Tell me about it dude, I'm American but I live in Germany know and the prices of consoles and PC hardware and games and such triggers the hell out of me, plus the resell market is much smaller so there is a much lower chance of finding a good deal or even people to trade with

I've used Amazon Germany before and its hard to get people to ship to the US especially if it's a low value item. Bought a 1 euro game (after contacting like 10 sellers) and that is like 1 of 2 games that have ever got lost in the mail. Ended up paying paying shipping twice because of that but I don't think there was any funny business on his end. It was great using google translate to talk to this guy. I want Deep Fear for Saturn but whenever I've found it for a price I was willing to pay no one would ship it to me. Now it's 250 Euro there. I guess I should have been more aggressive.

Whenever there is something good or something that is a bargain it's always the US. So many 3DS games I wanted and PC GPU's etc. In the UK you might get one good deal in a year if your lucky. With Brexit probably only 1 every ten years.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to that, as it could take an uncertain amount of time for them to refund me, when I would rather have the payment sent back instantly so I can continue with the transaction.

The person said that they DID have a paypal account, but it hadn't been used since 2012 and they forgot the password. Would the simplest solution be for them to recover their account, then send the payment back?

They should click the "having trouble logging in?" Option when trying to sign in to their account so they can be promted to resetting their password. This is assuming they still have access to their email associated with their PayPal account.

They tried, but they don't have the phone number used for text recovery anymore. Google says their best bet is to call customer service.

I have to wait until tomorrow morning to call them, and I urged them to try on their end too. I think things would go quicker if they recovered their account and sent the refund back, but I've inconvenienced them enough with my mistake, so I'll call to try and fix it myself either way.

Yeah then giving them a call is the best option. Hopefully this can be sorted out for you.
