You could say the same about how New Orleans was handled post Katrina. Large swaths of the area is still in ruin. People are still displaced and living in trailers. It was a complete disaster as a humanitarian effort during they key days after Katrina.

But in any case, my scenario needs to have the same level of catastrophe. We've never seen a catastrophe of this proportion. But if we did, would we accept military aid from a foreign country like China or Iran (no, Canada doesn't count)? I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

Its insulting for the people of Myanmar is even try to compare this to Katrina. They would BEG to be in the peoples of New Orleans situations. The difference in needing foreign aid between the US and Myanmar isnt even comparable.

Do people even understand that almost everyone in Myanmar is going to have to rebuild their OWN lives with little help to most likely no help? If they are lucky they will get food supplies just to help them survive and then they are likely on their own.

I saw a report where some European countries were thinking of invoking some article in the U.N. which would make it so they can forcefully go into Myanmar to help but i dont think thats going to go anywhere.
