Borderlands 4 |OT| It's about time. Literally.

A ten from XboxEra, he calls it a masterpiece. Reviewed on PC though, really hope it performs and looks great on XSX too because then I can definitely see myself buying it this weekend to play in co-op with bro.

That being said, XboxEra throws around with high numbers a bit too often for my liking, but even then.

Technical issues and thousands of bugs according to 5 reviews.

And that's just PC alone?

XboxEra dude says it was nearly flawless for him on PC.
most this reviewers are running the game on the best PC possible, look at the moxsy video he is getting 160fps with DLSS+FG4 ( he still have problem with stutters ), without he is on 60-70fps, game ll probably run like hot garbage in 80% of PCs out there.

I'm confident that my 7800x3D and 4090 blunt force trauma combo will see me through.

Some reviews so far (screenshot taken from Push Square: https://www.pushsquare.com/features...-4-reviews-all-on-pc-no-ps5-verdicts-anywhere

I can forget about it running on my 4060 laptop 😵 damnit

We had a few folks say that it was fine on base PS5, but that doesn't rule out the framerate not dipping way below 60. Honestly, I'd be fine with a stable 40fps for base consoles too.

Not buying day 1. I need to know if they kept the wokeness in the story with Ava and all the other nonsense that tried to appeal to GenZ. If I see any evidence of that, its an automatic pass. We'll see.

Saw some gameplay, enemies still don't react or barely react to being hit other than the final blow, how the fuck do you get to the 4th entries in your looter shooter and the random AA robocop game still has more punchy gunplay, better gore and better blood effects than you??

There was a scene where the old dude use his gigantic axe to do a stomp on the terrain and all the enemies around didn't reacted at all...

Maybe i was unlucky and only saw shit weapons but robocop gunplay feel great with any weapon...

Do some of you folks have some 4k gameplay with more punchy gunplay to show?

Man first thing that should have been shouted from the roof tops in the reviews is that there is no FOV slider on console.

How were you going to charge $80 with no FOV slider.

What's the default at? 90 I hope.

I can't do 75 and lower. I get motion sickness.

I don't know how reliable this channel is but here's a couple of Xbox performance videos - the first one is Series S and the second is Series X. Series S only has a 30fps mode whereas Series X has a performance and quality mode.

Series S holds to 30fps well as does Series X in its quality mode. Series X runs at a good 60fps but there's are some minor drops occasionally. This area doesn't look too performance intensive though so it might not be representative of the game's performances in other areas.

What I don't get is when your previous games have something like that, why the fuck leave it out in the new one? Same with HDR. If your previous games have great HDR, dont fuck it up for the new one.

I guess there's a small chance the day one patch adds it.

One Redditor said it feels the same as 1 and 2 at default, I never had problems with that. Never adjusted it myself.

Christ - Steam servers getting hammered - I'm on gigabit fibre

Hopefully it improves when it gets in the hot cache of the local CDN server.

edit - changed my steam download location to Paris ( The French obviously don't like Borderlands )

I think its prudent to wait to see how this runs before parting with any cash personally. I'd rather regret not having these forgettable skins than owning a turd.

You can always get the pre order bonuses off a key site after launch for a nominal cost should you wish.

I guess if you are on console then performance is less of a worry but still. They are hiding something here with glowing paid for previews and no reviews. Wait for Gaf impressions or at least Karak Karak or Skillup would be my recommendation.
I am playing now. I had a nice contact there who worked to get me codes in the past. Since he left they legit almost never even answer the normal request. Maybe 1 out of 5 times. Just the way it goes with this thing.
Glad to see its scoring fairly well aside from the perf which I need to see for myself.

Yea, lack of hit reaction is disappointing, visuals and animations are clearly outdated for a 2025 triple A.

Noticed a few hitches here and there - recorded the first 5 mins again after the patch dropped.

Need to dial in the mouse sensitivity as it just doesn't feel good at the moment - All over the place.

Dropped shadows and Lumen to High and set to DLSS Quality
Frame Gen Off

Does feel much better and controllable with FG on

Literally feels like I'm moving in quicksand.

I need that sweet 110+ FOV to remove that feeling.

Ok so first impressions after 30 min on PC. So far it looks and runs much better than i thought it would. Running maxed out settings on 5070ti with DLSS4 quality and 2x framegen and im above 100 fps even outside, indoors are even better. Movement and shooting feels really smooth and good, UI and menus are great aswell.

Oh and so far i had 0 stutters. Lets see how it goes later, but expected a lot worse
