Bloodborne gameplay : The first 18 minutes

just watched 1gb video, yes there is AA problems, but from im not see any downgrades, there is some different textures in various areas and also there is some geometric changes
 
It is casting shadows, just in a different location since the light in the scene has changed.

Also, did InFamous SS get downgraded? I dont remember that.

The shadow is on the left side. Infamous: Second Son had no downgrade at all from what i can remember, only improvements. And do you seriously think that the disappearance of a shadow in a Japanese video game make any difference in a investor meeting.

Not to mention the character casts no shadow in the final build. From, you lost another customer. This is embarrassing.
First Sucker Punch, now this. What is Sony doing? Should Yoshida be worried come next investor meeting?

Mural over the door in the right seems less detailed/complex/revamped. Perhaps also the case for the angle stone of the ballustrade.

But hey, tuning.

Looks awesome.
 
I think it all looks awesome. The only thing that is just as shit as in demon souls is the boss camera angle.

Why can't it just zoom out a bit more and give you a top down view? Just press the R3 button twice, and voila, you have a more zoomed out camera angle that gives you a better view of why you die, instead of not seeing your character and just seeing a big enemy covering the screen.
 
Graphics wise this generation really doesnt offer as a substantial leap as previous generations did.

The average next gen gamer's IQ though fells like took a huge leap..........and plummeted way down. Down to the single digits. That infamous gif is adorable!

Anyway im interested to see how many armor sets this game has since armor seems just mainly cloth in bloodborne. Cant wait to go trough all the apparel.

i guess i'll have to see it in person

the gameplay seems seems a little more smoother
 
So I'm someone that didn't manage to get into the Souls games (I barely tried tbh), but loved watching other people play (GiantBomb in particular).

This footage for Bloodborne was very, very tasty, those 18 mins felt like 5-10. Even though I didn't have any patience to get into it before, I think this time around the timing might be just right for me to give it a good go.

I love the aesthetic, I'm not even overly fond of gothic imagery or medieval London (despite being a Londoner) or anything like that, but I don't know what it is. I like the vibe and mood of playing a game set in a London Dungeon/Plague/Great Fire/Dickensian-like atmosphere.

Next gen looks like it will have finally arrived.

Don't lock on. Though in the video he does have luck on options.
 
Any info about localization? Spanish IGN said that contacted From and the game will have voices and text in spanish... and I think that maybe they're smoking something...


Yeah, spanish localization is confirmed by IGN. I believe cause all Sony games have spanish localization.

In this game how will the level system work? I mean, theres something equivalent to souls to level up?

Yep, and works just like souls, except that when you die, you don't just find your bloodstain, you have to kill the monster that killed you to retrieve your souls.

I assume there will still be bloodstains (or the Bloodborne equivalent) for falling deaths, though.
 
Besides the lack of AA it looks absolutely stunning. The art direction is truly some of the best I've seen in years and - even more important - the game looks fun as hell.

A bit of dismemberment wouldn't go amiss.
There are huge gory explosions but nothing flies apart.

Guess it wouldn't be worth chancing the framerate.

In fact the framerate already seems kinda dodgy. Hope its just the video.

One thing that would be pretty cool is if after a riposte/backstab that kills the enemy, your character would hold their hearts in his/her hand. :C

After reading impressions, I figured maybe some people were just overblowing the graphics issues and it was just down to a bad quality video, so I watched it(skimmed through the video) and yea, the IQ really is absolutely dreadful. So much shimmering.

I still think the game would have been far better off at 60fps, too. Too fast-paced for 30fps.
 
for those who played souls series on consoles, how does it compare visually?

all my memories are skewed because of downsampling

What's embarrasing is your overreaction and poor eye for detail. It's a different time of day, so he his shadow is cast to his left. Seriously ?
