CES = The new hardware E3??

It seems like convergence is upon us. Video games are taking over CES.

The next couple of days should be fun.

1) PSP US Unveiling
2) HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray fight
3) Xenon rumblings
4) ???

CES has always been a hardware heavy show. I remember attending several of them back in the days when the video games were there in a big way, before E3.

Should be a bunch of new cool cell phones, too. I want this one, the new Samsung i550:

Looking forward to new Sirius hardware announcements myself. I'd explode if Sirius and Apple announced hardware together. I'd settle for a ripoff of XM's MyFi, though.

And yes, before E3, CES was THE video games show, and I don't think gaming ever completely exited CES. As you suggest, convergence may be a factor in video game hardware making a resurgence at the show. That or it's just the show closest to PSP's launch.

Sorry, but I am already in love with Samsung's B-Bop

any news on HDTV tech that might be shown? I've read a few things on FED and some other new techs, and I'm curious as to whether or not they're going to be shown at E3. Isn't Cannon also developing some new TV tech for this year also? Come on, someone's gotta know.

I'm looking forward to seeing Archo's new portable video player. It was formerly known as the AV500 but I think they changed the name. I already have an AV400 and it's a great gadget.

I'm thinking there'll have to be some solid word on Xenon. That's what I'm most excited about..knowing something for sure, finally.

Should also see some info on an a stand alone TiVO™ HD DVR and the new TiVo to Go™ service.

I have a series 2 TiVo and just got a Comcast HD-DVR on Sunday. If TiVo doesn't come out with anything new and restructure their prices, they're gone. They just can't compete with the low prices and bulk volumes of Comcast...
