There is obviously a difference. When Sony is putting many of its games on Xbox, then this is a different story. Otherwise, it's much like it was at the end of the PS4 gen, with the PS5 still seeing exclusives. The core of their business is still the console, and as long as that's the case, they will never be where Microsoft currently is. This doesn't mean that one day it won't happen, but I'd bet the next two PlayStation consoles will have games that continue to retain some form of exclusive status for a duration.

For Xbox, unless something drastically turns in their favor, I expect one more generation of hardware and that's it.

Of course they will and should. It would be sacrilege if MS tried to not enhance pro games. It's not fair on their customers who have purchased expensive hardware and want to purchase MS games.

Offering multiplatform games and being a full on 3rd Party pub (like SEGA) is still a very different situation. Microsoft offers all of their games on another platform from the day they launch as well. That's a massive difference and their console sales partially reflect that.

"Wait and see" is all you have with Sony, but like I said, until they are in a space where they want to give up that duration, they are not in a 1:1 situation with Microsoft.

I get the joke but all that is just platform war noise really. Wouldn’t be any talk about anyone going third party if there was no games.

But at this point I think people are mostly annoyed at the delays, Xbox to PS and PS to PC and if the next Xbox have Steam, delays from PS to Steam. Play late but nobody knows how late.
