Agreed. Not enough time for that to pan out (with everything else that has to happen) and there's no way they're getting back in after such a clean exit.

more of the latter than the former. There's still a lot of time for something and i have no idea how they're gonna manage that. Series could seriously end in just 2 more episodes, but they have fucking 16!

hope they nail it :/ there's too much space that could suffer from filler.

The final season is
Walt desperately trying to outmaneuver the authorities, ultimately betraying everyone around him to do so.

no more meth, calling it

Walt had a chance to stop cooking meth, once in season 2, and there was a brief period in season 3 where he stopped cooking as well, but in the end.

I think Walt's just going to go back to doing the one thing in life he's good at and can feel like a big man doing it.

If not for the money, then for his pride. If the meth angle is done though, that would be surprising.

Edit: Actually you may have a point SalsaShark. I guess it would be hard for Walt and Jesse to get back into the meth game, but I'm sure that wouldn't stop them (Walt) from trying.

I still can't get over how dumb the Gus scene was, what were they thinking? lol What was the point? We already knew Gus was badass/professional that just threw it waaaaay over the top for no reason.

It's perfectly realistic actually. I saw a video of a guy in Iraq who gets blown up by an IED. he's right next to the IED without any cover just standing and after the smoke clears he walks out like nuddin happens and then falls down dead a few seconds later.

So I am currently powering through on Netflix. I had to give up a while ago for work, but I'm back on board. Got to the 10th episode of the second season where Walt forces Walt Jr. to make him drink Tequila (the amalgamation of Walt's two personalities coming to a more public fruition).

Just wanted to say, holy shitballs, this show is amazing.

I'm glad I didn't click on this thread since the penultimate episode. I was not spoiled that Gus would die this episode, although highly suspecting it. His last walk to the nursing home, final talk with Hector...so much tension, I even forgot about Dark Souls for an hour. And for a second, I thought he somehow survived when he walked out of the room, straightening his tie. Not realistic sure, but that was a badass shot, and Breaking Bad definitely earned an unrealistic movie poster shot like that.

I still can't see Walt as a monster just yet. Mostly because of all of this happened because of the dumb shit Jesse did. Most of his truly evil actions were in self defense and in some cases the greater good.

I have a good feeling Season 5 is where the Scarface in Walt comes out since he has no one left to defend himself from. All the problems that happen will be his fault.

I'm with you on this.

He put a kid in the hospital. Okay. I'm sure he used a dose he knew to be non-lethal. It sucks, but it allowed him to save a lot of lives in the long run.

My prediction for S5:
Walt becomes a meth-head and Jesse tries helping him, but he ultimately kills Jesse and after realizing what he's done, kills himself.

or

Walt JR. is super paranoid after this whole thing blows over. Joins a gang, starts doing drugs and carrying guns. One night Jesse needs walt for some reason, and breaks into the house through a window to speak to him. Walt Jr. shoots him.

About the flower thing, even tho in real life they say it can be deadly, in the show Jesse explain it only to make people sick- so I'd assume the writers make it like Walt fully knew it wouldn't kill him and his intent was only to get him sick for a while so he could scheme his genius plan. He sure won the game!

Poisoning a kid is still bad however. Very bad mr White!!

Other than that, great finale. I loved it, even after having myself spoiled. Gus walking out of there was a perfect sendoff for his character. It was crazy as hell, I don't even care if it's humanly possible (although I have no doubt the writers confirmed it with some doctors beforehand), but they that's what makes Gus awesome. His fucking will alone is so strong that it made him do that.

Here's to you GustavO!

That's not what Jesse said. Jesse said it's a common plant and that kids sometimes poison themselves on it. And that "that was all." As in, there was no sinister intent.

That's my bad then

Walt is fucked up

edit, the kid could have been fed the berries. Are those deadly as well? As with everything poisonous it depends on the amount. Walt could have accounted for that, we'll have to see next season

this show...

continues to be some of the most entertaining tv i've ever seen. can't wait to see what they do in the last season.

Yep. A screen cap of post-explosion Gus.

jheeeeeeeeeeeeze, can't believe so many people spoiled it.

With the spoiler pic, it's kind of funny how everyone was like NO WAY THAT'S REAL. When I get sort of semi-spoiled on it, I thought it'd be like all the skin had been ripped off his face completely and he was lying on the floor or something. So glad I didn't look just to check.

No way. If anything the show will end with Walt killing Jesse. Walt is not going to be a likable character by the end of it all, the entire show is about him transforming into a ruthless asshole.

That would be incredibly depressing. That would be like Darth Vader killing Luke at the end of star wars. I can't see them leaving such a bad taste in the audiences mouth.

The final shot of this season was the reveal that the protagonist poisoned a child and manipulated his only friend. This show isn't about hope and sunshine and leaving good tastes in people's mouths.

Were they trying to say something about Gus
that he's two-faced? Like ... Two Face? He was good and bad. Friend to Jesse and foe to Walt?

I kind of doubt it, since thats the main premise of the show

But I odn't know how they'll bring it back at this point

Basically the New Mexico territory is up for grabs now that Gus is gone, right? There's no major meth supplier now. I'm betting on Walt trying to seize the opportunity of becoming THE guy next season - especially with his mindset of "I'm the one who knocks".

Gah dam! That is how you end a fucking show!

I knew it! Gus was going to die in a horrific manner, and thank goodness that prick of Tyrus met his end there too. Since I started watching the show, it was always my expectation that Walt was going to ascend to the throne so to speak. His transformation happened when he shot that dude in the curve, and I waited for three seasons just for the moment when he says "I won" You can tell he's now the boss, no remorse, no symphaty which is exactly how cartel thugs operate. Even Gus underwent that transformation.

Can't wait for the final season, but I still don't know what to make of the rumored clash between Walt and Jesse. If the writers want to go for the maximum lulz then Walter will die at the hands of Jesse.

My speculation is next season will revolve around Walt looking for redemption instead of going down like Scarface. He'll obviously have his family, Hank and eventually Jesse on his ass and most likely will get gutted anyway in the end but it could definitely bring some good surprises.

As long as they don't bring a new drug related enemy, kingpin/whatever. That'd be too formulaic

uh they've got a carwash now which is apparently very profitable. So money shouldn't be a big issue for Walt. that reason is out the window.

IIRC the last time it was mentioned the carwash was "almost turning a profit." I'm paraphrasing of course, but to call it "very profitable" isn't exactly accurate.

B.K. said:
When was it ever said that the carwash was profitable?

Some episode here or there this season when Skyler was counting the receipts and called Walt.

edit: my bad, but still Walt's not gonna be that short of money. When all is said and done he'll only return to Meth because he loves making it.

Walt kills Jesse, Skylar goes to the DEA and helps Hank bust him.

Few episodes back, Skylar mentioned they were pulling a (small) profit.

Profitable cause Skyler was making up transactions. Remember that one scene?

it was pre-fake receipts. She was talking actual customers I think.

the new methcave, with Mike as their butler. They might as well since they even threw Two Face and the Joker laugh in here.

Even if the car wash is moderately profitable, it's not gonna cover the medical bills for when Walt's cancer comes back :)

I don't mind if the character goes with cancer, but it better be AFTER his reputation is tarnished. If he passes away without anybody knowing he was a meth manufacturer...smh.

Oh, i really hope this show ends with Walt killing Jesse, and Skyler, Walter Jr and Hank dying in some way.
I want Walt to stay alive, alone and with no humanity left, an Happy ending would be crap.

rewatched gus getting his face blown away, at first I initially thought it was goofy, but watching it over and over again - it actually got better.

BUT WALT WOULDN'T DO THAT HE IS A GOOD GUY

YOU CRAZY CONSPIRACY TRUTHERS

HOW MY ASS TASTE?
lol

It wasn't out of character for Walt to do, but it made no sense logistically or rationally. And it was a really cheap move by the writers (how often does Walt do something significant off screen?). But it still makes more sense than Gus poisoning Brock.

Walt, you didn't win, you piece of shit. Just wait until next season.

e: if it turns out Saul/Huell pickpocketed Jesse, that's just fucking retarded. I jokingly suggested that last week. If that turns out to be true... ugh.

e2: lol when Walt asks his neighbor to check on his house. as if it wasn't obvious enough that walt was being a huge asshole by endangering innocent people, the writers make her an elderly lady ... with a cane. we get it.

What makes you think he's gonna cook again? serious question, btw.
I hadn't even considered the idea before.
