Caught the perks at work deal for a total of 1600 canadian.

Not cheap, but it retails at bb for 2300 up here so good enough
Ah, I think this is the one I saw at RFD. BH photo are selling it for $1162 with shipping and duties included. Pretty much the price you mentioned.

Is an NES worth anything nowadays? We found a mint condition NES in original box at the in-laws the other day. I'm likely going to bring it home, maybe to keep, maybe to sell. I checked Kijiji, but they only seem to be offering out of box, and nowhere near mint condition systems

Ugh.

I had an NES Action Set (2 controllers, zapper, SMB/DH) and an SNES Control Set (2 controllers + mario world).

The action set had everything minus the manuals, SNES was the same way.

Figured I'd be optimistic and set the price on Kijiji for $150 each... I figured the NES would go right away and the SNES I'd go down to $125 or so.

SNES went right away at $150, and then the NES sat and sat and sat and I started getting low-balls aorund 60-70 which I obviously didn't take. Ended up at $100 because my wife wanted to buy board games.

YMMV.

EB Games currently has a promo if you trade your old NES towards the Mini one.

By any chance does anyone have any recommendations on a replacement cable for Sennheiser HD598 headphones that includes an inline mic?

I'm seeing one on amazon.ca but it's getting pretty lukewarm reviews.

If you buy a $40 Cineplex gift card, either online or at the box office, you'll get a $40 gift pack. This offer lasts until New Year's Day.

Included in the gift pack:

One free admission upgrade (ie. regular to 3D)
$6.99 Wednesday admission ticket
Buy One, Get One Free admission
Free regular popcorn
100 Scene Points
50% off of Cineplex Store movie rental (English pack only)
Free soft drink (French pack only)

I'm tempted, but I spent $90 on 3 cards last time and got a nearly identical pack with all three. I used everything I could, and got good value out of it, but still have two of the cards.

I'd prefer a free soft drink coupon over a 50% off movie rental, though.

So does Andromeda deluxe come with an singler player DLC like they did with Mass Effect 3? I have a $49.99 preorder so if the deluxe is all MP crap i'll just keep that one.

damn that's so much more than the US, but still a hell of a deal

kind of regret buying that Mario 3D Land bundle now, but it's no big deal since I used my shoppers points anyway

Yeah, Nintendo really pushed it a bit too far with that price. But considering 3DS are hard to get at a decent price on Kijiji in my area, and that the alternative is the 200$ Mario faceplate system or a 2DS, both bundled with games I already own, this news is still really good for me. :p

... $99 usd right now is $132 Canadian. So it should be $130 not $140....

Fudge we are so screwed when it comes to the Switch pricing if they keep this type of bs up

Even if they wanted to fleece us, $134.99 would be kind of acceptable as a rounded number. $140 is just gross.

Guys, what's the better option? N3DS or N3DS XL? I'm upgrading from my 2DS and I can't decide. I love my 2DS and honestly don't want to upgrade, but there is tons of dust trapped between the screen and the glass on the top screen (apparently it gets in from the speaker grill). I love the lime green N3DS XL (which would match my lime green DS lite) but the black N3DS is $100 cheaper.

I mostly just use my 3DS for RPGs so I kinda want to splurge on the XL to play Xenoblade 3D, but as a student I really should save money and get the normal N3DS. Any advice from people who've tried both?

Has anyone's copy of Robinson The Journey for PSVR shipped from Amazon yet?

Mine says shipping November 14th arriving 15th. This is with the fastest shipping too. Brutal. I only went with Amazon because I had gift cards. Was hoping it would arrive for Thursday when I get my PS4 Pro.

I see why people don't buy games from Amazon. I can walk into a store and buy it tomorrow. Useless.

Do you find the screen size of the 2DS to be a massive hurdle preventing you from enjoying your games? If not then you might as well go for the regular New 3DS. It has no disadvantages apart from the smaller screen and the screen is still slightly bigger than the 2DS. It plays Xenoblade too.

Size comparison (2DS = the one labeled "3DS"):

Take advantage of the regular deal, and the regular N3DS's screens are slightly bigger than the 2DS already, so that is a plus

and it's finally available in black.

Oh, a note I have for NXLs are it's incredibly easy for the paint job to chip off especially around the edges of the bottom plate where your palms rest, so I wouldn't consider them anyways haha.

If you're used to the 2DS screen, the non-XL N3DS should be fine. Going the other way (XL to "regular") seems like insanity. I don't think my old man eyes could cope. Looking at my daughter's 2DS, I just don't think I could do it.

Save the $100 if you've been cool with your 2DS other than that dust issue.

holy crap I'm thinking of getting an xbone but it's probably better if I get my uncle to order one for me from the states and I pay him then me buying one?

Hopefully with black friday deals I can get an 1tb xbone with 2 games for $400...

Please Microsoft.
Wait $400 CAD is the right price, however the tax is lame

What do you guys think black friday deals will be like for xbone/ps4? Would it be better to wait for boxing day?

I hope they sell Switch stuff at SDM for launch. I've been building up my war chest of Optimum points and should have $170 worth (and then some) when the system comes out. I have a bunch of credit at EB Games and some other rewards funds that should pay for the system itself.

EDIT: Also, maybe I'm going to just post every five minutes until I'm half a page of this thread on my own. Way to go, loser.

Isn't SDM kind of trying to get out of video games? They only have a limited selection whenever I go, and lots of stuff is in bargain bins.

Thanks for the advice everyone! :D

I used to have a normal XL before it got stolen/lost so I'm kind of used to the big screens. The main reason I love my 2DS was the comfort factor. So much more comfortable than the original 3DS and original XL. I still kind of miss the big screens but I tolerate the 2DS screen size because I got it for really cheap.

The reason I brought up Xenoblade is that I remember the text being super tiny on Wii. I could see it being a bit of an issue on a normal 3DS screen, especially for long play sessions.

I didn't know about the d-pad chipping apart on XL units though. I remember that was a problem on the original 3DS, but my launch one never ended up with those issues strangely enough.

Ahh shoot it's kind of hard to decide. Reminds me of when my friend mulled for a week over getting a 6S or a 6S Plus. I totally understand now, haha.

I feel like they've been trying to get out of video games for years.

Yeah, I sometimes think Shoppers is done with video games... but then the one closest to me — which has limited space — doubled up on what it carried (previously it carried just Xbox One and Nintendo stuff, they've expanded into PS4)... so I think the situation is still up in the air.

I hope they don't get out of games, because I'll be damned if I know what I'll spend $170 on there :)

I just recently got an Optimum card, and almost forget I have it. I go to Shopper's pretty often, though, to see what colouring books they have, because I know the owner (he's a great guy) and they always have 25% off. Plus a good selection.

But I don't think I spend enough there to get lots of points.

So my Final Fantasy XV pre-order from E3 2014 seems to have been lost to the ether...
I am pretty sure I pre-ordered it at FutureShop... My Zelda BotW and Persona 5 pre-orders still remain, but there is no trace of that order. I forgot the account number, and when I called BB and had them look into it, they found my Zelda and P5 orders, but couldn't find that one...

Ugh.

I found my FF15 order!

... it was from 2013, not 2014 @_@

Edit: Do'h, double post
My last email was found in a deleted emails folder through Windows Live Mail (which I don't use anymore) on my laptop, lol... very random.
