Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 |OT|

I hope IW have a massive pool of shit they know they need to fix.

Last night, I came across the javelin glitch where when they die, a javelin instantly blows up.
The rock glitch every time we played on Afghan.
Fucking 1887's.
Ground war net code. Why does it pick a shitty connection in the first place, then the first time it changes host, it picks another shit connection. It didn't do this once or twice last night though, oh no, in 1 game alone, 6 times. 6 fucking times.

MW:2 players need to stop downloading porn whilst playing FFS.

I'm sick of the system where MVP is ranked based purely on points gained, not on K-D ratio. It makes sense to use the points system to rank people in modes with objectives I think, but in DM it's stupid. I could kick arse and go 50-5 and be beaten by some chump who gets 55-60 or something. They did not contribute more than me.

yeah, but at the same time, if person A goes 25-6, and person B goes 5-1, i would argue that person A contributed a lot more, no?

Uh, well yeah, but in that case Person A would have more points and a higher KD ratio than Person B, so yeah.

no person B has a higher ratio, but I think MVp should be based on Kills minus deaths.

Yeah, Modern Warfare 2 really didn't need a beta. Whatever.

Just played with a guy who got a friend in a FFA and constantly killed him with a knife to boost for a nuke. How sad.

Just had my best game to date. 52 and 1 on Wasteland playing CTF. I called in 2 harriers, 2 pavelows, and chopper gunner. Had a second chopper gunner but didn't have enough time to call it in. I also had a ton of flag runner kills and one capture.

It almost seems unfair to use C4 when playing domination. It's silly how many people fall for it repeatedly within the same match. I've only run unto two people so far that bothered to try to avoid it. One guy would start to cap for a second then back off and wait for it to blow, another guy had a riot shield and just set up shop so that the c4 was on the opposite side of the glass and he took no damage.

Everyone else just gets exploded.

Been using that one since COD4. Agreed, works a treat. So, can I please kindly ask you not to spread the word any further? ;) The only annoyance is when the announcer randomly doesn't yell that one of your flags is being taken.

I managed to get myself into a funny situation last week. Was playing HC TDM, I believe, on Invasion. I entered that small room near one of the bomb sites in S&D & was going to plant a claymore there. However, an enemy had entered the same room from the other direction with the same intent :lol We both planted our claymores at the same time, facing each other, thus activating each others mines since the room is like 10 square feet big. Both of us went "oh shit!" & tried to dodge the explosives by diving out of our respective doors.

I had Scrambler Pro. He did not :D :D :D

My favorite use of the claymore is still using it as the ultimate anti-riot-shield weapon. Walk up and drop it right in front of them.

I assume that the average person just jams on the respawn button as fast as they can the second they die. I don't even watch every killcam, or the full duration of the ones that I do watch, but I've gotten the "most time spent watching killcams" in like a third of the matches I've played. The people who don't watch them at all are really doing a disservice to themselves.

If the riot shield user crouches doesn't that negate the claymore?

I was playing 3rd person cage match with the shield and the other player would lay down claymores and I don't remember it killing me.

I watch killcams while I am learning the game/maps etc. Eventually you come to know the maps and can be fairly certain where you were killed from.

I get "Spy" accolade almost every match. I'm horrible so I feel like watching the kill cams may give me indication of how not to suck.

Oh man...Hardcore mode is so fun.

Would probably boost my K/D substantially if I kept playing that mode.

...as it stands I'm still working towards my first prestige. Level 63 at the moment I think?

Good 'ole M4 w/Ninja w/Cold-Blooded w/Bling w/Silencer is just the best weapon for me. I need the automatic fire in close situations and it's decent from longer ranges. Not ideal stat wise, but it's the best bang for my buck for the way that I play.

Obviously the SCAR would be the best for me, but the laughably small clip sizes are just too much of a liability, and often I'm out of ammo much too quickly.

Been playing around with the TAR and I have to say it's pretty beastly despite the recoil.
High damage + good rate of fire = winning a lot of 1 on 1 encounters short and medium ranged.
I haven't unlocked the AK yet to compare, but if it's anything like the AK from COD4, then the TAR should have a better rate of fire, but more unpredictable recoil pattern. You could always count on that AK recoil going up a bit, so it was a bit more manageable than the TAR at long range. I still have a while to go before reaching 70. I'm at 47 right now with about 26 hours of play I think.

Unfortunately I get the "most kills of a higher rank" accolade almost every match (thanks to the clan raping and matchmaking)

I've played up to level 20 and while I'm enjoying myself I must say there seems to be WAY more camping in this game compared to COD4. Also, some games are just dominated by killstreak air support from beginning to end, which makes some matches pretty bogged down and random.

It's connected to your gamertag, not the console. You won't have to start from scratch, granted you recover your tag.

I've seen this game being labeled 'noob-friendly' due to the aim assist and arcadey run & gun nature of the gameplay (at least non-HC modes). I've had a bunch of new guys at work join our COD group this time around and I find it much less 'noob-friendly' than COD4. Between some of the overwhelming killstreak support, busier map layouts, more prevalent camping, and all the COD4 old timers quickly adapting, these guys are getting destroyed and overwhelmed on a pretty consistent basis. I wish there was a merc training / newbie playlist where they would only allow the original 3 killstreaks from COD4 and try to filter for players with less than 1 k/d ratio if that's possible. At least have them stand a chance when they're playing alone.

And your not dying does not benefit your team really so why should you be considered more important than the person who scored more points? Since you score points for more than just kills, it would show that a person with a higher score has done more to generally help the team as a whole. K-D ratio is just personal bragging points, but your not dying does not really benefit me.

A playlist for sub 1 k/d players would actually be a really great idea, that and more merc modes to avoid stacked party's

Yea I get that too. I play Domination mostly. The matchmaking is quite horrible. I played about 5 hours on Saturday, nearly every match I was in games with either all clan members on one side or I was playing with nearly all prestige players. I'm level 20 something. :/

FWIW, I would rather you went 0-0 than 20-25 in a game of TDM.

Make sure they stick to merc mode for a while, big difference in the competition in this mode. In regular modes getting constantly stacked with randoms against an organized party/clan is really brutal in MW2, much worse than MW1 due to ridiculous nature of killstreaks in this game.

Oh boy this game. I'm sure someone probably saw this themselves and mentioned it but, this is my first time for MW2 anyway. Lastnight I jumped in for a few matches before bed. Once again the game attempts to put me into matches already on the way on the losing team close to the end of the match. I now back out and spectate so I can get kicked and do not suffer a loss. Well what do I see on one map. Both teams camping the flag for points. One team runs over and captures then backs off then the opposing team runs over to recapture. This went on the entire round until I was kicked. I just had to laugh to myself and feel pity on these point hog bastards. That's why I wonder If some of those guys at the top worked hard for those points.
Also, please tell me why on the Afghan map is the chopper gunner able to kill me in the fucking cave? The motherfucker blasted his rounds through solid rock. IW PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF SANITY SEND US A PATCH TO CURE SOME OF THE OUTRAGEOUS SHIT IN THIS GAME.

Agreed, but if your team wins, it doesn't matter. Someone who went 20-25 contributed more than someone who went 15-0. If your team loses, it's a whole other story.

On the server, linked to gamertag.

You can also ask for a transfer cable from Microsoft to copy save data to your new xbox...it's free.

Did you know Halo invented the FPS?
Man I feel like an ass, I got 20-25 spawnkills on demolition with the choppergunner. they kept popping up on top of each other shot after shot lol

BattleMonkey said:

I disagree. His not dying meant less kills for the other team. If the object of the game is to score more kills than the other team, then a teammate feeding easy kills to the opposition does hurt.

Agreed. Kill/death ratio is not just for bragging rights. It shows how much of a liability you are to your team in any Deathmatch mode. In objective based matches, less so, but if you have an absolutely atrocious K/D ratio you probably weren't helping much... or feeding a Nuke Streak.
