically.
And even Kojima Pro saw Death Stranding including the DC version only selling 11% Digitally.
What I'm saying is it's not always a clear cut, Black Myth Wukong may stay at its 15% because Playstation gamers aren't as interested for whatever reason.
Or it could get a massive sales boost.
We don't actually know, hence my curiosity.
