Attack on Titan is really good. I watch a little anime now and then, but I haven't enjoyed a series like this since the original Fullmetal Alchemist. I'm even reading the manga now, which after a lifetime of western comics is very strange to read. Can't get used to this right-to-left lark at all.

The pacing has gotten really bad for me. I don't know if it's an anime thing but they spend too much time making japanese 'uh!?' noises then having 5 minute inner monologues about obvious shit when they should be advancing the plot.

Also of note: Noein (fucking unreal fight scenes), Eureka 7 and pretty much anything by Gainax involving big robots (EVA, Gurren Lagann, Gunbuster 1 and 2)

Come it was obvious, the character in The Getaway had suit lined with nano machines obviously.it was easy to tell when the blood soaked into suit

Padding the shit out of show is nothing new to anime. With how expensive it is to produce you think they try not to pad the shit out of eveything. Titans padding is painful to watch due to how flimsy the plot is in general it can't go on for long.

Was on my usual daily commute to work, and this girl got on the bus. She looked about my age, with shoulder-length reddish hair. She had a petite frame akin to that of Hayley Williams and had the cutest smile ever. Damn it.

I had another one of my moments last night. Overdosed on my medication.

You know what effect it had on me? Fucking hallucinations. I was lying on my sofa, and I could hear music from upstairs. Odd, as nothing was turned on up there. Then I could hear music to my left. Then all around me. Like, twinkling music box music. Just everywhere. Completely random, yet actual melodies.

Then loud bangs. Thumps. Static. Random words.

I could see the floor moving, the clock hands shaking. My phone looked yellow, and the text was unreadable. I was truly tripping off my balls.

Lasted way too long. Fucking hell.

Waking up to only being paid £280 sick pay by work was the real nightmare though. I'm off to the council tomorrow to hand in this massive fucking wad of paper that happens to be a form to get on some kind of benefits, as I cannot afford to pay my bills with the amount I'm getting.

Refusing to go back to work until I'm moved to another store, and my doctor is backing me up. I can't run a place that has the level of crime and violence that my current store has. It fucks me up.

Got a meeting with my area manager on Monday. I've backed them into a corner, so I should get my way.

Well good luck man. The whole sick pay thing is insane, some businesses just do not respect their people at all, it's disgusting. I was off long term about 5 years back for about 8 months (physical not mental though) and it was a shock when the SSP kicked in and it was like half of my salary. Got me back to work quicksharp...

I feel for you though man, the reason I got out of retail a decade ago was because I got assaulted by some white trash, and it gave me panic attacks working in a shop frequented by other white trash. Go work in an office if you can. It's soul destroying but safe!

Heh I would if I could find an office job.

What's funny is that the manager assigned to cover my store whilst I'm off walked out last week. It got to the point where he just couldnt deal with the abuse and shoplifting any longer.

He was only there for a few weeks. I ran it for almost two years. And he's worked in stores in rough estates in London and totton before. According to him, my store is the worst hes ever been in. And because the company are tight with money, they refuse to give the store more hours. So you're on your own each day.

I'll be using that to my advantage when I have my meeting, of course. Either they move me to another store or get rid of the single cover policy. That's it.

As someone who has been through an overdose, yeah, I can only begin to sympathise with your trip. It's been a good few years since it happened but I remember my experience like it was yesterday and it's not something I want to go through ever again.

I just read up on my meds. An overdose of mirtazapine, whilst it's unlikely to cause damage, it does apparently give you the effects equivalent to a dose of LSD.

No fucking wonder I was tripping last night then. Fucking hell.

New Franz Ferdinand album is pretty neat. Tonight felt like all of the sexiest parts of the first two records was squeezed out and honed into a really slick, down-in-the-dark record; this feels like it does a similar track with the catchiness of those records, creating something that feels weirdly scrappy and pacey. I'm surprised there's a few songs on here that don't give up all their hooks by the first chorus, like "Bullet".

It's not their best (still their debut), but yeah. It's good. If you liked them before, you'll probably find this very welcome. Almost the only early 2000s breakthrough guitar group to not become rote as fuck in the last few years.

Hey Britgaf, I've been living in the countryside in Cumbria since May and I'm going to be moving out in six weeks (I need to live in a city, the countryside is not my thang), right now I'm working night shifts at a hotel here. My question is regarding to where to move to now, I've been considering Edinburgh, since it's pretty close and I suppose much cheaper than London, but big enough so finding a job shouldn't be too hard, am I correct in this or is it an expensive city as well? Any other cities that I should look into?

Morning Musha, haven't had a great week, think I'm on my man-period.

I have two options for tonight:
1. I can go to Portsmouth, no drinking, long night, but casino is involved and meeting a shit load of new people and then driving home at 2am.
2. Go out with work lot and get absolutely shit faced and not know how to get home from somewhere very local.

I have a minor gambling problem but that's fine... it's pay day :)

Am I alone in not liking hardback graphic novels? I absolutely refuse to buy them. Don't know why I just prefer paperback, same with books really.

Still, will check out sale :)
