Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare |OT| House of CODs

It's so easy once you figure out the strategy and get an okay group. I was just playing for fun and flipped the map once by myself without any glitch tricks. Ended up quitting cause I got bored.

I only use specialist or heavy but basically I just find a good spot that doesn't allow enemies to flood in from every direction. Don't even bother with the objectives early on cause you'll most likely get killed. Upgrade weapon proficiency to about 6 or 7 ASAP. After that I max out armour then max out weapons. Once you get to around level 4+ armour you're basically unstoppable if you're decent at shooters.

The more annoying trophy to get is the bonus wave one on riot map. No way I was going to play 225 waves of that shit.

I just got the flip flap trophy by horizon map glitch and it's take about one hour and I bored to death :(
Now the only thing I want is riot map :] if any one can help me with this I really be glad and I will return the favour somehow

Guys if anyone unlock that map Please let me join you and play. It's only take a short time.please send me a p.m if you can help me

Lag comp still like crazy after new patch, connections seem better on the board but i still have no time to react, die in 1 bullet, shoot first die first, game is horrible

does anyone on here play solely hard-core playlists?

I am hard-core all the way, so much fun, and feels a lot more real to me :)

Nah, pretty much every death I had in the 2.5 hours I played post-patch made sense. Shoot first and die pretty much disappeared, well, so long as my follow up shots weren't garbage. I started seeing local sounding gamertags, pings good across the board. I can actually boost dodge out of the way in time now when getting shot. I'll see how it is during Friday night during primetime, but I'm optimistic they got it sorted.

Finally got around to finishing the SP...

Was it just me or did the ending didn't have the same kick as the previous COD's (MW/MW2/MW3/Ghosts) ?

All the kick/adrenaline/fast-paced action happened during the game...

MW3 still holds the best ending for me so far, I was thinking that AW might beat that, it was good but not as good as MW3

For me the patch fucked everything up. I have constant lag now and everything you described is happening to me. Was so bad the last two nights that I went and played BF4.

Hoping Bal gets nerfed somehow in this next patch. When I'm using an smg at close range I shouldn't be getting killed by someone firing an Assault rifle from the hip.

Pubs are vast majority Bal users at the moment.

Thanks for describing it. Yea, this is something I've noticed as I've gone solo as well. Sometimes you'll run into players that seem to have just terrible reaction time, and sometimes you'll run into guys that are just..."ahead" as you say, just stupidly on point in their reaction times to the point of confusion.

Appreciate the clarification. I don't have an easy answer or response to it but its nice to have it put into words. For my part I just try to adapt. "This guy is untouchable right now in a 50/50 gunfight" so I play in a way where I can try to catch him off guard. I can see how thaving to deal with that level of advantage or disadvantage shouldn't be acceptable though.

I'm with you! Our team, when on the "slow-side" of the "lag compensation" (or whatever it really is) will play much more defensively then setting up 3 on our home flag and 3 on another and lock them down instead of trying to triple cap or move around too much.. Have to adapt to what's happening.

That's cute. Put a week into MP, you'll be wanting a divorce like the rest of us. Lol

Less than a week and im already considering trading it in. Its been fun for the most part, but im starting to remember why i stopped playing so much after BlackOps 1. The hyper alert mode you have to go into playing this doesn't seem worth it like it used to, COD burnout is hitting much quicker than ever before... i cant quite put my finger on why, i haven't played a COD game in awhile, but it feels like none of the unlocks are exciting like they used to be, even the weapons are kinda meh.. gimme a default kit or fully customized loadout, theres no difference once i have a fully auto weapon. idk, its just starting to bore me.. wheres the Zombie mode when you need it ?...

I agree with a lot of your points. There are far fewer viable classes than there has ever been in a COD game. Outside of the UAV it is pointless to add any scorestreaks. The rest are simply unachievable. There is no point in taking a non-ar gun, or a secondary. Launchers are bordering on useless. Exo ability is a joke. Basically the game is down to just the primary and perks. And that is because...

the exo movement does not mesh with every other element in COD multiplayer. Streaks are not possible because there is no way to protect from random deaths. You die so quickly that you never need to switch to a second weapon. Players move way too fast for launchers to be effective.

I think that exo movement has a place in gaming, but I don't think that COD is the place for it. It nullifies too many elements that make COD what it is. It turns COD into a modern quake 3. For people that love quake 3 (myself included), the game is a blast to play. For people that grew up with and love the call of duty series, the game is incredibly frustrating and out of place. The classic playlist is nice, but it's very limited in modes, and it is obvious that the maps were made to be played with exo movement. It's not terrible, but for somebody looking for a normal COD game it is looking like they will be playing Black Ops 2 for the third straight year.

They are and they aren't.

Quite obviously a significant proportion of the map design is based on having places to jump onto, but at the same time, its the huge mobility offered by the exo suits that makes this game so awful to play. People often mention how low the time-to-kill is in Call of Duty games, by which they mean the length of time from when you start to die and when you are dead. Yet, I'd also point out the time between spawning and the time where you're in a firefight is lower than ever.

My favourite Call of Duty is Modern Warfare, and one of if not the biggest reason for that is the map design. Look at almost any CoD4 map and you can probably highlight three areas, one of which you MUST go through to traverse from one side of the map to the other. That ensured that the maps were controllable, and you really had to work at it if you wanted to flank the opposition.

In Advanced Warfare, flanking is as easy as just going down an undefended route, and because there are typically more ways through the map than players on a team, it's very easy to do. This is the primary reason why you end up being shot in the back or side in AW more than any other CoD.

It's pretty dumb that the cheat detection in this game is so poor that I literally have seen the same hacker multiple times over the past week. At least a couple times a night.

Sorry but quick question.. Does the Xbox one version have system link / lan play option so that two xb1 can be connected with Ethernet cable for offline mp?

Finished the campaign yesterday, pretty damn terrible honestly, though Kevin Spacey's performance was expectedly good. The campaign needs more humor / life / memorable characters. I miss the banter of Price or Soap as your superior, and the quick and clean pacing. No one has any personality or even cracked a smile whatsoever, so when it was over it just felt kinda "that's it?"

LTTP, waited for a good price, got $30 off PS4 version, Kijiji.

Long time COD player who's very skeptical about AW, some thoughts after my first 16 multiplayer matches:

-spawning is a definite improvement over Ghost. Ghost gave me PTSD so I am frequently doubling back from where I came from because I think the enemy has spawned behind but it never happened.
In some matches our teams never switched spawns and that's brilliant because you're fighting the enemy head on, side-by-side with your team, there's an almost constant firefight happening. I can't remember the last time a COD could do this, well done. When a COD has you constantly changing spawns, that's pure garbage.

-Did not experience any poor network performance; hit detection was very good, did not feel any of my deaths were the cause of anything network related. Some teammates did have poor experiences though. Our squad consisted of players from the Eastern seaboard to the West coast.

-I think the maps are still shit but an improvement over Ghost; fewer sight lines, fewer blind side deaths but still too many. Way too few maps overall.

-The exo movement is fun in itself but I'm not finding it adds to the overall multiplayer fun yet. I'm still newb. Haven't found any exo-abilities that I find really beneficial or even interesting yet.

-I'm looking at the minimap nearly as much as the main screen, things can get very hectic. Trying to interpret it is hard sometimes, still learning. Definitely keeping the perk where it gives you a larger map.

-Foot step sounds are terrible, can't hear anything but my own. The weapon reports seem good though, gives me a good sense of where the engagement is happening.

Holding a 1.41 KD ratio for now, from all the things I've read in this thread, I expect it to plummet in a few days. Fun so far but I'm not sure it has legs.

I'm on Chapter 12 and so far the campaign has done nothing to separate from the other average COD campaigns. And so far I feel for Kevin Spacey talents being wasted on this absurd attempt of developing a story.

Also playing it on veteran (so far very doable considering no grenade spam and exo upgrades make it much easier) strangely diminishes the importance of the exo suit abilities because if you start dashing or jumping you get killed immediately. It should be the other way around since it's their selling point for the game.

Apparently going prone disables your name and reticle color when aimed at. This with how long the bodies last explains why I get killed so often by enemies laying on objectives clipping into dead bodies. Either that needs to be removed or dead bodies need to vanish much quicker.

You know what, I say remove prone altogether. I've always hated it in every FPS I've played. Bad Company 1/2 played better without it. Prone also has too many clipping issues, see the Horizon glitch.

You sure its not people using the perk?

I think I remember you from the Titanfall thread. You where nasty at that game too right? What are you running here? I don't think mine was as good as yours still but I had like a 4.0 vs players and a 12 overall in TF but I was barely holding onto a 1.3 here...

When you go prone in this game you look dead
When you reload while prone you blend in with the dead even more

This is why we need W@W levels of body dismemberment upon deaths

Hang back

Rushing has never been my thing. Hanging back just doesn't help. It just gets you shot in the back even faster.

I also don't hop around like a bunny. I stay on the ground 75% of the time.

EDIT: Looking at your stats you are just barely doing better than I am.

This game is very boring and bland. Doesn't compete with mw1, 2 and bops1 in style, fun, map design and game modes. This game has no staying power.

Right now it's 2.2, which is the lowest k/d I've ever had in a cod game. Most people seem to have a similar experience. I think it's mainly because of the dodgy netcode. It's frustrating, but I don't want to give up on it because otherwise it's a great game.

In Titanfall it is more than 6 times as high lol.

I made it to Tier 4 and started doing the survival map riot to unlock the zombie thing. We made it to round 11 and no enemies spawned and we are just walking around. Any ideas what is wrong or did the game glitch out?

Any notes for this patch?

From what I read in that official cod blog/community, the patch was just the rest of the updates from the original 11/10 patch. So possibly this 2nd patch is the one that has the fixes for network optimization and ping bars, because those two were absolutely not fixed when the first patch came.

I have yet to try AW after this latest patch though.

I got an ARX160 "Hole Puncher" and I've been dominating with it. I don't find the multiplayer as bad as you guys but I'm also not really a huge COD fan.

Connection SEEMS better but it doesn't really matter. These maps are just too damned small and overly complicated for my tastes. I'm still just trading deaths for kills every time and that is boring.

Maps are perfect size IMO.

There aren't any super small maps like NukeTown or Dome, and there aren't any huge annoying maps where you have to run around for 2 minutes just to find an enemy.

Not sure how the maps are "complicated" to you. You just need to learn them.

It seems like my time to ADS is slower with the Inferno but the movement speed while ADS is the same.

So I searched around yesterday for some kind of official breakdown of the weapon stats and how they're defined, but couldn't find anything official - just a lot of educated guesses. Didn't have a chance to check if there was a digital manual with COD:AW - is there and does it explain it? The companion app isnt much help and seems to be a little buggy at this stage (still showing info for me pre-prestige).

I've learned the maps in this game far faster than in any Call of Duty I've played before. They're not bad at all. Shit, I still have trouble with some of the Black Ops 2 maps.

The app is completely broken.

I've become so accustomed to having extremely detailed online stats available through Battlelog that's it's disappointing that there is nothing comparable for COD. I'd like to be able to see my challenge progress on my phone and stuff like that.

Agreed. Just remake MW, add in the extra maps from 2 & 3, and I'll rebuy the game and play it for probably a hundred hours. Activision could treat it like the MCC. It would sell tons and require little effort on their end.

Yep, which is why fixing the spawns or lag won't really matter. It might make it sustainable in the sense you're getting your kills finally, but so long as the maps are poor the experience will always be poor as well. What I really miss are the hot/conflict spots on maps. An example of this would be the sniper building on Crash in CoD4, the Cabin on Estate in MW2, or the silly tunnel/tube on Hardhat in MW3 - they're all dumb and obvious spots, but people just can't help themselves and they all funnel to it like moths to the flame.

There's simply no way to fix AW without throwing out too many key components and starting form scratch, something they will never, ever do. I'm still in amazement that for the first time ever, I've quit a CoD game in less than a week. At this point my last remaining hope is for an HD remake of MW - MW3.
