So, I thought it would be a nice thing to help out some GAFers and I saw this on GameTZ. ekgrey and I have been talking about this idea but he's disappeared for the moment so I thought I might as well offer this up in the meantime.

In a nutshell, I'm offering small loans for short periods to help y'all out if I can (at a very low interest rate, just to basically pay for any minimal time/effort). The only prerequisite is that you have some feedback here or on another site but if you don't I guess just even another person who will vouch for you might suffice. And please don't borrow money for any illegal ends.

BTW, I'm not going to be lending out thousands of dollars or anything. But a hundred or something is pretty reasonable. So HMU and we'll talk. Also, I am GAF Gold and this offer is only for those in the US at the moment.

I really don't think this is a good idea.
Your intentions might be good and nothing might go wrong (but a lot could) but this is not something I'd like to see in this thread to happen often or at all honestly. I can already see the bots taking up all the first posts on new pages and offering the lowest rates. (Not really, but I hope you get what I mean)

Private lending to people you know is great, but this makes it seem like a business which strikes me the wrong way. And I honestly don't see why it would be needed.

Yeah I wanted to add that to my post as well. That's why I don't see how it's needed. If you really have no money to pay rent or something you should probably ask someone you know, If you're taking a loan to buy games you're making exceptionally bad decisions and no one should give you loans anyway.

For what it's worth, with regards to the loan stuff, not everything being sold on here is being sold in order to purchase more games (much of the stuff that I sell, unfortunately, goes to pay bills).

I have it needed a loan from a GAFfer before, and have also given a loan to a GAFfer as well... I'm very thankful to have been able to do that, on both ends of the spectrum.

That said, while I did contact Max right away as it is definitely something that I am interested in at the moment, I do think that opening this thread up to loans is potentially a huge issue. Especially given that loans on GAF have had a spotty history in general at best.

He's probably busy getting inundated with messages at the moment, however :þ
