Are you wearing dancing shoes because you're deftly side stepping the Bloodborne bus ;)

Playing Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, no less

Ha! Hadn't thought of that.

You mean the Tom Stoppard versions, right?

Of course! They didn't really click with me in that until that realisation struck me. But as a Stoppard superfan I really should have cottoned on quicker.

Really need to catch up on Fargo season 2, I watched the first episodes and loved them, but wanted to queue up a few more before I continued. The feverish response is not making that wait easy.

I thought Season 1 was a fluke... IT WASN'T.

Civ 4 on PC?

Let me have a look at Gauntlet first.

I've nearly finished BB so I'll be moving on to The Last of Us. Maybe that after I've got my fingers into it...?

Damnit man! I've sold it!

I have Diablo. The only other MP I have is plants v zombies. Oh and whatever other ps plus games.

This is a real long shot but I've got two tickets to see Amelie at the BFI South Bank at half eight tonight. If anyone can pick 'em up from Kingston in the next few hours they're yours.

The other half has norovirus and it's kind of my fault, so we're not gonna make it. Gutted.

Amélie is a great movie, I adore the soundtrack too, it's gorgeous:

Yann Tiersen - Comptine d'Un Autre Été

Also, Audrey Tautou est très jolie.
Hey everyone: Spectre or Hunger Games Part 2? I can't really decide. Both seem to have received average reviews.
I've heard Spectre is disappointing but it's surely better than a Hunger Games movie.

Spectre but only by virtue of the Hunger Games being a terrible series.

Amelie is a real joy (and the soundtrack is a delight), though I think A Very Long Engagement is better.

Hard to believe it is from the director of Alien Resurrection lol

Hmm so split. It was split across my friends too. I'll have to make a vote by chance. The only other films that are intriguing are Bridge of Spies and Black Mass (that are showing too).

We have Virgin 200mb upgrade coming in a few days, upping it from the 20mb down 2mb up we have had for like 5 years

Im sceptical because their throttling has always been bad but im hopeful its a decent chunk faster, has anyone who has the 200mb any idea what the upload is like? I cant seem to find that info on their page.

I've been planning my mates stag do for a little while and got the basic big activities down.

We're going to Budapest, doing paintballing/quadbikes/clubs/casino over 2 days. Anyone know any cool things to do in Budapest? Or other funny stag things to go generally?

obvious things I've arranged for stags in the past:

Make the stag dress up in some ridiculous way (should be mandatory)

Everybody has a "grenade card", they can tear it up at ANY point over the weekend and shout "grenade!" & everyone has to stop what they're doing and hit the deck. Last one down buys the next round. Nobody is allowed to get up until it's decided who was last down. If somebody gets up, they admit fault & take the bullet on the round

Assign a judge and set up some drinking rules for the weekend, judge session in the middle of prime drinking time (10-11pm ideally) where the judge dishes out punishments for infractions (this one is more of a rugby team thing, but it works a treat on a stag)
Some rules we used:
  • drink only with off-hand
  • no looking at yourself in the mirror outside of your hotel room
  • no pointing
  • no first names
  • nobody is allowed more than one drink at a time - if you're double parked then you have to consume the bigger drink immediately
  • spillage is lickage
  • have to keep Stag ID on you and show it when asked. Stealing each others' ID heavily recommended so you can rack up penalties.

Listening to the Amélie OST on my way to work, it's so glorious! The final 10 seconds of that movie are perhaps the most joyous ever committed to film.

I need to watch it again soon...

This sounds like battle music from a JRPG.

Ah, La Noyee c'est tres bon!

...I didn't do well at French.

We went to see it in the end. She was... concerned... about her health, but since I had no luck getting rid of the tickets she didn't want them to go to waste and braved it. It was excellent, really nice seeing it in a room full of people on a big screen. Q&A with Jean-Pierre Jeunet at the end as well which was so cool, he's a really funny guy.

Shout out to dapperbandit, still rock your mixtape Can I Borrow A Feeling.

Back then it was the FM Attack song A Million Miles Away that got me way into them, today it was getting into First Light finally because you had Daybreak on there.

I agree it'd be fun to do another.

I'm def up for doing another mixtape! I'll have some down time over crimbo to sort one out, happy fun times.

Can you One Note Motherfuckers actually make a MIXtape this time though?

Merci.

Yo LondonGAF,

Season's greetings and all that jazz. How was the Christmas meetup last weekend?

[shameless plug]
I'm showing some photos in an exhibition at the Crow's Nest Gallery in west London, near Portobello market. It's free and it's open until Sunday. Come down!

What a crazy day in a crazy world. So since the awful terror attacks in Paris my other half has been a little more nervous about travelling to London as part of her job - she works in marketing for a number of shopping centres.
She's currently in London, she went down today and is staying over night. And whilst there this happened at the shopping centre she spends most her working week at:

Police say it was planted with the intention to endanger human life. Thankfully no one was hurt, but it really makes you think.

So, I'm in the UK for work this week and I have this weekend off because some plans fell through. Are there any places I should check out in London with my 2 days off?

What are your tastes in tourism like?

One rule to remember on the Tube: stand on the right of escalators, walk on the left. You won't need to grab an Oyster card, to use on transport such as buses and the Tube, if you have a contactless card.

Anything really. Just need some ideas, lol.

Depends what you're into.

London has a fair amount of museums and art galleries around. My personal picks there would be the Imperial War Museum and the Tate Britain (not the Tate Modern, though that is easier to find). In terms of tours there's also a group called London Ducks that take you around town in a converted amphibious transport, so they drive you around the city then, just outside MI6, drive into the Thames. It's a different way to see the city for sure.

Borough Market is also worth a visit, lots of good food there.

Thanks, dapper.

I'll need to mull on it a bit. I want to go see something but nothing really piques my interest. It also doesn't help that I've traveled a lot this week and I'm an hour away by train into London. I usually don't mind the ride but I've had more than 24 hours in transit in less than a week in addition to work, oof.

Where are you staying? There might be some cool stuff nearby

That's really near me.

Did you know a Maidenhead is a hymen? Why name a town after that??? If you're going to call it anything like that, call it anus. At least it's more accurate. The place is a shithole

Oh my. Seems like a fine place though there's not too much here. I was surprised to find Chinese and Thai food here though, lol.

Nuke him in orbit?

Shouta,

You got Windsor close by ...and Legoland.

That sounds interesting but it's also 20 mins by car. I don't have one here, unfortunately.

I actually have to figure out my laundry situation tomorrow. Doesn't seem like Coin Laundry is a thing in this town so I gotta figure out to last until I leave on Wednesday, lol.
