I wasn't a big fan of EMP Grenades but in this game they are great so i'll be making a class with that and Black Hat to take down anything on the ground.
I'm a big fan of the R870. Too much fun running around with it and destroying people.
I was playing Hardpoint (which I hated but I can tolerate it now) last night and was able to get a quad kill with that shotty:

In the beginning seconds of the clip, I was prone cause a friend sent me a voice message, lol. Thought I would die because of it. My "profile shot" was the only thing I didn't customize in my combat record but because of this clip, I now have this shot on my profile:
Currently level 31, Prestige 4. Got my gold Assault Shield. Trying to prestige it twice so I can put my emblem on it.
Unlocked the Ballista permanently with a token. I need those iron sights. Don't think I want to prestige it once I do. At least, not for a whiiiile.
I love these challenges. They really make you work for them. Feels nice to show them off.

Oh interesting, I was hoping for maps like jungle, firing range etc, are the maps generally smaller this time round then? Never been a fan of smg's I had a look at the weapon list and a lot of my favourite ar's have gone!
Will certainly use combat training to get me going before I go online, have always been pretty decent at cod but coming in late is a bit of a disadvantage lol.

I honestly don't see why it's inherently bad. I mean, if we were talking real-life politics, then yeah... But in a game, I feel like it's more than fine that players who put in the time and effort to practice get highly rewarded for it. I recognize that everyone should be allowed to have fun but if someone is too crappy at the game to have fun, they should have to practice or slow down their gameplay without resorting to corner camping with a heartbeat sensor, noobtube and a "no fun allowed" Stinger.
It's either that, or they're just stupid and keep respawning into the Chopper Gunner without switching to a Ghost class and instead of taking it easy they rage and run out into the hail of bullets... And who has any sympathy for dumbasses like that?
Agreed. Imagine MW2 with pointstreaks either like MW3 or BO2, OMA fixed, certain weapons tweaked a bit and Commando removed. I'm making myself excited just thinking about it.

MW3: January, but remember MW3 released more small bits of content instead of 4+ maps at a time.
I would say February for 360 is a good guess, January if Treyarch is awesome enough.
I miss the recon drone, it along with the 3 different strikes packages were the best thing to happen to me for CoD, I could never keep up in kills with my friends and rarely got Killstreaks before MW3.
But with the Support Killstreaks I could do both, and it was fun, such a shame that they have gone to an overall score streak system which just isn't helpful for those of us that aren't quite up there with other players and so always fall behind.

Yeah, Specialist was also awesome because it was the opposite of Support. If you were really good, you could bet it all on the line and turn into a one-man-army.
Honestly I don't think the MSNBC needs it. Suppressor is a better "point-for-your-buck" so to speak, and even the Extended Mags seems like a better option. Laser sight really gives the PDW a huge advantage though. Basically makes it a P90 with Steady Aim. I have been totally guilty of just spraying and praying and getting cheeky kills due to the great hipfire accuracy and the huge magazine.
The Riot Shield is probably the most practical it's ever been (but still ultimately a novelty like the crossbow and ballistic knife). And even the LMGs now have that sight that puts a big red box around the enemy. I picked one up during a game and was surprised at how well it worked. The LMG class could sure use an AUG though lol
I have never personally seen one. If it is indeed visible by other players, it's nothing like the battlefield 3 laser which is a bullseye in every sense of the word.

I was shielding last night with Betties. I went negative most of the time, but I had a blast. I got an awesome triple kill slowly approaching three people firing at me and then tossing out a Betty when they all reloaded.
You do get shot in the back/side a lot in this game though, and that's bad for Assault Shield players. I got 13 assists though one game.
Sometimes my Shock Charges trip and don't give me a hitmarker. Then I get shot in the back.

Guys seriously if you play TDM and are tired of hit markets and lag compensation jump over to hardcore TDM. It's amazingly good.

All the smg hate is really funny to me. I've always enjoyed smgs ever since I got into this series in CoD4 and finally I am rewarded for it. It's not glitching or using dual 1887s, it's just the best guns at the moment. The smaller maps just add to that. I honestly don't see it changing either, I think the only time a weapon got nerfed in a patch that I can remember was the 1887s.
So either use the smgs or don't, but there is nothing cheap about it, just the best option at the moment.

Being the host is a fucking joke once again, just like in MW3. It's nigh on impossible to go positive when you are doing the hosting duties. Just went 4-14 before I rage quit and got the host migration screen for a bit. Oh man, I don't think I have ever been this frustrated with any COD before, especially this soon after the launch.
But that's why it feels "cheap", because it's clearly the favored weapon type.
It's fucking grotesque. I seriously can't believe this is a bigger focus point in news etc. because it's bad beyond words. I swear to fucking god, due to the lag compensation people on a CONSOLE with a CONTROLLER appear to have faster reaction times than in your average old school CS MLG game. Next second, when you aren't host or having so much lag compensation on you it hurts, it suddenly feels like everything is in slowmotion and you can take your sweet ass time.
Shit almost deserves its own thread.

I need to check my game history and see if I can find the game where we play against a pretty competent team in one round and beat them after a tough fight. The second map, someone else pulls host (UK I think? not sure).
Our entire team goes three bar, and the next ten minutes are my party chat lighting up with 'WHAT THE FUCK'. Every single engagement was hitmarker, hitmarker, die. Their killcam would rarely show them getting hit, and almost always show them firing first.
We were completely crushed the second round.
It's not always that bad, but christ, it's so infuriating. The netcode made me stop playing BO and MW3 soon after release. MW3 was improved much later, but it frustrates me intensely that we're dealing with this again. Why haven't they learned? It should be getting BETTER, or at LEAST staying as good as it was in the past, why are we regressing? It just makes no sense at all, from any perspective.

So far I have noticed that SMGs with long barrel and power ammo just destroy people. I also notice that Assualt Rifle with Shotgun secondary also destroys people.

I've been doing decent with the MTAR as well. I usually prefer burst fire, but the MTAR gives me a decent shot against SMGs.

I'd deal with lag compensation just fine if I could freaking hear footsteps, it's how i did it in BlackOps and MW3. SIGH, FIX THIS SHIT GUERRILA!!!
OK so I tried gimping my connection by tethering it to my phone and throttling down the phone to "Edge" (hahahaha!)
It took me about 45 seconds to login to PSN, about a minute to access the online network after BO2 launched, about 2 minutes to find a game. I get in it aaaaand...
I get 4 bars. Didn't even play. I just left. 4 bars means I'm on the bad end of the lag comp. How on earth does an "Edge" network get 4 bars? How the shit does their netcode see motherfucking EDGE, on TMO, in my basement... 4 bars? My phone had 1 fucking bar (my basement sucks).
I reconnected via Ethernet, like usual, got back online and decided to play a game even though I wanted to stay away from it. I had 3 bars wired. I must have connected to a server on the other side of the country. My ping here in Chicago is 12ms avg. To the west coast it's 75ms.
Needless to say even with 3 bars I managed to wreck people. I actually got hit markers and when I ducked to cover, stayed alive. 31-6 in Domination with 9 caps on Raid. I didn't feel like I was overpowering anyone - BUT - when I took aim and fired downrange I only made most breaks by a fraction of a second. Usually by my second bullet my opponent was firing on me and I was taking huge damage. I just got the bust faster. The majority of my firefights were quick - both of us fired on each other stupidly fast. I didn't notice anyone taking a long time to fire on me in a face to face like I often see in killcams when I just stand around like a dumbass or aim in a completely different direction. I had a few guys get the draw on me first - and I went down as I should - but the bust was only a few bullets which is enough of a spread for him to take a few hits and live while downing me quick.
This was my first time actually living through a hit marker and first time when getting the break that I win a firefight. I usually just die without any indication that I was getting hit. But just seeing how much of a difference ME being on the good end of the Lag Comp was astronomical and that was just with 3 bars. I downed people in what would seem to be a normal amount of bullets instead of almost a full clip like it takes me with 4 bar connection.
Also I feel it should be noted I don't stand still. I don't use Ghost, Silencer, Laser - but I don't stand still in corners. I post an area for defense - but I never corner, head, window, etc. I keep mobile even when UAV shows incoming - I keep moving when defending so it's not like I get my kills from hiding. I generally don't do defense - I like capping/planting/defusing so my KDR will suffer due to being an easy target - but even when being the guinea pig in other games I still don't go under 1:1. I'm quick to take people out here and there but like to be the guy that pulls shooters from the woodwork so my team can set. I create diversions to keep the enemy occupied so the real heavy-hitters on my team can go to work and I feel I am an asset to the team, despite not having a huge KD in other games - but still floating positive. In this game - support is just not working with lag comp. I can't take out my share and keep them busy enough.
I can only imagine how 2 and 1 bar players feel.
After that - stayed in the lobby - host migrated - back to 4 bars - 12-26 FML

I'm of two minds with the footsteps issue. I like being able to hear people running around like crazy, and I think the game benefits from audio from a strategic standpoint. But I also don't think people who buy $80 headsets should have an inherent advantage over other players.
Its not that its soft. Its that its NON EXISTENT! If there was a slight noise it'd be ok, but ATM theres nothing

oh you can hear them with Awareness, its just happens when you are standing still and the guys gun is right next to your face.
You'll want the long barrel that increases range and the laser sight.
Then you can go on a rampage.

I think I'm done with this game until the lag is addressed. I've played my last match of going gun on gun against a guy and putting three or four hits from my full-auto FAL into him at point blank range, only to die and see that I don't get off one damn shot in the killcam

All the camos for a weapon class. I did it with the specials. So I have diamond for the assault shield, crossbow, ballistic knife and combat knife now. I can video them and post them here later.
Took forever.
