For all those people who are worrying about their stats, don't. Try to enjoy the game as it is first. All those stats are nothing but achievements or trophies. When lot of people say, I don't care any of the gamerscore stuff, why care about these stats?
When I fist started playing COD4, I was a brand new console player for online, I was getting pwned. Atleast for the first few months, my K/D was negative. After couple of months, I really got the hand of the game, started getting good at it. By that time, some of the players have hopped on to other multiplayer games etc. There was far less camping, games were more fun overall. The last time I played COD4, I was a Golden Cross with 150,000 kills with a K/D of 1.85. I improved significantly over time, so does everybody as you get to know the game well and play well.
So just stop worrying so much about all those stats and play the game for what it is and have fun. Your stats will get better eventually.
As for the camping, I couldn't agree more, especially with so many people caring about their stats, everybody wants a high K/D and they are camping, which in turn gives you higher killstreak reward like chopper gunner, AC-130 or the nuke.
