I remember my first credit card. I was a 19 year old university student with no job or income, but somehow I got approved by TD for a CC with a $1000 limit.

It was probably the MBNA Smart Cash Mastercard. Don't know about the thread on gaf (this one is for US credit card, but mbna was mentioned there http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=459085&highlight=mbna)

Just use the RFD thread. (For reference only though, don't try to post there, it's a horrible community with a lot of people who don't know what they're talking about)

You've just described me right now. TD offered me a card, and I have until April 1st to go with it, but I want to check out alternatives while I still have spare time.

There was some credit card talk earlier in this thread as well.

You, sir, are incredible. I've had SML3D and SF643D on my shelf since boxing day and now I will finally be able to play them! Thanks!

I wonder if the discount (-$50 MSRP) is also effective in-store? Checked the store locator and price availability function on the site and it won't list prices or stock at stores. Hrmmm...

Will other stores Pricematch? ie Futureshop?

I really have to feel sorry for early adopters who bought the thing for $250. I mean, who the fuck knew you would be able to pick up a 3DS for $99 just 1 year later.

My God.

Thank you. That's a low enough price for the 3DS for me to buy a second one. Now I can finally have a pink 3DS!

Resisting urge to pick up that 3DS... must wait out for redesign.

Just buy it and trade it/sell it later. You should easily get at least $70-80 for it.

Oh well. I just have to keep telling myself that the 450 hours I've used it since last March made it worthwhile. They should price match if it's advertised somewhere. It's not in the flyer, but since it's listed online you should be okay. If nearby Wal-Mart stores have stock at least.

I don't feel bad about my day one 3DS purchase.

I felt it was worth my money at the time. The lower price doesn't make me feel I wasted the $250 + tax. It just makes me feel like now buying a 2nd one. I guess I suck with this money management thing.

So how does the mail in rebate work? It says to send in my original UPC cut from the box and original receipt. So say I did that but found an issue with the 3DS and I need to get it exchanged. Would it just be too bad for me since the UPC is cut out and I wouldn't have the receipt anymore?

I imagine price-matching at Future Shop and Best Buy will be a bit of a pain in the ass this week, because they both are bundling Steel Diver with their 3DSs. It's going to be one of those "but we're giving you a FREE GAME" situations, where you might get grief even if you ask them to de-bundle said game. :)

I wish it was in the Walmart flyer. I'd consider picking it up at Superstore, 'cause I've got a crapload of PC Points. As it stands, I'll probably just let it slide (my standard response to handhelds is I really don't have a huge need for them currently, but my gadget lust still kinda pushes me :)

I'm sure there are quite a few out there that thought it was only worth about $99.

Lots of people are reporting being able to PM if you purchase it online. Probably more YMMV in store, but online should be no problem. You'll just need to call in and talk to a CSR to have the adjustment done.

Ok, for $99, I was in for a 3ds, ordered a Cosmo Black. Then I took a look at the 3ds rebate coupon from Nintendo and noticed this in the fine print:

Redemption materials received by Nintendo must be postmarked no later than May 31st 2012 to qualify for rebate.

And yet the rebate is valid on purchases up until the 16th of April? wtf? I'm not even sure if the console will arrive where I live by the 31st (Walmart estimates an April 4th delivery on my order).

EDIT - *facepalm* nvm, May is not March!

You buy games before the console too? High-five!

(I bought Zelda OoT before getting the Zelda 3DS and a second copy of the game...)

So about the rebate. If I don't have to mail it out until May 31st, then I can keep the 3DS for the 30 day Wal-Mart exchange window to make sure the thing is fine. Then mail it in April, after the rebate date has ended?

I'm concerned because I had to return my first one like three times for dead pixels before I got one that I was happy with.

I feel bad about mine =(
I can certainly understand. Especially if you haven't played it that much.

Like I'm feeling quite bad about my day one Vita purchase right now to be honest. And if the price drops, I'd feel even worse.

I purchased Mario, Zelda, and Mario Kart. I also bought Pushmo and played that to the point where the puzzles got too complicated and I had to stop.

The main reason I bought a 3DS was for the potential. The VC looked promising, the games like Layton, Kid Icarus, Kingdom Hearts, Phoenix Wright, Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Metroid, etc. are all promising as well. There's a significant difference in the amount of games I want to play whenever they're released versus what I've played in the past year. (Due to the small amount of quality games released in the last year, all of which have been first party)

Unfortunately though, being an early adopter and just assuming it wouldn't drop in price much was a bad choice. I assumed it would maybe drop $20 or so during the holidays, or $20 and a free game to push the hardware during the holidays, but never did I expect a 60% drop in price within the first year. That's just insane.

The only thing I really use my 3DS for now is DS games, as there just aren't enough quality 3D titles out there.

I just put this up on kijiji, but I thought I'd put it here if anyone is interested since it likely doesn't belong in the B/S/T thread. Im selling my 360 bundle that i mentioned earlier. Some of the games have changed, and so has the price.

Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 360 slim w/ 60 GB hard drive
Silent Hill HD Collection
Silent Hill Downpour
Ninja Gaiden 2
Splinter Cell Double Agent
Splinter Cell Conviction
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Bulletstorm
Condemned
Condemned 2
Batman: Arkham Asylum- Game of the Year Edition
Nier
Dead Space
Dead Space 2

Xbox games:
The Punisher
Dead or Alive 3
WWE Raw 2

I'm looking for $400 and I'm pretty firm on the price.

Willing to sell some of those titles individually, canadian crowe?

I'm trying not to break it up, but if I don't sell it in a week (give or take) I will. Let me know what you're interested in and how much you want to offer for them, and if it doesn't sell I can give you first dibs if you're still interested.

I would bang a hot farmer!
I never saw the appeal of Twisted Metal. I admittedly only played the first two but that was enough for me to never care about the series ever again.

I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more attention on RFD and other sites of that ilk, but Future Shop has an unadvertised Trade 5, get $200 off a Vita promotion going on now: http://community.futureshop.ca/t5/T...et-the-PSVita-for/td-p/355633?CMP=lec-twitter

I hadn't planned to pick one up until a price drop, but the deal was too good to pass up. Employees had no idea about the promotion, but pointing them towards FS's twitter account seemed to be good enough for them.

The 3DS deal is great but I can't stand only one analog nub. Having a Vita makes one pretty important this generation of handhelds. Will all the aggressive pricing (clearing stock) is anyone else thinking there will be a redesign unveiled at this E3?

Let's try to keep it out of the Deals thread. Every 3DS thread eventually degrades into it, so it's not too tough to find a place to discuss the subject. :p

If you're on the fence about the 3DS purchase, keep in mind that the system comes ready to transfer all your data over to a new 3DS if need be. If you end up buying a new system a year later, you won't have the fear you had with older Nintendo systems of not being able to transfer your data over without sending in the system.

Gah. $119.98 for a 3DS is incredibly tempting. Do you think it's worth it if all I want is a bunch of DS games and Super Mario 3D Land?
This seems cheaper than regular DSis, at least sold at Futureshop and Best Buy.

Yes. Plus you're set for the next five years of Nintendo handheld games.

Oh shit, I'd be so in on that.

Can't believe Revelations qualifies - got it for $20 on Boxing Day. Throw in Saints Row, which I've played to death, SSX, which I got for free via tsilom, Arkham City, which I've also played to hell and back, and Dark Souls, which I've never been in the mood to play since I bought it. And I'll keep my CE tin and contents for when I repurchase the game itself.

Though I suppose that means I'd still need a memory card. Wonder if Costco still has that deal...

So as long as the game shows up on the future shop trade in list I can give away 5 and get vita for 50? Fuck I can walk over to eb games tomorrow and pick up 70 bucks worth of used games if that's the case.

I got my first PSP in 2006-2007 for $96 by abusing a trade 8 promotion and getting an employee at EB to look up the cheapest games in the store that had $8 trade-in value. Oh, those were the days.

RIP Blockbuster. They helped us secure our DS and DSi and DSiXL systems for really cheap, with the trade in deals at EBgames. Now there's no place really left to do this sort of thing. The only part of video stores I'll miss.

Looks like I'm buying a Vita. I could've done this already, I have 5 games on the list but sadly they're European and I don't think they would accept them.

Canadian games I own: Driver San Francisco, Warhawk, NHL 09

Guess I'll be picking up two more games.

You could always try. I've traded in games to FS that didn't scan properly (ie EB exclusive edition) and the CSR just entered them manually.

Where are you seeing the list? The lists I can see don't have Warhawk or NHL09 on them.
