Just had a 28-17 game on Rust. The guy that won went 30-32, and everyone else was 1:1 or worse. Pretty good considering 1) I suck and 2) I didn't camp out on the tower.
Whenever I do rust I find that being in a corner with scavenger is the best.

Joint Ops is the only title that I see all the fucking time (Impaler and Bow Down seem to be other popular ones). It's like the Hayabusa armor in Halo 3. So lame.

I have one that says "Companion Crate" which I assume is nod to Portal so that's why I use it.

It's pink and has little hearts on it. I wonder if that's why I got called a fag? wouldn't surprise me.

Blunt Trauma is up there with Joint Ops as well..

fucking tacky.

I'm rockin' the soap icon because it reminds me of Fight Club and my temporary callsign is the Mad Man one because it reminds me of a cross between Dirty Harry and James Bond.

Which version is everyone playing?

Well I can certainly tell you that I most certainly have not been playing the PC version. I mean, that would be blasphemous of me. Nope. Definitely not playing the PC version.

Just did Takedown on Veteran. Definitely not nearly as hard as Veteran in the other games, but man that level is annoying.

Act III on Veteran is almost as bad as Killzone 2 on Elite....almost.

I use the soap one for that same reason. I haven't really seen anyone else with it, and it's the only one I have so far that I actually would want to use.

Use missles....is it really that hard ppl?? I shoot down everythign from UAV's and Choppers as soon as they go up. AC130's need 2 ppl to shoot at it becasue of the flares.

People need to stop crying so much and use what IW put in the game
I regularly shoot down helicopters before they can get a shot off. Thing is, everyone on my team is a dumbfuck and won't help me shoot down AC130s, so by the time I launch two missile to get rid of the flares, die and launch another missile the AC130 has already racked up a dozen kills. With the chopper gunner, if you don't shoot it down within the first few seconds (which isn't always possible with tall structures everywhere) you might as well quit.

Yeah, I'm surprised there isn't a weed leaf or a fucking bong to go along with Joint Ops and Blunt Trauma.

IW certainly tagged their target market.

Graphics are pretty awesome at times. Especially the lighting in the Amurrrica Invasion missions:

It is my opinion that Modern Warfare 2 has my favorite graphics engine so far. It runs great and looks pseudo-realistic at times with the great lighting. The shine and the highlights on textures are second to none. I seriously think it looks better than Crysis at times on my PC.

The last few spec ops missions are impossible to do by yourself. One juggernaught on your ass is enough, but TWO? are you fucking kidding me? :lol

Just had someone shooting at me from behind, so I went and ducked behind the nearest car, hail mary'd a semtex blindly for the hell of it, and it actually stuck the guy. :lol

They really do — I just saw someone using the Joint Ops title whose gamertag was BLLUUNNTTSS or something to that effect. Perfect.

I saw that and chuckled when I was playing. I think the titles are cute.

I think it's offensive, juvenile, and a sure way to tag yourself as a moron not worth the air or water they consume to sustain life.

Might as well just throw in a "kiddie porn" or "animal torturer" tag while you're at it. I'm sure the CoD target market would have a laugh at that too. They're both equally as repulsive or worse.

How is showing that you may or may not endorse smoking a drug similar to kiddie porn and torturing animals ?

Jeez you guys are fucking uptight, just relax its a game and you don't have to choose those titles if you don't want.

Some people smoke pot, it happens. Deal with it.

I don't

I'm on PS3, after my first online match yesterday I was ranked around 1.8 million on the leaderboards. So while the 360 has moved a ton of units there are definitely plenty of people playing on both consoles. I'm about 2/3 of the way through the single player on Vet. as well.

Would an alcohol-themed tag saying "binge-drinker" "drunk driver" or "throw em back" (probably most practical, for returning grenade throws) be more appropriate? That shit is shameful. But then, what about what most of the people playing this online, shouting at strangers, rapping, playing music, screaming, etc. isn't?

I think the tags are meant to be cheeky and not serious. And of course it is a good way to label yourself as a pot smoker, but it's also a very cute pun and play on words. If people want to proclaim that they smoke weed then so be it, I mean, we've all seen worse in gamertags and PSN IDs, just ignore the title and move along...

I played 3-ish hours of the campaign on the Xbox 360 at a friend's house, and ridiculous set pieces aside I really like Call of Duty 4's campaign more at this point. Does anyone else just really hate the blood splatter that obstructs your view when you get shot? I found it extremely annoying and disorienting especially on the Brazil levels where you often have enemies coming from multiple directions. I was playing on normal and found myself dying a lot just because I couldn't make sense of what was going on once my screen got filled with ketchup and broken glass. I beat Call of Duty 4 on the Xbox 360 on Veteran, so I am not terrible at console shooters, but I found many parts of Modern Warfare 2 to be annoyingly difficult and just plain frustrating.

There is also just something, maybe it is the layout of the levels or more likely the ketchup and broken glass, but I just found the shooting to be a lot less fun in this game than CoD4. Just to make sure I wasn't just being fondly nostalgic of the CoD4 I booted it up on Steam when I got home and played a few levels and the game just felt a lot better to me.

I didn't get a chance to touch the multiplayer, but I must say I am kind of disappointed by the campaign. There were some pretty cool set pieces, though and graphically they definitely improved the models and the faces in particular.

Yes, the blood is fucking retarded. The campaign does pick up, but I got way into the habit of basically mashing LT RT LT RT to keep abusing the lockon since I could rarely see anyone.

I got the cloak and dagger title with that beret as the icon. My tribute to the 80's movie.

All I see half the time though is joint ops, bow down and rein of fire or whatever it's called.

Did you just equate having an online tag with drunk driving? Kudos, chum. :lol :lol

Does it exist in the multiplayer as well? I won't even try it if it does. Why did they get rid of the old effect that worked so well in telling you how close to death you are.

It does, but it doesn't fill up as much of the screen as singleplayer.

Yeah, but it's a little better. In SP it barely tells you how damaged you are and just obstructs your view after one hit, in MP it's atleast more progressive to show damage. The old one was fine either way, I don't know why they thought this new one was a good idea at all.

I hear AC-130s have two flares, so it would have taken one more missile than what you shot. I've never tried it myself, don't know for sure.

The AC130 has 2 sets of flares, so you have to shoot it 3 times.

The more I use Cold Blooded, the more I realise how useful it is. Since I started using it, I haven't been killed by a helicopter or harriers, very rarely get hit by the AC 130 or predator missile, and can just walk straight up to a sentry gun and knife it. Makes shooting things down much easier when they don't shoot at you.
